Woot-woot…the weekend is here and that means that it is time for our 2 day post! Today is Simple Saturday and then POP back tomorrow to see Step It Up Sunday and the changes I make to this card!
I know that the first day of Autumn is right around the corner but for today – it is IN THE HOUSE today on my blog! I ADORE this time of the year and each year I play an “eye spy” on certain trees in the area that are always sooooo beautiful when the color changes – we are a way from that time but I like to get excited for the color!
This stamp set is in the annual catalog and it is simply beautiful! Just look at the detail on the images….simply FALL AT IT’S BEST! I was thrilled that it was carried over and I hope it is around for many, many more years! There are matching framelits….which makes if a breeze to stamp and cut!
Do you remember last weekend I shared with you how I soften the fibers in the paper? Well today I did the same ~ I balled up the paper…..worked it with the bone folder…..balled it up again and then smoothed it out, a quick stamp, a run through Mr. Big Shot – we are good to go! Just look are the soft texture – LOVE IT!
I know that I have not blogged a bunch with this stamp set below…but hang tight, my creative engine is just getting started! This might appear to be a Fall set but I see it as a super versatile one….HAVE FUN WITH COLOR and you can change the whole feel of the card!
The sentiment I used here is the TOPS, it seems to be perfect for Fall/Thanksgiving but I would encourage you to think out of the box and use it ALL YEAR LONG!
Now I say…WOW, I know that I would be beaming to receive this! The colors, the texture, the gorgeous envelope…say no more! One thing that I want to make sure I point out is…The card is on Sahara Sand Card Stock – that’s right…a bit different but the end result comes out to a super fall card! I invite you to play with other colors for your bases!
I hope to see you front and center tomorrow to see what is up my sleeve with Step it Up Sunday! I know that a sale on the clearance rack brings out the best in us…..things are being depleted so make sure that you get on in the savings!
Have a SUPER Saturday and see you in the morning!
I love everything about this card, the colors are beautiful. I haven’t purchased the Paisleys and Posies stamp set because I can’t see myself using anything other than the sentiments.(which are awesome, by the way). I can’t wait to see tomorrow’s version. Have a great day!!
I do agree that the sentiments are great in this stamp set. I am going to use this set in BRIGHT colors…haven’t played with it yet but I have a vision (I think?????)
This is a great card. Can’t wait to try it.
Please do….I know that you will smile!
What a great Autumn card! The colors are so crisp and perfect for this time of year. I really like how you popped the sentiment with a touch of Arti and some dashes. What will tomorrow bring! Have a great day!
POPPING always seems to work but on Sunday’s card I did not…but I still think that it works (in a different way) I saw some sheep in a field that were just sheared….they looked so funny, kinda like my sheep!
This is a beautiful card. I love how you stamped some leaves and diecut others for more texture. The thin strips of Always Artichoke across the tag with your special dot/dash touch adds a nice touch. Looking forward to seeing the magic you work to step it up. Have a great weekend.
Thanks. I thought it would be fun to show something different other than using my good old dash and dots!
I must chime in with HJ about how you did your leaves …..love love love ! I absolutely love Fall leaves and collect them as they begin to fall. I keep them in little baskets or on a window sill . Believe it or not I have a couple left over from last year and they are still so pretty !!
Love your card and was surprised at where you got the dsp on the envie …..I think I miss a lot of pretty “other sides ” of SU dsp sometimes if I don`t get the Shares or order the set !
Looking forward to the Step Up version !
I too love these leaves….it is fun to soften the paper up and then stamp the image before you use the Big Shot! I am just like you – I love to collect beautiful leaves and keep them, the colors are always so beautiful! Hope you like Sundays card!
I am awaiting an order with this stamp set and dies…..I was super excited to see today’s post using them!!!! Conditioning the paper is something I will be trying. What a surprise you used Sahara Sand as your base!!!! It works beautifully !!!
What a gorgeous card you are sharing today. Nature at its best…..all the beautiful colors of fall.
YEAH FOR YOU…a smart stamper! I hope that you case this card when you get it. I hear you about the Sahara Sand but sometimes it is fun to switch it up! It is amazing how different colors of ink look on it! Try it!
Lovely card Susan. Autumn is such a wonderful season, I agree!
It sure is….I am sure that it is beautiful as well where you live….
Really LOVE this card……I love the fall season. The colors of mother nature are so wonderful…..plus the weather is always so great…….my favorite time of year! I could just give myself a good kick that I didn’t get Vintage Leaves & framelits as a bundle last year……..you have always said to buy the bundle & save!! Well, will I ever learn!! I was on the fence forever about this set………now I think I will HAVE to have it & “pay” for my mistake!! Can’t wait to see how you stepped it up. Have a great fall weekend.
My lower lip is hanging down for you – I Know that it is frustrating when you go back and forth if you should….this is a keeper and I will say, if you decide to get it, you will never regret it! A true classic – you and are on the same boat – I LOVE FALL!!!!
You may as well not even post a Step it up Sunday – I don’t think you can improve on this card. Maybe stepping on them and we can hear the crunch? Watch you prove me wrong! I am totally in love with this from the colors to the texture to everything. Thank goodness you did not do any blue leaves….I hated seeing blue leaves on that one paper last year or two ago. That is just not natural. These leaves – yes! Ted and I took a walk this morning and crunched on some fallen acorns. A few leaves are golden tones but I hope they take their time to turn. I am not a big fan of snow. I love fall, like Ann said, “Nature at it’s best!” That Moroccan paper looks great on the envelope. You can bet I would be beaming like you said, if I found this beauty in my mailbox!
You are a mess…and I adore you and your comments! BLUE LEAVES…..no way!!!!
Susan, what a lovely autumn/Thanksgiving card you have created. It’s hard to imagine what you will do to “Step It Up”. I think it’s perfect just the way it is! Thanks for sharing.
It is a challenge every week that I find “a challenge” but it is fun ~ thanks for popping in!
Dear Susan, This card is so pretty. I agree Fall is such a beautiful time of he year, I love everything about this card, the colors, the texture, the DSP on the envelope. I agree you do not have to do anything to this card it is perfect just as it is. I will be excited to see tomorrow for Stepping It Up. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
You are just the sweetest!
I love fall! I wish our leaves changed. I wish we had leaves…. LOL! Ah well, I’ll get my fall fix through awesome cards like this one. This set is so versatile. It’s so sad I don’t know where mine is though. I have the framelet dies front and center so the stamps just have to be somewhere?!
My heart hurts for you that you cannot see the beautiful leaves…but think of it this way – you gt to have flowers all year long! I will make sure that I snap spme great pitures of beautiful leaves!
