Well…I hope that I do not offend anyone by saying that I am not the biggest fan of snow! Sure it is BEAUTIFUL…and if it would stay the fresh and white wonderland that it is….I would ADORE it – but living on a farm with 5 dogs…3 horses…a miniture donkey,a precious pig…and a WONDERFUL husband that is coming back from a severe injury…it is hard for me to do the SNOW HAPPY DANCE!
On a positive note….I was able to be home from work by 2 today and even though I had today’s post planned….I thought – “Let’s Play” and do something different….so this is what you get!!!!
My oldest lives in Boston and I know how cold it is here in Maryland…my heart goes out to him being in Massachusetts – so his siblings will be jealous…but this post is for him…all complete with a Starbucks gift card to warm him up!
Let’s get to it and I have lots of pictures for you! The inspiration was from my dear Stampin’ Up! friend and demonstrator Patsy Waggoner….I was so happy to meet her in person at leadership in Houston and get a big Patsy hug… she is my BLOG GU-RU that has been my savior! WOWZER – what a wonderful person! I am blessed!
- The base is (2) pieces of Soft Sky at 4 ¼” X 5 ½”
- I ran one thru my main man, Mr. Big Shot , with a NEW AND FREE Embossing Folder that you can get during Sale-A-Bration….it is a HUGE WOOT-WOOT!!!!
- Now…take both pieces and using the Simply Scored – score along the 5 ½” side at ½”, 1”, 4 ½” and 5”
- Next, I took a framelit from the Festive Flurries Framelits (it is carried over) LOVE it – thought it would be a perfect effect for our snowy day!

- Fold the scored lines (accordion style) and I highly suggest using the bone folder…why???? It makes a BIG difference with 3-D projects….crisp and clean is the name of the game!
- I was using the Best of Snow Stamp Set and at 1st I was going to do the snowman but I changed my mind to even keep it simpler! I adore this set….and have made many WOWZER projects with it – remember, it is a limited stamp set so please do not wait to order it!

- I cut a Very Vanilla piece at 3 ¼” X 3” to be the “centered stage” of the card! I stamped some snowflakes from the Festive Flurries Stamp Set in Soft Sky around the edges ( I know it’s hard to see) but it really is cute!
- The focal “Let it Snow” is in Island Indigo and remember – keep your ink pads will “inked” to get the crisp image you are looking for!
- I placed that on a very vanilla snowflake that I popped out and popped them with Stampin’ Dimensionals!!!! Love those Stampin’ Vitamins!
- Place Sticky Strip along the edges as shown…this is a must as you really want a strong hold and it makes it sooooo easy! After I placed one side….I flattened the card to adhere the 2nd side! SOOOOO easy!
- I thought it needed a bit of interest….so I cut a ¼” strip of Island Indigo to dress up the sides and then stitched and dotted to add depth!
- Let’s flip it around…..I took a piece of scraps to make a quick pocket and tuck in a note and a gift card for Will to enjoy!
- The envelope was lined in the Soho Subway DSP…works perfectly with today’s project!
Well….what do you think!?!? I thought that it was super cute and I thank Patsy for her inspiration….( she really IS THE BEST) – Click here to see her video on this technique!
My wonderful upline, Mary Fish introduced me to Patsy I feel like we are like “Peanut Butter and Jelly” – I feel so fortunate to be able to meet so many incredible Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that continue to inspire me!

I just came up from doing a final check of the horses (10:30 p.m.) and I feel bad that I was whining at the beginning of my post! As I bundled up….and went to see the horses – all of the dogs came with me….tumbling and having fun playing in the snow…I had to smile…as it is times like this that are priceless!!!
All is great…all are warm and all of the dogs are pooped from playing outside!!! If you live in a snowy area….be safe – I hope that you enjoyed this post! I think it is super cute and I know Will will appreciate it and enjoy the gift card!
To me…the super great thing about this card is….it lays flat and when you take it out of the envelope….it POPS right into it's 3-D shape….FUN!!!!
Have a GREAT day, please feel free to leave me a comment and tomorrow is another PPA challenge – I have a great card for you!!!!
Be safe – and until tomorrow!

Adorable card. I love how it folds down for mailing. Thanks so much for sharing and for the tutorial. Awesome!
This card is sooooo cute. I need to remember it for all occasions. Thank you for such a creative idea.
I can always count on you for something clever.
It is cold in IL. too. Doesn’t matter if it 15 or 2 when the wind is blowing it is toooooo cold for man or beast. Perfect for card making. Valentine cards for the Veterans!!!!
Snow fun! I still need to make a couple of snow themed cards. I think I just might have to copy this! I love it! The envelope liner looks so good with this too. Love the faux stitched ribbon! I am getting a bit tired of the snow and all this high wind and wind chill factor lately. But, pretty soon I will be griping about being too hot! Henry loves eating the snow. Keep your fingers crossed or whatever it takes to get my baby well. We are still awaiting test results.
