Hello and I hope that you are doing well! I bet you have thought that I was lost somewhere in cyber space…well – nope!!! I shared with you on Monday that I was going to the Doctors on Tuesday to hopefully have Mr. Green Bean removed.
Well….he is gone…… but Black Beauty is the new color. Needless to say I am sad, (actually very sad) but I know that this will pass. I chose “black” for obvious reasons….and I have 3 more weeks.
I wish that you all could be with me on Randall Lane for the pity party that I have been hosting…..unfortunately only the dogs have chose to join the fun. It takes a couple of days to get the new cast a bit comfy (if that it possible) but as promised –
LET’S HAVE SOME BLOG CANDY!
Over the weekend I shared with you that I was going to play with the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK….the Stampin’ Blends and yep, they have gone for a spin….actually a BIG SPIN as I purchased several of these below kits, Color Me Happy Project Kit.
These are NOT yet available for you to purchase (just for demos and new demos just until this Sunday, October 15th) but as I said… I purchased several to not only put together to get practice but to share for blog candy and also I’m sending a finished card to my downline so they can see first hand the fun kit and the stampin’ blends in action.
Does this below picture just make you smile…It sure made me smile. I have to say as an adult I think it is just fabulous that we get excited seeing something like this. You can never be too old to still have fun and simple joy in your life! New products bring me joy and I know it brings you joy as well!
I will do further posts on my thoughts and comments about the stamping blends… but I can honestly say… I love them. I am also a COPIC girl at heart but I knew when stamping up would come out with their own alcohol-based markers I had to have each and every color as they match our palette perfectly.
In the picture below you will see all of the contents of the kit.The kits will allow you to make 16 fabulous cards and I invite you to check out the envelopes… are they over-the-top or what? You all know that a beautiful envelope makes my heart pitter patter and this kit surely has done that!
What I will be giving away for blog candy today is…a completed card (4 in total) of each below and and a memento ink pad. You do need to use the Memento black ink when using an alcohol-based marker.I use this ink pad when I color with my COPIC markers so it was a easy transition for me.
How do you win? Easy… Just leave a comment and let me know how you feel about Stampin’ Up! having alcohol-based markers once again.
I am super excited to hear peoples thoughts and comments.Trust me, I realize that new products are not for everyone but I do love to hear your feedback.
I think that many people are intimidated that they feel that an alcohol-based marker means that you have to understand artistic techniques as well as light source/shading….I am here to tell you that is simply not true.
The main reason that I enjoy working with them is the fact that they just glide over your paper and their are no rough edges from where you stop and start using the same color.Honestly, they are perfect to use just as coloring and image in using one marker.
Enjoy the pictures…and on Saturday morning I will pop it back in and announce the winner along with a special that I am hosting Sunday through Tuesday just on my blog. (here’s a hint…..if you need to order, I would wait until Saturday to hear why)
This is the stamp set that I used to complete this Kit. When stamping up offers this as a product for everyone to purchase… It will be available as a bundle and then you will also be able to purchase additional kits if desired.I truly had fun coloring and trying to get to know and use these markers to my abilities.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this kit in action. It truly is stunning and when you hold one of these cards in your hand you just beam with pride – they are fun to put together and they are super practical cards . I admit, these color combinations that they put together I would not have come up with but when they’re all together I stood back and said WOW!
Enjoy your day… And please leave a comment …and on Saturday morning the winner will be announced as well as you will see the little something special that I have in store for you for Sunday – Monday and Tuesday.
If you are just itchin’ to get these super markers….email me – I would love to share with you the ease of getting them in your starter kit, the Ultimate Bundle…..
I am excited about the new alcohol-based markers……I am sure they have investigated the failure of the other markers to the “nth degree” & they will work fine. I usually don’t buy stamps that need a lot of coloring because of the “stop & start” effect from the regular markers. Although I have been experimenting with water coloring & have found that to be much better. You have done a great job of coloring on your card samples…..even with “black beauty”!! 3 weeks will fly by!!!!
Hi Suasan! How do the new blends compare with the blendabilities from a few years ago? Most of mine still work. Lucky me! Also, what cardstock do you suggest for the blends? Excited to play with anything alcohol related! Haha! (Side note: enjoying using my ribbon shares from you; plenty of variety to keep me busy!)
Susan, I think black will be very stylish for Halloween!! Good choice and changing colors is a great way to SCRATCH!!I am thrilled that Stampin’ Up! has perfected their blendable alcohol markers!! What a great addition to our coloring tools! I still have all of the blendable packs from years ago. I was lucky mine were moist and ready to go. It makes me so happy to have the colors in our unique palette because I am a matchy-matchy sort of person.
I am a new demo and while I have never used the blendabilities, I have seen many negative comments about them as well as skepticism about the new ones. Because they are expensive, I plan to wait to hear some comments from others first before buying. I do like the cards in the kit!
Well now I am very excited about the new Blends. I got them all and they arrived last night. I’m quite sure hubby will not be excited by the new Blends (being as I have 100 or so Copics) so I just smuggled the new pens in but did show him my other stash (did I really just buy 8 stamps sets, a punch, two sets of dies, one embossing folder, and DSP? can you say ‘excessive’?! well, obviously now excessive enough because now I need that kit! which didn’t interest me until I got the Blends handout in my order). Anyway…. One thing I have always loved with SU is the matchy matchy so I’m excited to have these. I did have a little list of what Copics “matched” what SU colors like 4 or 5 of them. Well, where was I going with this comment? Um…. yeah. Go markers!
Oh Sweet Susan…..I pray for a quick and complete recovery. You rock girl!
I am thrilled SU brought back the alcohol markers. I think they felt the need to redeem themselves from what happened with the Blendabilities and knowing SU’s quality, I feel comfortable they have the problem solved. Copic markers are intimidating to some people as well as the price point is intimidating, so I think we have a win/win situation with SU now… Alcohol markers available once again, coordinating with their color family of products, and at a reasonable price. Way to go SU!
I’d love to win your blog candy. Thanks for the giveaway.
I also love my Copics so I am curious how well they work compared to my Copics. I love coloring so I am always willing to try new things. I am very happy that Stampin Up didn’t just throw in the towel on their Alcohol based markers and decided togive them another try! Hopefully there will be no problems with these ones!!
Wow! Happy to see these back on the market. Can’t wait to order them and get busy relearning how to use them. You did a beautiful job of coloring the samples in spite of your limitations. Hope I win and thanks for the opportunity.
First Susan I am hoping the next 3 weeks in your new cast will be the final chapter in this episode!
Secondly I am sure that SU has had the chance to test out these new markers and that they will be a big hit! Thanks for the blog candy too!
I never did get any of the other alcohol based SU inks, so am excited to try the new ones. Any idea when we can buy them? I’d love some Mememto black too, as I don’t have any or Copics. Thanks for the chance, Susan. Feel better soon, OK?
I am excited about the new alcohol markers. I was so disappointed when they discontinued the Blendibilities. I can’t wait to get mine and play.
Hi Susan! I’m sure you are looking forward to getting your cast off! When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!! I appreciate your posts even though I’m sure it’s been difficult! I just received these yesterday and haven’t had a chance to play with them yet, but I’m excited to! It would be so nice to have a “Susan original” card!! Thanks for the wonderful blog candy!!
I’m no expert on coloring but I’m happy to try new things out! Not sure I have any opinion on the new markers!
I DO LOVE that thank you stamp, though lol! I’d love to see SU make a set just like it with lots of sentiments!
Sorry your needing your cast still, but glad they are being cautious! My son had hardware removed from his femur & three days later started therapy. At therapy his second lap down the hall his bone snapped in 2!!!! Thankfully we were in the hospital when it happened, but emergency surgery & weeks of healing later we wished we could’ve seen the hairline that the x-ray didn’t show. Sorry for the long comment, but be encouraged that they are watching out for you! Hugs! And thanks for the chance at the blog candy! 🙂
Yipppeee!! So happy! Love to color and I really need this therapy uUr entire state is on fire her in CA and being situated in N Ca especially. I would love to have some color to wash away all of the smoke, haze and ash right now Lots of family and friends in harms way but staying positive with prayer and good thoughts. So glad these are being introduced I had the other SU ones and want to pleased So glad that SU went back to the drawing board and developed these new pens…PS Wish I was on that lake right now..that would relieve some of this stress-doesnt’ help that I also work in the insurance world and trying to help clients with their losses too.
I have Copics and they are wonderful BUT ….they are not SU colors . Yay for SU for trying again .
Your cards are really pretty ….
BTW …you are in good company with your cast ….I think half of the NFL teams have players that have broken something this year !! I have never seen a BLACK cast !! HOW SEXY !!
You poor thing…well hopefully you will be out your cast by the holidays.
I’m not great (or even good) at coloring but I’m going to give the markers a try. I’m need to search some videos this weekend for a lesson.
Feel better!
I’m so excited they are back!! The markers make flowers come alive.
I felt a little “abandoned “ when Stampin Up abruptly stopped the old ones after Salabration a couple of years ago, so I just pushed them to the back of the drawer after very little use. So I am hoping to learn to love them this time as I use them. Hope the next three weeks go fast for you – yikes, that will be November!,
I love to color. I have never used Stampin’ Up’s blenders, but am looking forward to trying them. Sorry you are still in a cast. Basic black can look so classy and stylish. Hang in there.
Black is so elegant and goes well with any color you wear. You can bling it up with some rhinestones! Your cards are so adorable and the coloring is blended so nicely. I love to color and I am excited about the new blends. Can’t wait to see a video on them as well. Enjoy!
I am over the moon happy that SU is offering new alcohol based markers!!! I had not gotten the first round so I am excited. The kit and stamp combo that is highlighted with them is sooooo cute!!! Do I spy enevelope liners????!!!! I just love those too.
Was hoping you would be without your cast, I am sorry for your disappointment. Hoping you are plowing ahead and enjoying these new products is helping. ?
Hey Susan! Glad you got the bigger cast off. Hope your adjustment to the new one goes easily. I am starting to color some and really look forward to the SU offering. Your cards are super fun & well done, as always. I missed your blogging alot!
I am a COPIC marker user too and love that SU is having alcohol based markers return. The regular markers are great but not for color blending.
Love your blog!
I am glad they are coming back with the markers. I am “shading challenged” and I hope the new markers will help. Your cards are amazing! Thanks for the chance to win.
So sorry that you are still in a cast but hopefully 3 weeks will fly by quickly. I am up to trying new products but I am sort of ignorant as to what alcohol based markers do vs the current markers that SU sells.. so can’t really comment on that piece.
Thanks for the chance to win blog candy….
I am excited about the new markers, especially when I see these cute birds on your pretty cards! And I am happy to hear how easy you find them to work with. Looking forward to trying the alcohol based markers soon! Thanks for a chance to win. Best wishes with your health challenges, Susan.
I am new to coloring. I have done a little. Excited for the new alcohol based markers. Your cards are lovely. Thanks for a chance to win.
I think I need this kit!! I am not sure what my opinion is…never had them the first time around. Been itching to try Copics but I have so many markers already and more markers = more $. I have used Copics at classes tho and they do color really nice with no lines. My favorite thing abt Su colors is everything matches Su stuff. SO if I did get alcohol based markers it’d be nice to have Su ones also.
Hi! I have to admit I never bought the Blendabilities when they were available before but did try them with my demonstrator. I really liked the ease of use so am excited about the new products. Thank you!
I haven’t used COPICs or Stampin Up’s previous attempt at alcohol based markers. What makes them better than the markers they already have?
So excited, it’s like Christmas morning!!!! And hopefully, Christmas morning will be full of these new markers!
Hopefully this time around it will be a win-win. I didn’t purchase the others so may sit on the fence before making the investment. Glad you are on the mend and will be a 100 per cent before the holidays are here. Thank you for the opportunity to win blog candy.
I don’t enjoy coloring to much and don’t many stamps that require coloring. I love the two step stamping and not sure I will purchase any of the new markers. I didn’t purchase any last time and was glad I didn’t when SU all the problems with them. I will probably wait and see what ever else says and then decide. Sorry you are still in a cast, but the black will great for Halloween, you be styling with it.
I’m a newbie to these markers. Can’t wait to try them.
I am super excited & cant wait to give them a try!
I am exited because I always wanted to try copics. But I still feel intimidated about shading. I am not an artist nor see in that view. I can stamp and embellish. Can’t wait to get some and try it out.
I have mixed feeling about alcohol markers. My hand isn’t very steady any more and the fact that they “bleed” also makes them slightly more difficult to color with.
So excited for markers again! I loved them before and now that they are coming back, I just can’t wait! Coloring is my THING 🙂 Thanks for a chance to win your awesome Blog Candy!
Hi Susan, I am so looking forward to trying these blends! I never got into Copics or the previous SU alcohol markers. I just know these will be the best ones! Maybe they will get me into coloring a little bit.
Have a great day!
🙂
I am very excited they are trying them again!!
Susan have sure missed your daily cards and comments. So sorry for you that it will be longer but I know you are a strong person and have a family and friends to encourage you…I liked the blenderables last time .looking forward to getting these again. Love and hugs to you from your stampin friend in Texas.
I too like & use Copic pens but find that not all colors match up with Stampin Up products. Nice to find that with the new Stampin’ Blends the colors will be more true.
Yippee! But now to get real…I had them on my order form, then removed them. Do I really need them? No. Do I really want them? Yes. Please convince me that I actually need them, Susan! They look as pretty as I thought they would. I need that little push.
Happy to know Stampin’ Up is trying these markers again. I purchased two packs of the old ones before they discontinued them, and was sad to see them go….hopefully these will be even better….thanks for the chance to win…
You make these new markets sound delightful! Can’t wait to take them for a spin!
I have purchased the set, going to try them out this weekend. Hope they are as nice as everyone says they are. Thanks for a chance to win. Hope your cast and you are getting along, remember to play nice…lol
I would like to learn how to use these. Coloring is not my favorite thing but I’m willing to give it a shot.
Thanks so much for the great design ideas for color me happy set. I’m so design challenged, and love to see such great ways to use the stamps. And, thanks for the good info on the alcohol markers.
I have been playing with the old version on some elves and they look ok but my blending needs some work. I only have one Coptic marker so no idea of how they are similar or not. I still love my water color pencils. I guess I will have to order some colors to play with and see how I do. I like your samples. What can I say but sensory overload.
Maybe you can bling up black beauty with some signature dots and some bling like a diamond bracelet on it. Wishing you big cyber hugs for a speedy recovery.
Oh the whole line of those markers is so beautiful!! I love to color and use many different mediums. Can’t wait to try these. Sorry about your new cast.
Hi Susan, I’m excited about the new markers. Love the pic of them. It will be fun to play with them. New toys! I like the card kit as well. Hope your wrist heals quickly. Hugs!
I’m super excited about SU bringing back the blending markers. I didn’t get the others before they were discontinued.
The cards in the kit are awesome! Thnaks for the opportunity to possibly win a few.
Chin up!
Black beauty will be gone before you know it.
I have only ever used the regular markers so these sound pretty awesome and the cards you showed looked great, not sure if I can do that!! Feel better soon!
I am glad they brought them back. I just wish they would make refills for them.
I am very excited that alcohol markers are back and can hardly wait to use them! It was a big disappointment that they had to pull the first ones.
You have my sympathy regarding the extended time in a cast–managing can’t be easy! I have mixed emotions about the new markers and am going to wait before ordering any to see what the majority say about their performance. I do already have many other coloring mediums I enjoy.
I am so very HAPPY that Stampin Up is having alcohol based markers again! I was bummed when they stopped them . . so I am very much looking forward to being able to purchase them! Have a good day Susan . . stay well.
I am glad the alcohol markers are back because they will match the SU colors perfectly. Your card samples look great.
Only three more weeks….. take care.
Hi Susan, I’m like a cat–curious about the new markers, but I’ve really enjoyed the blender pens and aqua painter, so I’m probably going to be cautious about really jumping in. Your samples, though, make the markers more tempting!
Looking forward to playing with Stampin’ Blends. Such a great way to personalize all the great SU stamps.
I love the fact that they match up with our inks. I have never used alcohol markers so I am looking forward to giving them a try!
I can’t wait! I LOVED the Blendabilities – the ones I ordered worked. Missed your posts….hang in there, God slows us down for a reason.
Hang in there, you will be back up to speed in no time! I’m excited about trying the new markers, always up for a challenge!
OK so my Stampin’ Blends are sitting on my desk waiting to be unwrapped. After reading your post & seeing what an awesome job you did, I’m going right over there and getting started today!!! Loved the Blendabilites and I think these will be even better! Good luck with the next 3 wks-hoping they fly by!!
I loved the Blendabilities and did not have any issues with the ones I have… I was sad to see them go, but can’t wait to see these! Very pretty cards!
I’m so glad to hear that the dogs have been supportive of your blues (or should I say “blacks?”)! As someone already noted, black is perfect for Halloween, Susan. I’m excited about the new markers and hope that they prove as fun and easy to use as the watercolor pencils are. I think these new tools will greatly enhance everyone”s creativity. Thank you for an opportunity to leave a comment. Janice
I’m really excited to get some of the new markers! I was just about to order the older ones when SU took them off the market.
Love using alcohol inks and having them match up with SU colors is a yummy treat.
I was excited to hear that Stampin Up will be offering alcohol markers again. I am waiting with anticipation for when we are able to order them. I also appreciate seeing a picture of the stamp set we will be able to get. So cute! Thanks for sharing!
I am excited about the Blends. After the earlier markers, I know Stampin Up! has gotten these Blends right! Alcohol markers are easier for me than other markers and hopefully the price to us will be more affordable than some out there! It’s generous of you to offer some as blog candy!
Sorry about Blackie. I barely used the previous markers before they were discontinued. Only had gotten 3 of the colors. Will definitely be getting these. Saw the storage unit for them. Someone is expecting a lot more colors.
Susan, I kept the original alcohol markers and use them occasionally; I love alcohol markers; they really do justice for a colored and blended image. Glad SU decided to bring them back. Sorry about Green now becoming Black, but that is only 3 more weeks compared to how long you wore Mr. Green. Hang in there!
