It's Thursday – and that's another opportunity for you to have fun with color! This week is a color challenge and it is a fun and festive one! If you do not have these specific colors…no worries – the Pals Team just want you to play along!
I will be more than happy to help you upload your take on the challenge, you do not need to have a blog, you do not need to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator…email me, and I will be happy to help you!
Before we get to today's card…let's chat about the blog hop yesterday!!! Wasn't it fantastic! I am always so amazed with all of the talent, fresh ideas, unique ideas…there were 27 of us hopping away….this was my take on my favorites – click here!
This card is so easy to make and I have made it before using fall colors. You know how I feel about great layouts…if they work and you like them…do them over and over again! (Think about the favorite pair of shoes we all seem to have – you do not think twice on that - do you!?!?)
You can see that this card does not even have a sentiment and that is just fine…it has it's own statement on it's own…It is a 4 X 4 card and I made the envelope with the Envelope Punch Board…
I have lots of pictures for you but here is the BEST tip I can give to you…do not mount down the top square until the very end as you can see that it is "tucked under" the blue one….(look at the tip I gave you on the picture)
To see the other cards that I made with this layout click here and here. The key points to this card are really simple and this uses a minimal amount of product!
Talk about easy!
- (2) squares – at 2 1/2"
- Using the grids on my Stampin Up Grid Paper to keep them straight – I adhered them together and then PRESTO – put each of the 1 1/4" squares all the way around!
The Designer Series Paper came from the new Maritime Collection. The patterns and colors are so bold and sharp!
To the center I used a white button from the neutrals collection but the best is the ribbon….this is the NEW 1/4 cotton ribbon and hands down – this was the most popular ribbon that I offered in my ribbon share! (I am going to offer another round of ribbon shares next week as I keep getting emails!!!)
This ribbon is just beautiful – an answer to my bow challenged hands – the colors is comes in are AMAZING and the ease of it is wonderful!
Here is a great tip for you…we all know how small the holes are on the buttons…use the BEST RIBBON CUTTING SCISSORS IN THE WORLD, the and cut the ribbon on a sharp angle…try to get the tip in and then jam the piercing tool in until you can grab a piece of it to pull through!
This makes a great knot and look how super clean these scissors make the edges! I admit that I thought that these scissors were soooo darn expensive – true they are but they are worth every penny…every time I use them I say to myself – I love them!
Last thing to do is the envelope! That is easy with the envelope punch board…simply look at the chart and read the size of card that you have – pull out paper and cut it to the size it tells you….press/score – woot-woot! The liner is that extra touch that I always love!
Do you remember last week when I shared with you a "kit" to take a test drive with Stampin' Up!?
We all love our products and why wouldn't we want to get them at a discount…I have yet to meet someone that does not enjoy a deal!
Pick up your rental car for just $50.00 and you can fill it up with $55.00 worth of goodies…look below for another great take on a collection!
I think by now you all know that I love what I do…it is a honor to be on the PALS team with Mary Fish and I would love to have you on my fun team! I love clean and simple projects and I adore helping you have the confidence to have fun creating works of art!
Email me, I'd love to chat! Until tomorrow!

Fun pattern with the nautical paper! I made some cards in this style a while back.
Have a nice day!
Cyberhugs!
Your card is so clever today. The nautical prints are fun. This is one of those designs that looks so intricate but is really quite easy. I will remember to mount the squares on a plain backing. It helps the pieces stand out. Thanks for the tips!
So crisp and clean, Susan! This is nautical at its best. Thanks for playing along with the color challenge at PPA. 🙂
Beautiful, Susan! This is nautical at its best. So clean and fresh! Thanks for playing along with this week’s PPA challenge.
Fun card, Susan and I love that paper. Thanks for sharing.
Great card Susan! You are always so good at giving really great directions too. And on the face of it, it looks so hard.
Hi Susan!
The blog hop was amazing! I’m with you, the talent in your PALS group is outstanding, and that includes you. Plus your card today has me thinking of the upcoming holiday and people who would love to receive this card.
Also, I just this minute received my ribbon share, and want to thank you for the care and organization you put in to it. Note to everyone: you definitely get much more than your money’s worth with this offer. Many thanks.
Ahoy matey – there is no walking the plank for you with this great card! Love the colors and the nautical theme is fun! I made one of these once but it was no way near this cool looking. The button and the ribbon is the best idea! You could easily stamp a little fish on the envelope or a shell for fun but nothing would equal that liner – I really like that! This is a great card to use for about any occasion!
Love it, Susan. I know its a nautical theme but I am into sewing lately and I see a beautiful quilt block!
I love this card! It’s a nautical theme, but it has an oriental feel to it. I can’t wait to try this pattern (which will be my challenge)! Plus there’s no stamping, just paper. All of this week’s cards are very striking, but with your signature flair. Clean & classic! another truly awesome and inspiring card Susan! Mahalo!
Wow, this is amazing! Love it.
That’s a winner Susan! I had a feeling that may have been your card before I even saw your name. Your creations are always top notch!
Very pretty, Susan! This is a great technique!
