This is an unusual post for me for 2 reasons….
- It is a bit late…but at the same time I did not want to post it as I know Lydia follows my blog and I did not want to spoil a surprise! Lydia is my youngest son's girlfriend and she just turned 22!
- This is the 1st time I am showcasing a Stampin' Up! item that is no longer available….( and that feels really weird!!!!) but you'll understand….hang on!
My son came home for the weekend to help me with preparing our house for John to come home and very randomly he asked me…."Mom, did anything come today?" – well, sure enough something did come in his name which was strange to me as he is off on his own….
When he showed me what it was I had a huge smile on my face! His girlfriend also came up for the weekend to be a help to me and he had shipped to the house an adorable necklace that was almost the exact same "elephant" that is on this card!

The light-bulb went off immediately as I knew that this stamp ( that I still had) was the perfect stamp for her card! She is such an amazing person and always has a happy, positive and loving heart…..and I know she will totally appreciate this post!
What a smile…this is a picture of Lydia during our family vacation this summer! Lydia has a special "heart " for our animals! I am totally an animal lover and it will be interesting when John get's home from the hospital….in the house….we have 5 dogs and a precious house pig, "Daisy-Mae"
Lydia is always a help to me with the animals and always is so happy playing and keeping them entertained! Charlie is her favorite(far left)… Eddie( right) L OV E S tennis balls…and poor "jack" in the middle – is our "needy one"!
Now let's get to the card!!! A simple yet fun card layout that would produce a smile to anyones face! Again, there is nothing wrong in a great layout that can be used over and over and you will still get the same end result….a gift of art from YOUR heart!
The colors I used were Smokey Slate, Whisper White and Daffodil Delight! Clean, classic and fun! Using a classic backdrop like this is always a win=win for a card!
Adding just a little bling I used the Brights Candy Dots...for the elephants flower – these are simply the best and if you do not have them….click here and order all 4 color collections as YOU WILL USE THEM! love, LOVE them! I have YET to use them with the brads….just get the Candy Dots!

The Seaming Binding Ribbon in Daffodil Delight was the added touch that added depth and texture! This to me, is the easiest ribbon to work with….I wish Stampin' Up had it in every color…I would scoop them all up!
It would not be a post of mine without an envelope of fun for you! I made the envelope with the super new and fun and totally necessity of the Envelope Punch Board.…if you do not have it….STOP NOW and ask yourself why????? and then…..if not – click here and as Michael Jordan says…."Just do it"
The outside fun came from one of my favorites…..the Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper! They make me smile…..especially in daffodil delight! How about the fun on the front! Too many smiles for Lydia!
I hope that you have enjoyed this card and you join me in wishing Lydia a happy 22nd birthday! Our wish for you is for many more healthy and happy returns….you are a special person and I personally admire your dedication you have! So….sooo proud of you!
PRODUCT ALERT!!! Remember today is the magical day that you can order the Magnetic Platform!….now this is a big WOOT-WOOT as it has been on back order for a long time! I realize that is has been very frustrating to many of you but think of it this way….the reason was because it is so amazing!!!

What a true life saver this gem is! Your framelits stay in place…not more post it notes…no more wiggles in the paper – you will be amazed at what a time saver it is!
Thanks for popping in and until tomorrow!

Very special card. I enjoy making cards when I know who will get them. I only have a few in a stash, which I will add a little to when I use them. That to me is part of the fun. I got my new envelope punch board yesterday, and can’t wait to play with it. So happy your husband will be coming home soon. Happy Birthday Lydia. 🙂
Beautiful CAS card! I am loving my envelope punch too!
Love the card. I actually used this elephant to create cards that I sent to people who missed Sunday School last week. I will have to remember the candy dots. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Birthday Lydia
Super cute! What a wonderful share, too. You are good, you are really good.
I love this set and the colors are perfect. Welcome home to John, I’m sure he will be glad to be out of the hospital .
Such a darling card, Susan! Love your style!!
What a great card and a great story to go with! How perfect is that timing? I think the card is really fun but to have the necklace too is over the top. I love the colors and that cute little flower the elephant is holding. Just really cute! I use an elephant stamp with twine tied around it’s trunk saying something about maybe I should have tied the string around my finger to remind rather than the elephant but then they never forget totally! Or, something silly. Love seeing the photos of the furry kids! Maybe part of John’s therapy will be to put a tennis ball under his foot and slowly roll it and Eddie can run after it and bring it back for him to roll again! I bet you are going to have an interesting weekend!
Lydia looks like a beautiful young lady. I hope she has a wonderful birthday. I’m sure she’ll love the gift from your son. He sounds special too!
I also wanted to comment on your little three pen dots in various places on your cards of recent. I love that little touch. It adds just a little something to compliment the wording or stamp. I’ll have to give it a try on some of my cards.
See, I’m not the only person who loves your dots and dashes. Such a neat added touch. I just love this little elephant. Adorable. Love the flower out his trunk. You have such a lovely family (human and animal). Thanks for sharing!
