Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least! I know that it is not like me to show you a stamp that is no longer in the Stampin' Up! catalog but I will say that I am like most of you…I do have favorites and this one I just can't seem to part with! The pig stamp is special to me!
A fun fact about me is that I have a pet house pig named Daisy Mae! She is 2 1/2 years old and she think that she is one of the dogs! I have always wanted a pet pig and I told my family when I turned 50 all I want is a pig…well I have one and I adore her!
We do not have any Vets that will work on pigs and I take her to a Vet in Virginia about an hour + from my home! Daisy doesn't leave our house much…(actually this is the 3rd time) and she usually sits in the passenger seat of my Jetta. Well…yesterday I took a co-worker along as she wanted to see the whole ordeal! Daisy just sat in the back seat and would look out the window (it's funny to see people when they realize it's a pig)
Pigs do not like to be picked up…they truly make a horrific noice…Daisy does not walk on a leash so I needed to pick her up (we turned heads at the Vets) Pigs have a mind of their own and even though they are super smart, they have their own opinions! I put this red leash that the vet had over her in the room just in case she bolted out the door….she didn't – she was great!
The Vet was held up with an emergency and we sat in the room for quite a long time. When he came in he was so happy to see how well she looked and was amazed at her weight and coat! I simply cannot tell you how many family and friends make fun of her – they call her "Bacon"…"Pigglet"…and make fun of her that she has put some pounds on since her last check up!
I truly wish I had a video camera as he was complimenting her up and down and I was such a proud Mom! She even let him trim her hoofs while she sat in the special chair they have in the rooms for the animals (isn't that great that they do not have to get on a metal table…she would have been petrified!!!)
Ok….enough – we have a super fun card to get to…..I was so happy with the end result and I am giving it to my co-worker today as a "thanks" for having a fun "girls" afternoon adventure! I aplogise for going on and on but this is what I love about blogging…I want you to get to know me as I love getting to know you in helping you achieve your goals!
The fun of this card is the NEW product that Stampin' Up! just came out with and I LOVE IT and WOWZERS – it is so darn afforable! It is called the Dots and Stripes Decorative Masks and you get both for just $2.95! Woot-Woot…
So simple to use…I simply placed the mask over top of my paper (I did use masking tape to make sure it would not wiggle) and then Sponge Daubers to color in the holes. I used Strawberry Slush, Blushing Bride and Pistachio Pudding – isn't this super fun!
While I had the everything out – I thought that I would make my own liner and simply took a piece of white paper and did the same and then adhered it to the envelope back and trimmed off the excess ( you could simple place the mask right on the envelope but since I have not done this much – I did not want to try it!)
Did you notice the details on the pig? I did "fussy cut" her out (it was super easy) I had an extra piece of the pink pirouette embossed with the Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder from a post last week but I cut it out with a circle framelit and then using the next larger size…did the same with the Strawberry Slush!
I just could not resist adding a button to the pigs nose and I the little piece of bakers twine made it fun! Also, did you notice that I used the white gel pen to add some depth and fun!
When you think about this card…it uses different tools that we have to make our creating making easier! To me, it is super important to purchase the basics….(big shot, choose a couple of framelits, some punches, several stamp sets and basic paper) You can start with this and then build your inventory!
Thanks for popping in today and thank you for allowing me to share my fun with Daisy! Below is a picture of her with one of the dogs …she really is sweet and she does think she is one of them! There is never a dull moment around my house but one things for sure – I do love animals!
Enjoy the day, please remember that you can click the shop now button or also click on the below pictures! Until tomorrow!

Very cute! The pig in that stamp set was the reason I wanted the set to begin with! Thanks for the example using the dots mask. I’ve seen the stripes used on projects, but yours is the first I’ve seen with the dots. It is great with the big dots embossing folder!
Have a nice day!
Cyberhugs!
Daisy is adorable! Thanks for the fun story and I’m glad she did so well at the vets!
Just love your stories! And it is so great that you would bring in the “Not so Norm” pet into your heart. She is adorable! Oh, and LOVE your card!
The card is so cute. I love all the dots and circles. You friend will surely love it. Daisy Mae is just as cute. God knows we love our animals, oh excuse me, our furry children! Have a great day. 🙂
Love this story and the card of course LOL. I too always wanted a pig. I still haven’t got one…….but I still love the idea LOL. Of course now I “need” more items from SU since I saw the stencil you used. LOL

Super cute story! I love your pig, she is adorable!
I love the story! And the card. Very cute, but most of all, I loved the pic of your two little ones by the fire.
I love reading your stories! I had a dog named Daisy Mae. She was a black and white cocker spaniel! So sweet!
Super-cute, Susan! I do hope Daisy Mae is back to normal soon. Love the card and love the callback to Button Buddies! In that last picture – the wooden pig seems to be angry at Daisy Mae. You might want to get her checked out too. 🙂
I love your stories and photos, Susan! And this card is adorable. I’m glad to see how those masks are used as I wasn’t quite sure. Very cute!
Your card and Daisy Mae are both simply adorable! Love the story! Daisy Mae, you rock!

OMGoodness…what an adorable pig. How sweet your story of going to the vet. Very interesting and glad she didn’t have to get on the metal table too!
Love your card. Just adorable too!
Thanks for sharing with us!
What a great blog today! You made me smile.
The card is awesome as is Daisy Mae! Thank you for going on about her and your adventure. That is what make blogging the best. I always get a kick out of seeing a pig out somewhere just walking down the street. So fun!
I love the story of Daisy May, she’s adorable. The card is cute too, I like that stamp.
I love your card – so cute. Thanks for sharing your pig story. I always enjoy hearing about someone else’s pets and yours is definitely unique and delightful. Daisy looks so small and so cute. Do pigs give kisses?
Lol…Love it 🙂
I am squealing with delight to see Miss Daisy again! Loved the story as much as the card and that is a lot! I do hope Daisy was just at a wellness check and not really sick! That chair looks comfy! Love the little flower button for the nose! This is still one of my favorite sets too. I really like how the mask turned out such fun polka dots. Totally loved the colors you used.
Daisy Mae is adorable, and your card is perfect for the occasion! I had passed over those decorative masks because I just couldn’t see how I could use them–guess I will add them to my ever growing wish list!
Your card is almost as cute as Daisy Mae! I’ve always wanted a pet pig. Maybe some day. tfs

Glad Daisy Mae checked out okay. She’s quite a girl! : )
Wow, loved your story about Daisy Mae and what a cute girl she is. It is so great she gets along with your dogs. Your story made me smile all day. Thanks so much for sharing and of course your wonderful card.
I love that you have a pet pig! How fun. Daisy Mae really needs a jeweled collar for her outings! I’m just saying! A girl needs fashion accessories. LOVE the card.
Love it! My kiddo just adores pigs so I shared this on her FB page. I will likely have to make a card like it for her. lol
It is wonderful to see how much you love Daisy! She is so BEAUTIFU. What a fun day! You have a very special friend that wants to enjoy what is truly so special to you. Bless you and your beautiful animals, the world always needs people who appreciate them. Thanks for sharing.
