Today’s card is my hopes in chasing away the snow that we are expected to get tomorrow! Remember I shared with you before that my Mom said…March can fool you…and think her wisdom will hold true tomorrow!
Yesterday I gave Stanley a bath and let him enjoy grass and tomorrow we are to have snow…CRAZY! I sure hope that this is a mix up!
The elements of this card are so basic but doesn’t it give you a “big WOW”… it goes back to my statement of…less is best! Just look at how a single sentiment and some punched out flowers can create an impact!
Let’s go and I hope that you case away on this simple gem!
- The card is an A-2 Whisper White and then my “go to” mat a ¼” smaller = 4” X 5 ¼”
TIP ALERT: Take a ruler and draw a line in the middle….2” so you can get your sentiment smack dab in the center!
- Using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set I simply stamped the sentiment in Black Staz On…

Give me your thoughts???: – Do you like the black ink or do you think I should have stamped it in Rich Razzleberry? I wanted the sentiment to have a “statement:” and that is why I chose the black – what would you have done?
- Remember from yesterday’s Hybrid Card Post…I cut the center of the garden green paper with the Little Leaves sizzlet…well here they are today! I just “pruned” the leave I wanted and used the Mono Glue to adhere them and then worked on the flowers!
- These flowers are so simple but just think if all of the ideas you could do with them! The Blossom Party Die is a die that I enjoy using this to get a fun flair and also a great way to use up scraps!

- The others flowers came from the Boho Blossoms and Itty Bitty Shapes Pack Punches…you know I use these a bunch!

TIP ALERT #2 – Do you know that you can “sharpen” your punches…easy – pull out a piece of tin foil and punch them several times…it really works !!!
- Look at the below pictures…you can see my tip on making the flowers have a bit of dimension…Simply take the stylus and gently push it in to the paper piercing mat and presto – your flower has instant dimension! But look…the yellow flower has that hole…no worries – take a piece of scraps and place it over top the hope….press – presto!
- I did use the "green glue" for all of the flowers and then POPPED the whole Mat piece up with a bunch of demensionals….always makes a card look great!
- Did you notice in the center of each flower I added a tiny pearl….such a cute and feminine touch!
- Can't be finished without the liner! It came from the Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Collection…doesn't it just make this card!
This was a super fun card to make…and talk about quick! Just think of how you could "mass produce" this gem! It also would be a super sweet card with different sentiments! Give it a try…..
The thing I love is the was the flower pop up….when you mount a flower down and then layer another on top…the effect really is classic!
Well…that's it! I do hope that you CASE this one…and if you do….please share it with me! I love to see your creations!
If you do not have these punches/die…no worries – play around with what you have…it is a great layout for many shapes!!!
Thanks for popping in and let's all thing sunhine…and say NO TO SNOW!
Until tomorrow!

I like what you did with the flowers Susan, but I think Stampin’ Up needs to design some very basic leaf stamps for our cards. The razzleberry flower has a leaf that is not quite coming off the flower in the right way. I know “picky me,” but you always appreciate our input. I think I would have stamped the sentiment in razzleberry since there is nothing else on the card that is black.
I love this card just like it is. I am going to try to case it today. I always look for your special Susan dots. Thanks for the great inspiration.
Great tip on “instant dimension!” I vote for black ink. Love the impact!
Just yesterday I was looking for a color to go with rich razzleberry to case your vellum flower card from a few posts back. I chose yellow but never thought of orange also. I’m going to try adding some orange. I would have used rich razzleberry for the sentiment.
I like that you matted the white on white card base ! That adds weight and “class” to your card . That sentiment is so darn cute with it`s twirly little ends that black or RR would look good .
I love love your tips ! Precious card !! I think a few of these stashed back would be a great idea !
The card needed the black stamped sentiment! Personal opinion if the razzleberry had been used on the sentiment it wouldn’t have had the “pop” effect it does have with the black…like I said ‘PO’ personal opinion. Love your style of cards and especially the way you explain in detail how you made them so we can achieve the same! Please don’t ever change that! Thanks for all!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
I like the black ink. Love the flowers. Love the simplicity of the card. Hope to CASE it real soon. Thanks a bunch! 🙂
When in doubt, go with black!
Less is more. Love CAS and I like the black. Thanks for sharing and the tips.
The simplicity in your cards is always a hit with me. The black message is key to making this card so sharp. During my years working in a stationery store printing invitations and announcements, black text was the choice of most of our clients as it is easier to read and as in your card very classy. Thanks for your wonderful ideas.
Such a perfect card Susan! I love the simplicity and the sentiment is my all time favorite. I vote for the black ink. Makes the sentiment pop.
This is just simply took dang cute! I love it! I would stick with the Black ink! 🙂
I love this card! Simple and sweet. I like the black sentiment best. I think it packs punch. Razzleberry wouldn’t have the same look.
WOW! So very pretty and clean! Looks simple but may not be – I will have to try it. Thanks, Susan, for all of the tips and wonderful cards.
