*** WARNING: this is a long post but a GREAT ONE to help you get organized….and lots of other stuff….grab a cup of whatever and ENJOY!

Hello to all and I know that we are all aware that the NEW Stampin’ Up! Catalog goes live on Tuesday June 4th and as usual…it will be an exciting time to see the new kids on the block!

Today is all about organization…as it always seems to be a HOT TOPIC and one that we all enjoy! Before we yack about being organized I want to share with you…

I WILL ONLY BE DOING 1 PRODUCT SHARE for the NEW ANNUAL CATALOG!

You can CLICK HERE to see the blog post of the Product Share and if you still want to get a Product Share you have until Sunday, June 2nd to secure a spot.

I have sent of all confirmations and I am invoicing now…..so if you have not heard from me….than reach out! It is a HUGE JOB but one that I adore doing and I know that you will be smiling when you receive THE GOODS! 🙂

Now let’s GET TO IT……It’s ORGANIZE TIME!

I have been taking time in organizing my Craft Area and if you follow my Blog, you already know that I ADORE ORGANIZATION IDEAS and I also LOVE to share them with you! My feeling is….why not share as it might just be the right solution for you!

Please know that there are soooooo many ways out there that people organize their paper but I have used this system for years and it is still a BLUE RIBBON WINNER for me!

Are you ready for this…..I will have all of my NEW DSP from the New Catalog in ONE CONTAINER….yep….1 container and I am all ready to rumble when the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK make their way from Utah to Randall Lane.

Everything is labeled and all I need to do is open the paper….slide it in and PRESTO…and everything in 1 spot and that makes me super happy! 🙂

I have blogged about this before but I am going to go over it again and also list some bullet points that I think that you will be able to follow…PLEASE, PLEASE – feel free to email me or leave a comment if you need clarity and also have any other ideas that you would like to share!

I have not had to purchase any of these things I am linking for you as once you have them – you can use them over and over each and every time a new offering comes along…..all you need to do is peel off the label that lists the DSP in the folder….and make a new label with the NEW DSP name….and you are good to go!

I will try my best to convey the message I am trying to get to you…..(darn, another reason why there should be a STAMPER/CRAFT State that we could all gravitate to and learn from each other)….here you go. It is an investment but one that you will see that you use over and over for years to come.

Actually….many of mine are back to the days of being a Creative Memories Consultant…and as anything in life….once you get the “right” products from the start…there will be no reason to reinvent the wheel!

To start with you need 1 of these (container on my shelf to the left) – this is Paper Holder…..well actually I do have (2) of them as I do have one that keeps my specialty paper in (like gold, silver foil sheets….Glimmer Papers…Window Sheets etc…) but for most of you – 1 will work for your DSP but trust me….you will not need more than 2.

I have as many of these folders as there are papers….remember…there are (3) of them in an order so make sure that IF you get this system…that you are not ordering to many! I have 12 of them in one of the paper holders.

Next….the dividers – just as above…..there are (3) of them in an order so again, order accordingly as I think these are KEY to separating your full sheets and scraps of each specific DSP.

Here is the gadget that I would never be without and also something that I often purchase for a gift! It is so practical and it is something that once you get into the habit of using it…you will never be without it! The P Touch Label Maker – this is a GREAT price and trust me…if you have a person that is hard to buy for….this is a super gift!

Naturally you will need the tape for the label maker and I always buy the knock off brand as it is soooo much cheaper and it works great (I have never had any issues with the quality)

This is how I set my system up!

  • Label the outside of the Paper Holder with Annual Catalog and then if you bought another one….than I would put Holiday Catalog it Misc. Specialty Papers
  • On the file folders – cut the tabs off of the top edges (these little things are annoying) as you will put your DSP Label on the file folder so you do not need the tabs.
  • Make a Label – for example Magnolia Lane and then a Label that says Magnolia Lane Scraps
  • Place the labels on the folder and then the Scraps one on the divider.

PRESTO – you are going to be so darn tootin’ happy – so much so that you are going to dance in your craft room often as this saves having so much crazy paper here…there and everywhere!!!

My rule of thumb…I keep all full sheets in front of the dividers and then the scraps of that specific DSP Collection behind the divider.

Here is the other product that keeps me organized…and one that I would never ever be without! It is the DSP Swatch Books that I make up as part of my Product Share Offering…..These HANDY DANDY things save me so much time in not having to DIG THROUGH a bunch of paper looking for a great compliment to whatever project I am working on.

Together…these 2 things (the Paper Organizer and my Swatch Books) make keeping my DSP in order.

Trust me, I “get it” that the DSP Swatch Books are pricy…but I am tellin’ you…they save you so much time! All of the product info is right there for you in ONE HANDY SPOT! Once you get used to having them…you will never be without them as it is a great way to see and share all of the papers in one handy booklet.

Ok – my fingers are pooped! I could just go on and on about topics and ideas of Organization….it is sooooo my wheel house as when I am organized…I am HAPPY…it is as simple as that!

I know that I have not been blogging a bunch but I just had to share this with you as these types of things make me SUPER HAPPY.…as I know that we all can buy…buy ..buy…..but then we seem to get overwhelmed and frustrated with all of “the stuff” we collect.

As I said above…these types of posts that I can share with you little tips and tricks that work for me….make me hope that I can be of help to you in not being overwhelmed.

Trust me, I have BEEN THERE…DONE THAT!

Chances are…I will be there again and when that happens – the BEST way to get a grip on what I have is to regroup and reorganize! There is just something magical about knowing where things are so you can enjoy the process! Personally I have always found that I am simply not productive when things are not in “their homes” – and I end up feeling like a dog chasing its tail!

In closing….please remember that if you want to take part of my Annual Catalog Product Share…the final day to secure a spot is this Sunday, June 2nd. I will be figuring out my order and once I place it on the 4th….it is in and then it is my turn to crank them out for you in a ZOOM fashion!

I have decided only to do one share as Stampin’ Up! have already identified that there is already one ribbon and one embellishment that are on backorder already and honestly…it is just as frustrating to me as it is to you….as I realize that we are launching a new catalog. Trust me, I will be like Cinderella waiting for the magical time to order….this is why I am only doing one share…..

Please know that I always strive to be as upfront and always honest to you about things that I promote and suggest. Yesterday, Demonstrators woke up to an announcement from the Home Office that they decided to discount many of the retired products.

True this is GREAT news….but to be totally upfront and honest with you…..it caused many frustrations with Demonstrators as we were told on May 8th that they (the company/Home Office) decided NOT TO DISCOUNT any of the retired products this year….and being the messengers to you…..we share what we are given.

I am a person of integrity and I want you to know that I communicate what I know when it is in writing….and yep, the Home Office had that in writing on May 8th. Please know that these decisions are totally out of my hands and all of the great Demonstrators out there….and yep, I am am sorry if you have already purchased retired products and now they are discounted.

If you are interested in seeing the Retired Products that are now discounted…..you can CLICK HERE and see the offerings. There are some great items there but also I remind you that the NEW CATALOG will be coming out on Tuesday!

Thank you for hanging in there today and I do hope that this post inspired you a wee bit on how you can have a system for your DSP and have it not take up a bunch of room! To me, the BEST PART is….year after year….catalog after catalog…you can peel off the label and reuse the folders!

If you are wishing to get into my Annual Catalog Product Share……please email me and put in the subject line – PRODUCT SHARE so I can SPOT IT….and for those of you that have already sent me a request….I have sent out all confirmations/communications to you….so if you did not hear from me…..EMAIL ME…as it fell through the cyber loops!

Have a GREAT weekend….I sure plan to and on Monday I will share with you an item from the NEW CATALOG that I just know will bring a smile to your face…as I say – it’s a KEEPER!
