I am a “Happy Stamper” as I have shown you 2 very simple yet WOW cards (in my opinion) yesterday and today! I made this style of a card months ago with a “Thank You” sentiment!
Do you remember that I have shared with you…when you find a style and a layout that works for you…keep it fresh and handy for you to switch up the paper, the sentiment and BINGO-BANGO – you have a new card!
Why do we always want to reinvent the wheel…go with what feels good to you and you’ll be happy! I tried to find the original You Tube Video that I saw this on and I looked and looked with no luck!
Before we go any further….I need to say a BIG WOOT-WOOT to MaryAnn H. for winning the bundle of Thanksgiving Fun from my post on Saturday – click here to see it…..MaryAnn – I will pop in the mail to you today the 8 bags with the decorations for YOU! Thank YOU for popping onto my blog!!!!

Guess you’ll get stuck with my pictures and tips!!! Here you go…have fun with it and please share with me any cards you do making this! It is fun, easy, uses minimal products and can go with so many different themes!
- The base is Chocolate Chip an A-2 size but I scored it at the 5 ½” side and the Very Vanilla is 4” X 5 ¼”
- The Tangerine Tango Squares are a simple 2 ½” square…you can see – no wasting paper for me!!! I used a punch to take full advantage of saving scraps!
- The other squares are (4) of each pattern 1 1/4" in size and they are from the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper…(This card is sooooo easy – it scary!!!!)
- Your best friend will be the grid paper!I used to think that it was only for Demonstrators ….silly me!

- I think I have had the same pad of grid paper since I started SU….I have a piece of plexi-glass over top of it so it very rarely needs replaced and I will say I use it a ton from measuring and lining things up! Just line up the 2 squares and adhere them together!
- After I adhere them together I put this on top of the Silicone Craft Sheet. I thought that thiswas a gimmick but it is a LIFESAVER and I highly reccomend you have one….WHY? = easy….when you glue or use a hot glue gun…your work will peel right off – LOVE IT!!!
- Next – the little squares! I recommend that you use Tombo glue on it as it will allow you to “wiggle” them around before it “sets” up! TIP: to the very top square do not put adhesive on the outer area as once you bring that last square down, you will need to place the top on over it…(then put a little squeeze of glue)

- Sentiment time…If you do not have this stamp set, hit the Shop Now button and give yourself a gift as you need this stamp set! The sentiments are super and the fonts are “spot on”!!! It is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and the sentiment of “just because” is perfect!
- After I have stamped the sentiment, I then put Stampin Dimensionals around the focal part and then covered the “hole” on the Very Vanilla piece! A simple Neutral Candy Dot was the simple finishing touch to the card!
- Envelope time – you know…the envelope liner framelit did the trick…again!!! That’s it…now get your supplies out and make this card!!!
Now wasn't that fun and easy! I hope your head is spinning thinking of color combinations etc…to me – this is PERFECT just the way it is to send to family and friends letting them know that you are thinking of them "just because"!!!
I thank you for popping by today and please share my blog with your family and friends! It is my passion and goal to inspire you to create works of art from your heart! I am with you if you need help…please feel free to email me!
Tomorrow is "hump day" and it is a Christmas Card day…..you will smile!!!
Until tomorrow…..

Love this one..I cased the Thank you. 🙂
This card looks so impressive! I watched a video on this style not long ago (Catherine Pooler has one). I love how you are saving paper by punching the middles!
Thank you for sharing!
How big are the patterned paper squares? Did you use a punch to make them, or cut strips and then squares?
Love it twice as much! 🙂
Hi Bridget and thanks for the question as I forgot to put that in….I did go back and added it to the post! The squares are 1 1/4″ and I did use a punch (retired)boo! but you can easily cut a 1 1/4″ strip of paper and cut them!!! Thanks for the “head’s up” and I hope that you make it!!!
OMG! I am so excited that I won your blog…I am here at work and started to scream (you may think I won the lottery)!….thank you so much and I absolutely love your cards, ideas and blog, Susan! Have a great day…I know I already am!
I love all your work. I especially like the just because ones to give out randomly. I’ve cased a few of your cards.
Thank you so much.
I love this card and it has been on one of my To Do lists – as I have admired this before. At least I don’t remember making it. What can I say, my mom and all her sisters had Alzheimer’s…..Oh, and congrats to Mary Ann for winning the fun stuff. It is always fun to win something! Looking forward to the Christmas card tomorrow. I was wondering how this card today would look as a holiday card? May have to play around with this idea. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Chris! – This would make an adorable holiday card! I can see using the real red polka dots and some of the green DSP… I just think it is fun to mix it all up!!!! My brain is thinking!!!!!
Yes, definitely red polka dots. I have bunches of old scraps that might look fun with the red polka dots. I need to play some. Did you do anything fun for your anniversary?
