I must admit…I am a classic at heart! I learned that honestly from my wonderful Mom and as she used to say…you can't go wrong with a clean, crisp white blouse and a navy blazer! I know that she would adore this card!
I have blogged many times before that I adore paper, and this card uses a bunch of paper but remember….use the inside parts that no one will see and pop out punches…use framelits if you can…just make it work for you!
Let's get to it…this is easy and it does create a WOW factor and I suggest that you play around with colors! Before we go further, I have received many emails that people have been receiving their Ribbon Shares…well – I do plan to offer them again next week as I keep receiving emails…the ribbon this year is just wonderful!
HANDS DOWN – the one ribbon that totally shocked me with how luscious it is is the 5/8" satin ribbon! Today I am using the silver….but WOWZERS – the gold is elegant and will be amazing at the holidays!
The finished size of this card is 5 1/4" Square Card in Night of Navy! You can see that today I did not make an envelope but I easily could have with the envelope punch board! This is going to a special friend with a cake! YUMMERS!
The stamped image is a 3 1/2" square and it is stamped with the super new stamp set, Age Awareness! This is a photopolymer set and this makes it so easy for perfect placement! Love this set – I matted it a "smidge" larger….just 1/8"!
The next layer is Night of Navy at 4 3/4" square and then the magic happened with the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set and I stamps it with Versa Mark – next was the White Embossing Powder and then "heated up" with the Heat Tool. ( I must admit…I get as excited doing this technique as I did the 1st time – it's magic)
Again, I matted this piece a "smidge larger" and then added that beautiful ribbon…..to the base card! I was tickled with the end result and I can see that this will be a "keeper" card for me! When you break it down, it is an easy card and the end result will always bring a smile to the recipient!
The stamped image was "lifted up" with Stampin' Dimensions to give it that special finished touch! I can not imagine "card making" without these gems!
That's it…so are you going to try it? I sure hope so as it really is a pretty card! Play around with colors – bolds – neutrals…the sky is the limit!
WOOT-WOOT – I am happy that it is Friday – we have a fun weekend ahead and I am looking forward to Sunday, my Dad is in town and naturally John will appreciate a yummy breakfast to start his day!
Thanks for popping by, please subscribe to my blog if you have not done so…I love blogging and I love what I do! Have a great day and until tomorrow!

Beautiful! That stamp set always impresses (the Flowering Flourishes). I got it for my daughter’s wedding invitations, but I have used it quite a bit since that first use, too! Some young ladies came over last week for soup and to make cards and that is the stamp set we used! The girls had a great time embellishing it! Some day I really need to get around to the white on blue. It is so impressive-looking!
The Age Awareness stamp set is on my list of wants. I laugh each time I read “Happy Age Awareness Day” in the catalog!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Cyberhugs!
Beautiful card Susan; I am interested in your ribbon shares also! Thanks!
Beautiful card, very elegant. Just received the ribbon share, thanks so much for offering it. It’s great to get a little of everything. Looking forward to using it, I like the new cotton one, gorgeous colors.
Thanks and have a joy filled week-end.
Beautiful card! I received my ribbon share and can’t wait to start using it. Thanks so much!
You fooled me Susan. I thought the background was some new DSP not stamped! Great job as usual. I really like this one! Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!
Perfect pairing of stamps! The swirls in the lettering give it a special punch to it w/ the elegant swirls in the background. I thought you were using a dsp as well! Mahalo for sharing this Susan! Have a great weekend with your family!
Oh my, what a beautiful card. The background had me fooled, too. Will try that for sure. Love that Age Awareness stamp set. It’s now on my list. Thank you, Susan!
Beautiful! Love the navy and white with a touch of silver. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely gorgeous!! Enjoy your weekend!
Oh, this card is GORGEOUS! I am definitely putting this one in my file to try. Love it. And thanks for the ribbon share, Susan. It’s so nice to get a sample of each to try them out. Great idea.
Susan, I would never have thought that Paper was stamped! I was so trying to figure out what paper you used, as I had to have it. LOL
Gorgeous card. And besides being so soft and gorgeous, you can recolor that ribbon.
How clever to made your own version of DSP. The navy and white are striking! Thanks for sharing this great idea!
Very pretty! : )
OMG! WOW! I thought it was dsp and am blown away by how gorgeous. Thank you for the ribbon shares. Your presentation was so professional and I just love all the colors. Can’t wait to play!
Love the card. That that was DSP also.
I love love love this card! The colors are great and I love how you made your DSP! I have that stamp set…time for me to CASE! Wonderful job! Thanks for the inspiration!
I was so ticked off when I couldn’t access your blog on Friday the 13th as well as a couple other PALS sites. So, I almost forgot to see if I could get into it today. Wowsers! I am so glad I remembered, this card is magnificent! I immediately scrolled down to see what paper you used and was sort of confused to not see what DP you had used. So, back up the top I went and started reading. This is amazing! I am so intimidated by trying the white EP on the dark colors. You have renewed my faith and I am honestly going to try this again. Halleluiah! Of course the stamp set would be a help to make the background paper. I had seen the set in the catalog but was drawn to the Happy Birthday. I thought I don’t need that set as I like the little flourish but I am not sure if I like the “p” and “b” filled in. Then, I see your picture with the other sentiments and thought, now those are fresh and fun. Crap, another set goes on the want/wish list!
Susan, What a lovely card. I love everything about this card. You make everything you do look so pretty. I love the colors and the way you did the flourish’s they are amazing. I thought it was Designer series paper. Thank you Susan. have a great stamping day. hugs, Ellen Hinds
