This is the week for LOVE….or should I say….a week of inspiration for Valentine’s Cards!
It seems like we go from one holiday to the next and even though we are only in the 1st week of January…February 14th will be here before you know it!
How about this for a super clean and simple card! I am going to have a Valentine’s Card making class this month so you get to see the fun cards that we will be making!
Are you all loving the new catalog? It is great and I hope that you keep looking through it as there is so much to take in…I love to see the front section where Stampin’ Up! has inspired us with many great ideas! I use these Ideas a lot…why not? They are “keepers”!!!!
I had a “fun and play” time yesterday with my dear friend Jeanie and she came to my house to “play” and as we were stamping and creating….she would say…”Hey – where did this come from?” and when I would say it’s in the new catalog….she would say “No way…I’ve looked through that catalog a 100 times…..”
Today’s card is from the new catalog and the note cards are from the special Valentines collection – I am not one that usually likes “pre-printed” cards…but this is the 2nd time I have used this on posts and I think it is super cute!
Let’s get to it……
- The note card is called Sweet Saying Cards and you get 12 pre-printed cards with envelopes that coordinate! I love the fact that you get 4 of each color of envelopes…real read, pool party and crisp cantaloupe all for just $5.95!
- Using a scrap piece of Real Red…I rubbed the embossing buddy over it and then stamped the “you + me” stamp from the Hip Noted Stamp Set with Versa Marker and sprinkled white embossing powder over it…and fired up the heal tool for the magic to happen!!! (I just LOVE heat embossing…so fun!!!)
- I then punched out the stamped image with the heart punch along with 2 more real red ones and then using the fun print in the Fresh Prints Paper Stack…I punched 2 of them (and still have plenty to make a liner for my envelope later) and one in pool party!
- I used the mono liquid glue for the hearts…why??? I like this adhesive when you want to “wiggle them” into a certain place…so easy and it is SUPER strong!
- The focal stamped heart – I added some stampin’ vitamins…aka Stampin’ Dimensionals to lift it up and to let the “simple WOW” happen!
- That’s about it…a couple of “Susan dots” here and there and the use the Envelope Liner Framelit with the rest of the piece of DSP and YOU’RE DONE!
Let's talk about these paper stacks! I am thrilled that Stampin’ Up! has them and I truly hope they continue to have them available! I love them for several reasons…
- With a sheet you can line 2 envelopes!
- For this card…I was able to line the envelope and cut the hearts out (actually I can cut 6 hearts and line one envelope….great for classes)
- If you really want something quick and fast…you can use one of these sheets to use on the front of a regular A-2 card!
- This pack is so affordable and the size is great to pop in your bag. Many times…I precut…pre-punch things and then at lunch at work I put cards together!
- You get 48 sheets for just $6.95
Thanks for all of the comments on yesterday’s post…it is soooo fun to read them and see what products you are inspired by etc…remember – leave me a comment and you might win my “Pot of Gold” that I am giving to one lucky winner….
$20.00 worth of any Stampin’ Up! Products = 14 handmade cards from me =

Thanks for the tips about the paper stacks, Susan. Some of the card kits can be wonderful.
Enjoy your time in Houston. What a thrill for you. You deserve it.
You inspire me!!!! I have been up all night playing with valentine cards. 🙂 I was so hoping for another snow day today so I could play. At this rate my christmas decor will be up til next year. LOL
Jeanie, my decorations are still up too! Who has time to put them away when there are cute cards to CASE!!! Great job Susan, as always!!!!!
Love the design on the new pre-printed card! You are so clever! Wonderful job, Susan!
Very nice card Susan. I’m happy to be thinking ahead to Valentine’s as I was really rushing in the end with Christmas.
🙂
Love the card set and the paper stack. Agree, I hope they keep these little stacks around so convenient and LOVE the color choices. Beautiful and simple card.
Susan, I enjoy your blog very much. You do inspire me with your lovely, but simple to re-create cards and tips to make it even easier. However, the one thing I most enjoy is the “feel” of your blog. Your kindness and gentle spirit comes through in each post and it just starts each day in a happy, upbeat way. Thank you for sharing more than just your talents. I hope you have a terrific time at Leadership! Wishing you JOY in 2014!
Thsnks for the valentine ideas!

I wasn’t a big fan of this set until I saw your blog
Susan, You are amazing. I love your card. It is so adorable. I am really loving all of your tips and fun simple cards. You really inspire me every day. I am going to have to put these all on my wish list. This catalog is really loaded with great products. Great tips…this is my fave new dsp…tfs!
Susan, an amazing, cute card. I have not tried the pre-printed cards; guess I need to step outside the box too. The paper stacks are a great addition to the SU catalog – now it is quick and easy to line a envelope. I love your great tips and simple, clean cards. Have fun in Houston; I have two friends that will also be attending.
That DSP makes my eyes go dinky!! It is a fun paper for Valentine’s day cards!!
I agree, I love the paper stacks too! Have fun at leadership!
What’s not to love – really great card. Thanks for sharing & inspiring us to use the Paper stacks and the “sweet saying cards”. I too was not a fan of using premade cards, but with busy schedules, it helps motivate me to make a card. That way I don’t have to wonder what card stock, etc. to find, coordinate & use.
Your blog makes ME HAPPY.
Have a great time in Houston-anxious to read your blog after you are home sharing all your happiness.
What’s not to love-great card. Thanks for convincing me that the “Sweet Saying Cards” and “Paper Stacks” are a great deal. I was never a fan of premade cards, but with busy schedules, it sure saves a lot of time looking for the right card stock, etc. I know I will be more apt to put a card together when I already have part of the card in front of me. Great save.
Have fun in Houston. Will look forward to your blog detailing all the excitement in Houston & friends getting together.
Love your blog “YOU MAKE ME HAPPY” just reading it every day. So enthusiastic about life, family, cards, etc.
Safe travels.
Karen, you hit the nail on the head. Susan is always so upbeat and fun to be around. She has the biggest heart and I feel so fortunate to know her! Isn’t technology great that we all can enjoy a bit of Susan each day through her blog. She is awesome!
Very sweet card. Looks like I might even be able to ‘CASE’ this card. The color combo is really fun too! Thanks for sharing!
Too cute!!!
Love what you did with that set and the note cards. TFS
The Valentine Card is AWESOME!!! I have the cards and the idea is a keeper! Hope I get the Gold this month. What a great offer! Thanks!
