I shared with you this morning that I was going to do another post today…I am sure by now if you follow other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Blogs, than you have probably heard the exciting news of Project Life by Stampin’ Up!
I did not want to blog about it right away as I was so excited but I also knew that I wanted it to “sink in” as I wanted to share a story with you that is from my heart!
I have shared through my blogging that I was with a direct selling company for many, many years and developed a very strong and fun team and had wonderful customers!
What I did was scrapbooking…
I made the very hard decision to leave direct sales at that time as we were buying our farm and also I could see the direction that the company was going towards was not my style. I was very clean and simple back then…and still hold true to keeping it duplicatable for others to experience the fun!
It was a hard decision but I looked at it as a “life decision” at that time…my team members were very surprised that I made this decision as I had built up over many years a great business. My heart was telling me it was time to make “the break” but I knew deep down – I would be back to direct sales one day as I adore the relationships you build and the lives that you touch!
Over this past weekend being in Arizona…I did not know anything about Project Life (Stampin’ Up! is great about keeping things hush-hush) but as I flew home I was thinking of the fun and memories I had in my “prior direct sales life” and how happy and blessed I am to have made the decision to be a part of Stampin’ Up!
The weekend spent with such a great group of people "filled my tank" and I realized how important the friends you meet…the lives you touch…and looking ahead for the future…to me, being in direct sales is the best as you can make it what YOU want it to be…and I knew I had a void in my life that needed fulfilled!
I am coming up on my 2nd Anniversary with Stampin' Up! and I can honestly say that the day I decided to become a demonstrator, I did not tell anyone…not even John – I had reflected on it for months and then ultimately…I did it for me! I knew I found the right company and I knew I found the right team!
I am super excited for what is ahead…I am eager to learn…to embrace the concept and to once again, help people realize the importance of leaving a legacy behind.
Life is complicated enough…so to me this new venture is giving "us" – (you and me) the permission to leave memories alive…to document the milestones and to leave a legacy for generations to come!
I have not been able to "dive into" it yet but believe me, I will research this concept before it becomes available! As a SUD, I will be able to order on Monday the 21st – woot-woot!
This is called "Project Life"…but to me it is "Project YES"
I have fallen WAY behind in my pictures and I adore taking pictures and I know my children love seeing them! This program will allow me to pick up where I left off…and that is so exciting to me!

Good Morning Susan ~ An early Happy Anniversary to you! I am delighted that I found you online and spend part of my morning with you each day. A scrapbooking friend introduced me to Project Life a couple of years ago and I love it – I just don’t spend enough time on it. It does require a bit of planning – planning to get your pictures printed! And because I am a paper person, I always want to include some cards or paper in the pages and a little extra button, pop up, flower, something. All this to say that I think your PL layouts will be ‘so Susan’ and will be spectacular! I hope you will show some of your pages along the way. I am still working on 2013 as well as gathering the pieces for 2014, which not be weekly this year. But that’s the beauty! Good luck!
Susan,
I think you will be excellent at PL! It can be as simple as you want or dressed up with keepsakes, buttons, die cuts and yes, even stamped images! I agree with Margaret in that it does take some advance planning. For instance, if a page of pockets is all landscape and you have a couple portrait-oriented photos, you have to improvise. Unlike digital pocket pages, with the physical product, what you have on one side is what you have on the flip side. Sometimes that is very frustrating, particularly to the chronological scrapper (me!).
Getting pages finished in short order is an awesome feeling though and is probably the strength of PL. Just keep in mind it is an open canvas not just for the 365 or 52 scrapper. So many people get it in their heads that it is only for scrapping weekly layouts and don’t try it for that reason. Just like any scrapping project–it’s what the creating scrapper/artist wants it to be.
Can’t wait to see your posts with PL–so excited SU has created this partnership with Beck Higgins. Oh, be sure to check out her blog. She is such an amazing woman–love her!
Thanks for sharing your story. I am looking forward to learning more about PL. I really want to get some of my story “told” but with 45 years worth of pictures (married/children/grandchildren)I really should get a move on!
Dear Susan, Thank you for sharing your wonderful story. I can no believe you have been doing Stamping only 2 years. Happy anniversary early. You are amazing. Your customer service is so great. You make us all feel like we are and we are your best friend. My husband laughs at me. I feel like I know you just by reading your great blog and your beautiful site every day. You make my day so special just by being YOU. I think you will do a wonderful job with your PL you have to share with all of us your layouts. and your pages. You will leave such a great Legacy to your family. Have a great day. Happy stamping.

Well said Susan! I so look forward to scrapbooking with you again!!! Project Life seems like it will fit into the busy persons life. I have been searching and reading all I can as I had never heard of it. It sounds simplified which sounds great to me! 🙂 Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Susan, it is so refreshing to read your story! I know that whatever you do, you are successful…you can just tell. I’ve been a SUD for about 4 years and I love it! I live in Gilbert, AZ and follow you and a lot of the “Pals” and every day I am inspired. Congratulations on your past and future achievements….Can’t wait to see more!
Susan… I love your blog, your cards, your instructions. I too started out as a scrapbooker and migrated to Stampin’Up but only a few months ago as a demonstrator with the Pals. I’ve looked at PL several times in stores wondering if I could make it work for me, now I have the opportunity to try it out. Wanted you to know you are my inspiration!
