Here is the SCOOP….I have a fun card for you using the same technique that I shared yesterday with a new orientation (vertical) and a more masculine feel with the DSP and color choice. Please click here to see yesterdays post!
I hope that you can sit back and view both of them to see what versatile bundles I used to make a fun card that has a great “foundation” for many card opportunities you have throughout the year. I think that it is fair to say that Birthday Cards are a card that we send out….A BUNCH!
As I shared yesterday, the Window Shopping Bundle IS being carried over but you will not get the instant 10% discount after May 31st and the Biggest Birthday Ever IS LEAVING US on May 31st . I hope that this 2 day post has shown you the potential of these bundles!
The Moroccan DSP is the fun for the day. This paper is on sale right now for just $7.70 and it is a great choice for rich and masculine cards. It truly has a wonderful depth of yummy colors and I love the fact that it coordinates with Very Vanilla. (I love that when SU does that)
This card was as easy as yesterdays card because of the “JIG” – If you missed my video on the “JIG” – please click here and you can see 1st hand how I broke it down to share/show you that it really IS your friend….not just another gadget that you have and do not use!
You can also see below how I carried over the thread in black. A simple touch like this gives your project a texture and depth with minimal effort or cost.
You all know that I do not use doilies often but this was a great addition to break up the cone. I invite you to stand back and “look at” where you are with a project…and when you think it needs a little “something-something” – just try to find an addition that will “enhance” rather than reinventing the wheel with a dramatic change (hope this makes sense)
To me, this little touch also gives a “texture” to the overall feel of the card!
Now that I have played with the stamps in the window shopping bundle….I need to do some fun posts with the adorable box/3-D that this bundle offers!
You can see how those 6″ X 6″ scrap squares are coming in handy after I re-organized my DSP getting ready for the NEW Catalog debut which is one week from today!!!! WOOT-WOOT!!!
It is not to late to take advantage of my Product Shares that I am offering for the NEW Catalog. You can click here and/or go to the drop down box (Product Shares) on my Blog Header. I will do a 2nd wave of shares…but that will not be until June 19th so if I were you…I would HOP IN NOW!
Enjoy the day and I will see you in the morning….please have your calendar handy as I am some FUN NEWS for you to jot down!
Sweet and yummy card! I am going to say that one scoop is a salted caramel ice cream with milk chocolate sprinkles or I guess maybe it could be coffee flavored with Heath bar sprinkles. The other could be a French vanilla hence needing a doily since it sounds kind of fancy smancy. But, it could pecan praline with some yummy praline tasting sprinkles. There is a lot going on with this card which I thought was sort of funny since it doesn’t look clean and simple but it sure screams happiness and maybe PAR TAY! Ohhhh, I just had a cold shudder thinking of the ice cream being Dijon mustard flavored. Yuck. Lets go with a praline or salted caramel color! Don’t get me wrong, I love my mustard but not with ice cream. Love all the tilting going on with the paper panels as well as the tilt of the ice cream cone. You are really wanting me to have some ice cream now and order that “jig” thing and sit and play with it while I get ice cream all over the place. Of course the stars and the little trio of Susan dots are cute touches.
By the way, this is one time we could use that fun color Baked Brown Sugar – perfect name and color for the cone etc. I just happened to use it on a donut card I made yesterday. Ted was so anxious to go for a walk to the post office I didn’t get a photo or anything to show what I did with my PP card. I hope I did get a stamp on it. I somehow misread his cue – he actually had to go potty but wanted to do it across the street. Anyway, maybe Jeanie will show it on her blog – I recut the pink frosting to look more realistic and sponged brown on that anemic looking donut and added more sprinkles and I used the liquid glass or whatever it is called on the printed sprinkles.
Susan, I love this card. It so amazing. Different colors, different stamps and you have a totally different card. You are amazing. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
Love the text backgrounds from today and previous! WOW! factor, Susan!
Cute ! I think I would like to try this Happy Birthday w/the “JIG” using a rainbow look ! I don`t have this stamp ,but after 100 years of stamping I bet I have something pretty close to it ! This is a great card for either gender .
I just thought about using the new Lemon Lime Twist color for the scoops to make it look like Sherbert !!
Fun card !!
Reminds me of my mother that use to take her Cocker Spaniel to Dairy Queen Drive In every Sunday afternoon for an ice cream cone !!!
My mom used to drive her humongous furry dog across the Mighty Miss to get a lottery ticket in Illinois every Sunday. On the way back, the bridge attendant would give Clancy biscuits on the Iowa side.
Did I ever tell you all that my big guy Murphy had his own ice cream lady who would give him a large sized people cone free instead of the little free puppy sized cones all the other dogs got. She would also take her break then and spoon or hand feed it to him. No wonder he gained so much weight. Then to top it off she would give him a dog biscuit or two from her car. The dog could see the ice cream place from the corner on our block. If he saw her car – he would make a bee line for the place!
Wow….what a difference colors and dies can make. Yesterday was royally sweet, today is ruggedly delicious! Love both of them!
