Woot-woot…I love my little Red Wagon! When I see this is brings back great memories of pulling my kids in a wagon when they were little…I sure miss those days!
It's Thursday and that means there is a challenge….how about pulling out these 3 colors and playing along! If you need help – no worries – I will gladly help you upload your masterpiece!!! Please go to the Pals Paper Art Website and see the endless ideas and then if you need help loading….please email me!
Before I get to the scoop of today’s post…I wanted to answer a question that I get asked a lot! The question is…
Why do you share so much on your blog postings
(like the measurements, tips and tricks etc….)
Well…the answer is super simple…
Why not?
I love what I do and why wouldn’t I want to share what I have learned!
The truth of the matter is…we all have to start somewhere and I must admit – I am not the quickest learner and even though I am passionate about stampin’ – I realize that many people who pop on my blog are beginners!
We all have started as a beginner in many things we set out to do. I want to share with YOU as much as I can so YOU can see that YOU can do it! I find that many of us second guess ourselves and the more we do that….the more we lose self confidence.
I am passionate about Stampin' Up! and I want YOU to feel the positiveness that I feel!
Even though it is very hard for me to answer each of your comments, please know that I deeply appreciate them. I am an email away so please feel free to reach out to me!
Ok. – sorry for the rambling, I just want you to know why I do what I do!
Let’s go….this is a “Susan” card and using the water-coloring technique always makes me smile! This is something that the more you do it…the better your results are…and again, don’t be hard on yourself…whatever you do is from YOU!!!
- I wanted to switch it up a bit and used the Naturals White Paper and cut it to a notecard size – 3 ½” X 5”…I love the natural look of the paper and there are little subtle flakes/fibers thru it that make it look super with the Water Color Paper!
- The “little red wagon” is from the For the Birds Stamp Set and it is perfect for water coloring…using the black staz on ink I “masked” the sentiment, as I wanted to use the sentiment from another stamp!
TIP ALERT: Again, I know that this is basic but I also know that many of you are beginners…when you do this…simply take a post it note over top of the area you want to cover…ink it up….peel it off – PRESTO!!!
- The Big Shot and the Deco Labels Framelits are the “wonder tools” for today’s card…I know that the below pictures are super basic but again, I am trying to teach you some easy techniques that are useful for many cards!
- I used the So Saffron Frame and attached them together with sticky strip…perfect hold!
- Cut out another Wild Wasabi Frame and cut it in half – you can see how I just “peeked” it out on the sides and then took scissors to clean up the other “left overs” – I just wanted the sides to peek!
- Let’s get coloring! Using the Aqua Painters…become your own Picasso…remember to have a paper towel handy to blot off excess water and also to clean the brush to pick up a new color! Have fun…just do it and have fun!!!
- Using the Mono Glue to adhere this whole piece to a mat cut at 3 ¼” X 4 ¾” ….and I used the envelope punch board to corner round the edges….POP up with dimensionals – DONE!
- Making the envelope was easy – following the guide, I needed a 7 ¼ “ square and then punched and scored it at 3 1/8” and kept turning…punching…scoring! Done – it is so fun and easy to make your own envelopes! I lined the outer flap of the card with the Designer Series Paper from the Subtles Collection!!!
Thank you for popping on today! I hope that you like my little red wagon….and I hope that you have memories of a wagon! My peeps are all grown but I love to remember the past! Have a fabulous Thursday and please subscribe to my blog (under the occasions catalog) if you would like a daily dose of inspiration from me!
Remember, when you place an order with me that qualifies for a FREEBIE – will also receive from me…a swatch book of the Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-bration!!!!
Speaking of swatch books…I am going to be doing an offering for you to purchase these handy-dandy gems ( in all of the collections!!!!) to help you with your projects!
I have had a busy week at my "other job" so hopefully I will get my ducks in a row for the scoop for you…I find them to be soooooo handy!
3 lucky people won them from me and I do appreciate when you leave me comments – you never know when I will throw in a fun give-away!
Have a great day and until tomorrow!
I love it! Cheerful and uncomplicated! The framing just makes the beautiful water coloring stand out!
I hope you have a great end to your busy week!
Cyberhugs!
Susan, this was another great blog! I personally love all the info. Today I learned about using sticky strip on the back of the two die cut outs to adhere them together and on the card. This was super. Also, using the post-it note to mask the part you don’t want to stamp. I usually use scotch tape and it gets quite messy peeling off the “inked up” scotch tape from the stamp and sticking it someplace, not to mess up your working area. Thanks a bunch!! I didn’t get to use my Aqua Painters yet. 🙂
Great card Susan. This set has been on my need to get list. I really like how you changed the sentiment. Thanks for sharing!
Gorgeous!
Adorable! I had a little red wagon and I dearly loved it ! I think I need to get this stamp set . I received a card the other day with the little bird on the mailbox (cute cute)….and Susan, I have you on my favorites list because you DO give specifics and details .
I don`t know everything (yet) about stamping and I love your blog !
I am not a beginner but I have learned a few things from you! I LOVE THAT YOU SUPPLY DIRECTIONS! 🙂 I also love today’s card! It’s so cute!! 🙂
Such a sweet card. And I so enjoy all of your instructions. I always learn something new and I have been stamping for 12 years. Thanks for all you do each day.
Another cute, fun card, Susan. I am not a beginner either, but I read several blogs daily and always learn something from others. I really like it when the measurements are included because it saves someone else “figuring” time, which is a huge time-saver for those who are busy with little ones at home, a job, illness, etc. Thank you for making this hobby “do-able” for others.
Susan, I have really appreciated your supply of information! The photos make everything look so much bigger than they really are, and having the dimensions help SO much. Your tips and tricks are great. Thank you for teaching us!
Susan, You must have been watching me last week
When I was trying to figure out what to do with
This set. It is very cute, but I was stumped on how
To use. This is a perfect card, love it!!!! I agree
Watercoloring is fun, but tricky and takes time.
I too remember having my boys in the wagon pulling
It all over our neighborhood. I think the old thing is
Still in my shed, because I couldn’t bear to get rid of it!
Susan, your card is FABULOUS. So much lovely effort goes into every one of your cards. I hope you know how much we appreciate you in the virtual world and how much we have learned from you and grown. This is one of my most FAVE stamp sets. And, yes, it is so great for coloring. I did just order the Naturals paper and I am going to give it a go. I can’t wait to see the texture of it and try to water color with it. I hope I can do it justice. Thank you so much for all you do and sharing with us!
P.S. I am still laughing at your pic of the fur friends helping each other out. So thanks for the laughs and smiles too!
Love your blog, Susan, and love that you take the time to explain everything in detail. I’m not a beginner, but it sure saves time when you give us so much help. Please don’t stop!
Also, thanks for sharing your life with us – I feel like we are friends!
Sending lots of virtual hugs, Carole
Such a cheerful card! I AM a beginner and I always pick up tips ~ thanks do much! I am also just starting to blog and altho I have been writing for years I was never a technical writer so it helps me learn how to write ‘directions.’
I love all your tips and find them so helpful. Your stories brighten my day and some bring back many memories from my own childhood. Keep inspiring us with all you do and say! Thanks, Susan!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for giving all the details and hints and measurements you do for each card on your blog!!! It is soooooo helpful for those of us who are still in the learning curve (do you ever get out of it?) or if we are in a hurry and need a nice card. I look forward to seeing your blog and card every morning. There are so many times I have wanted to e-mail you, but when I click on the “e-mail me” words on your blog, my computer says it’s not set up for that (I’m not totally computer savy). So I’ll just have to leave you messages here. Again, thank you for your blog!!
Your card is awesome. I have been stamping for years, I still enjoy reading your tips and often learn a new way to do something. I have this wonderful set and need to pull it out and use more. Like Nancy said your tip about the sticky strip holding the parts together is a keeper for sure.
Thank you so much for the furry friend giggle! I too remember my son and daughter with the little red wagon, thanks for that giggle too! Your card is just priceless! Do you take VISA! hee! hee!
Vary vary pretty Sysan ! Love it
Great coloring ,

Love this stamp set and have used it many times, including making several sets of cards with them for friends.
Just too cute! Just a fun springy cheerful card! Love the tips and hints – I gotta get me that magnetic platform.
I still have the little red wagon I pulled my kids around in. Love the card and wondering why I don’t own that stamp set. LOL
I love your little “Susan Dots”! It’s always like a Where’s Waldo puzzle – where will Susan put those little dots? LOL! Thanks for playing with DT2 this week 🙂
Susan, this is so adorable and fun!
An adorable card, Susan! I love the layers!
