Today is a very special day for me…many of my friends…but more importantly a day that is special to a very beautiful lady and friend, Catherine Ann! Today, May 30th is the last day of treatment for my friend as she has been battling breast cancer!
Today's card is simple…uncomplicated…beautiful…peaceful and elegant = everything that reminds me of Catherine Ann! We celebrate YOU today and I personally thank you for the inspiration and courage you show to so many….WOOT-WOOT for today!
One of the things I love about blogging daily is that I can intertwine my own "life" messages through my blogs…much like I do when I sit down to create cards! Please know how important and powerful it is to send a note letting someone know that you are thinking of them and care!
This IS the reason I make cards for Breast Cancer patients, as I know 1st hand from my late Mom…that it was the cards and wishes that brought daily joy to days that she was simply "down"…
I found this image and it spoke to me as it truly reminds me of everything that not only Catherine Ann stands for…but also how her family lives their daily lives! Catherine Ann has the most incredible husband in the world and 3 boys that are her "bear-cubs" that love and support their Mom so….I hope that you enjoy this and it can reflect to your outlook on life!
- Very Vanilla was my base color of choice and then I cut another piece of Very Vanilla just a 1/4" smaller….5 1/4 X 4" and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder!
- TIP – I put pieces of Sticky Strip on the back BEFORE I emboss….makes it super easy to peel off and not loose the beautiful embossed image from pressing too hard when you place it!
- Using the Big Shot again, I cut out in Vanilla and Raspberry Ripple the Top Note Die!
- Using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig ( as I find it always to be a life saver…) I stamped my image in Raspberry Ripple with the amazing sentiment from the Feels Good Stamp Set!
- The little butterflies were stamped from the Papillion Potpourri Stamp Set on scrap paper and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch…so easy!
- I did "roll" the butterflies around a pencil to give it "flutters" and then used a tiny piece of Stampin' Dimensionals for "lift-off" – but the main "lift" came from when I DOUBLED mounted the Stampin' Dimensionals behind the Top Note to really lift it up!!!
- The envelope is super cute and clean with a perfect designer paper from the Print Poetry Paper Stack….just love this paper pack!
Well, that's it….A super quick and simple card! I do hope that you CASE it and whenever you do…please think of Catherine Ann and her bravery to continue to "soar" through life!
If you wish…please leave a comment for Catherine Ann…I think we all know of someone that has had to face times of challenges and I know all of you out there know exactly where I am coming from!
Tomorrow is our SUPER exciting day!
Tomorrow's post I will be sharing with you the 10 things I need to order

Until tomorrow……

God bless Catherine Ann and God bless
you too Susan. Cards are a wonderful
way to brighten someone’s day.
Sending positive thoughts and love to your dear friend.
As a cancer survivor, I know how much cards mean to someone who is I going through treatment.
This card is lovely and I love this stamp set.

Prayers for Catherine Ann and cheers to. I love reading your blog and getting that daily inspiration!!! can’t wait for your Top 10.
What a beautiful card for a beautiful occasion. I, too, am a cancer survivor, and would have loved getting this card. Please tell Catherine Ann that she is in my prayers. I also have one card-related question. I love how you always add DSP to your envelopes. Do you line them on the inside, or just put DSP on the outside of the flap? Thanks for all your great inspiration.
I have gone back and looked, and I think you do both. Is that right?
Hugs to both of you! What a wonderful card! Thanks for sharing your life with us Susan!
What a beautiful tribute to your friend and the importance she has in your life. I trust all goes well for her from here on. Also, I liked your suggestion of putting sticky strip on before embossing..easy fix.
