Good Morning! This is the 2nd card I am attempting to make this week using the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set and also the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper! This is for my Goddaughters 15th Birthday! I think it is super cute and will definitely put a smile on her face!
I need to clarify something…it is not my birthday this week…it is 3 of my friends birthdays! Trust me….this is my 50th this year in October and you'll know…but thanks anyways for all of the Birthday wishes!
Well….you know how the saying goes….there is a lot that can happen in 24 hours…well let me tell you – this is what happen to me Monday – Tuesday! It was all good as I was with my beautiful daughter but…this is what we had to deal with…Y U C K !!!
We went to a Horse Show at State College in PA and they had 5 1/2" of rain within an hour a couple of days ago and everyday since they have had a huge downpour everyday! YUCK!!! Fortunately for us….we were in and out within 24 hours but the rest of the barn is there for a week! I love being back and dry! She rode beautifully and her horse, Oscar, was stellar!
Now to the super cute card! Super easy to make….heck anything is easy to make if you have the right tools! Little by little as you build up your inventory of goodies and tools you will see how easy and efficiently card making is!

- The card base is a regular A-2 card size on Whisper White
- I stamped the sentiment using the Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement and the sentiment came from the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set
- Using the polka dot paper from the Birthday Basics Paper Pack…I cut 1" strips and simply adhered them on the diagonal!
- To coordinate the colors within the polka dot paper, I used the Summer Starfruit and the Bermuda bay…Pulling out "Mr. Big Shot", I cut 2 frames from the Windows Framelits!
- To add a bit of pizzazz…I pulled out the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and pierced away….it is super fun to do and something I often forget about!
- I popped this up with the stampin dimensionals!
- Now to the fun part….Emerson is turning 15….so I rolled up a $1.00 & a $5.00 bill (the 1 does not cooperate like the 5…but it is still fun!!!) – simply put a band of the paper around and BAM! The flame came from the candle in the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set!
- The envelope line…..sooooo cute! I love these party hats…this came from the same Designer Series Paper, Birthday Basics!
I wanted to something more with this cute candle stamp….so why not stamp the outer part of the envelope as well? Doesn't this look fun!!!
2 down….one more to go this week! Birthday's in July are plentiful!!! Are you ready for the 4th! Hopefully you have plans to do something fun with family? This time of year always brings out lots of "grillin' while chillin'!!!"
Tonight is my monthly "feel good" when we make cards for Breast Cancer patients that are currently in treatment! It is a fun way to give back to your community and it is a wonderful way to get to meet volunteers that come to create cards!
Enjoy the day….and please tell your friends and family about my blog…you can simply subscribe right here ( in the upper right) and you will never miss a dose of inspiration!
Until tomorrow……

Thanks again, Susan for a great idea.
The money part is always the right thing
to do. Can’t exchange that. You are so
clever. Have a fun 4th.
Now this is a clever approach to giving money. Must remember it. So cute! Happy Independence Day.
Cute card and I love that paper. Have to agree with Doris, clever way to give money:)
Darling card! That is such a great idea. My Great niece is turning 5 this month. She will love this card. Ya’ see; I’m not just a Good Aunt, I’m a Great Aunt!!! =) Thanks for sharing!
Susan, this is super cute and clever! She will love it 🙂 Sorry you had such a wet trip to PA 🙁 You were within a 100 miles of me! Hope you make it back to PA sometime when things are a little more “delightful” around here, haha!
Cute idea! Glad I am not the only one who misread and thought it was your birthday too!
Love this idea … Very clever for some of those special birthdays … 20, 21, 25, etc.!
