Good Sunday morning to you! Here is the adorable snowman from the Snow Place Bundle and boy is he super cute today, (well I thought that he was super cute yesterday but today, he is POPPING right off from that black background.)
I bet I am using a product that many of you do not have….and it is a product that I admit that I do not use a bunch but boy….when I do – I LOVE it as there is always a great contrast that happens in an instant! It is the White Staz On ink.
You can see for yourself that they are both super fun and it all comes done to that TIME FACTOR! Darn, that gets us every time! (ha-ha…)
Using the White Staz On to me, makes a big difference. It dries quickly and it does make a fun statement. Have you ever tried it! Remember, the color "white" makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE"
"White" is a key factor to me in making "clean and simple" cards…Usually I do it the opposite than I am doing today but here you can see how the "white ink" makes the pop on the dark paper ~ Mr. Snowman looks happy in the snow!
In the below pictures you will see how I added the FUN FRU-FRU to the card…remember, it is the simple and little things that make a difference!
Because I struggle with making a bow I always find it easier to just add a bow on top of the piece of ribbon, it looks great and the ease of using a glue dot to hold a bow tight works like a charm!
Both of these cards are cute and the best thing is that they are really easy to make. This would be a great card to "Mass Produce" – You know what I am going to say….break it down and take steps. If I did a bunch of these, I would…do a little at a time
- Cut all of the paper and score the base
- Use the white piece that is going to be covered up with the black to stamp the snowman and sentiment
- Cut the ribbon and make the bows
- Cut the envelope paper and make the envelopes (this paper is soooo affordable)
I find if I break a project down to steps I enjoy the journey much better! I think that we have all been there before and I think that you know what I am talking about, we have great intentions on making a project but then that time thing gets in our way, by breaking it down I think it makes the whole process more enjoyable.
Again, Envelope Punch Board to the rescue…just follow the measurements for a 4 1/2" card and you are good to go! This is a must have tool as you will be amazed at how many odd shaped cards you will make when you have this gem!
This is a card that I would be super happy to send out, even if it requires extra postage since it is a square card! What do you think…Which one do you like?
Please feel free to leave a comment, we all love to hear everyones thoughts! I hope that you will come back tomorrow as I have super FAST…FUN Halloween treat for you to make that is super sweet and super easy = just like I like them ~ SIMPLE!
I love, love, love BOTH of these cards – That snowman is one cutie pa-tootie! I would never have thought to use the pom poms this way and they are the best! Also would not have know what to do with the corrugated paper so thanks for that tip as well. As always, you do an awesome job! Thanks for all you do and sharing with us. Hugs and happy Sunday!
These are both so very cute!
Frosty never looked so good! Love the white snowflakes and poms! You are so clever, Susan! Hugs and happy Sunday!
Well, I do not use my White Craft ink much (in fact it is sadly neglected ) but your cute snowflakes have made me want to try some of those !! Your cards are so cheerful ….who wouldn`t love that little Snow Guy . So cute and I like both cards a bunch .
Love both cards. Thanks for sharing the tips about the white ink. It is on my list of “Maybe I should get this”. Now I really want to try it. Look forward to your cute Halloween idea. I did your brooms and the paper pumpkin brooms (which are now haystacks for November). One more treat would be fun.
I only use my white stazon ink for Christmas projects but each time I use it I get a ton of compliments because of the unique effect it has. i love both cards!! I hope you’ve been enjoying your weekend with Hannah. Hugs from Wisconsin. 🙂
I follow you every day-don’t think I’ve commented before though. I LOVE white background. Today’s card I think pom poms etc makes it much to busy. Just my opinion. Keep up the great work…
SNOW much fun for sure! That background is wonderful! It has been ages since I used the white on a background or a cello bag – probably in a card class. It makes it look like it is night time when he can run and play in the snow without everyone watching! Like Frosty over the hills he goes! Anyway, I loved yesterdays but maybe today just won out with that background. Though I don’t think I like the white baker’s twine so much as it takes away from the cute pom poms and the bow itself. But, that is just my opinion! Boy, was I wrong about the Dazxling Diamonds and a snowflake embellishment! Oh, maybe one of those in the middle of the bow with the pom poms would look fun? Great job on both and thanks for all the great tips, Thumpetity thump, thump, over the hills he goes! Hope you all had a great time with Hannah. Save journey back home!
Thanks for these two cute cards and all the tips on how to make them. I agree the white Staz On makes a big difference. I’ll be putting that on my list. Both cards are great, but I prefer today’s stepped up card more. TFS
I love both versions! The snowman does pop a little more on the black, but if someone never saw both of them together, they would never know!
I hope your trip home is safe and all the animals did well in your absence!
Cyberhugs!
I really loved your first card, but today’s is even better! The black background really helps to make all the other features “pop”. Thank you for the beautiful design.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE both of these cards. I was away all last week. I was on a bus trip at Myrtle Beach. Wish I was still there,LOL,,,, Anyways I checked your blog everyday I was away. I LOVE everything you post. Thanks so much for sharing. I have some christmas cards made but now that I’m back I gotta get going and these will be some of my cards. Thank you so much for all you do. Have a great day Susan
