For all of you "Moms" out there…you know where I am coming from today! My oldest son is coming home and I cannot wait to see him! Will has lived in China for 4 years and even though he has been home for a week here and there….he is coming back to the states and will be teaching in Boston – I am SUPER EXCITED to have him closer!
Today's card will be by his bed for him to read a special note – a "love note from MOM" letting him know how special it is to have him home and how proud we are of him and all of his accomplishments !
Here is the highlights of this clean and simple card! The 1st thing I want to point out is that I used the Notecards and Envelopes…an item that you simply must have as they are lifesavers when you need something quick – plus they are a bargain – 20 cards and envelopes for $5.95 – WOOT-WOOT!!!!

This sentiment is just how I feel….as it is a "happy day" for my husband and I! This came from the stamp set Happy Day and but…is it a keeper!!!! It is amazing how simple sentiments like this can create such a great and effective impact! Another gem that should be on your "A list" to have!

The stamp set, Six Sided Sampler is the other "key" element to this clean and simple card. Now this is one that IS A MUST TO OWN…soooo darn versatile! Just Google samples using this and you will be WOWED! A quick stamp with Elegant Eggplant and a POP with the Hexagon Punch and then a lift with the Stampin' Dimensionals.…quick, fun, fast and DONE!!!

As you can see keeping things to a "minimal" it the key and fun factor to making this card special! I wanted to really focus on the "white" as I think it is always so classic!
The simple "bling" came from the 3/4" Chevron Ribbon in Crushed Curry( love this color)! I must admit…I was not a fan of this ribbon but not it is really growing on me…..it is super soft and you just need to "play" with it and it does amazing things! The simple Regal Button was the perfect touch!
The envelope came to life with the Regals Designer Series Paper….and the help of the new…Envelope Liner Framelit.…(hang tight – you can order it on Thursday)…

When most of you are seeing this post, my dear son Will is in the air on his long trek to the states! Please keep him in your thoughts for a safe journey….I am sure I will be a waterfall when I get to give him a big Mom hug!
Thanks for popping by and thank you for your comments! Let's all have a great week….
Until tomorrow……

OMG … I am just so happy for your son coming home. My daughter went to college and never came home. If I knew that on that day we dropped her off, well, I don’t know. Visits are great but living closer is so much better.
Oh, the card! Love the button on the ribbon, love the colors.
Have a great day and a wonderful time catching up.
OMGoodness…you must be so elated!!! I’m so happy for you!
This is a great layout (CAS) for a card and one that I could make easily for a lot of different occasions. I will have to keep this one on hand. Thank you so much for sharing! Have BIG fun with your son!
Prayers for his safe travels and may God’s grace abide with all of you.
The card is super and simple tells it like it is.
So excited for you…your cards always make me smile. Always perky and fun!!
What a cute card to welcome your son home. I know you will enjoy him. Thanks for sharing.
I bet you are on cloud nine and so excited! I felt the same way when my son came home from Iraq. And I am sure your card will make your son have a happy day, too! Have loads of fun together!
It’s always nice to have your kids closer to home:)
That card is to cute, Susan, I think I will use it in my Stamping 101 class I’m planning, simple but several different things to do on it ( idea are endless – just like colors) and of course lining the envelope is the icing on the cake.
Great Card. It’s hard to do a card a boy will like, but I think he’ll appreciate this. So happy for you to have your kids close.
My oldest just returned from 3 months in San Francisco on a job at a hospital there. Seemed like forever, I can’t imagine 4 years in another country!
I am sooo excited for you! Now you can come on a road trip with me to Massachusetts to go visit Will. 🙂
