It's Thursday and it is Team #1 turn to take their creativity to the max and try this great sketch from the PALS very own incredible designer, Margaret Moody. I have been doing a sketch challenges / encouragement on Mondays and I hope that you will try this sketch today!
Please email me if you need help uploading it to the PPA Website! There are so many of you that do such amamzing work and I am proud of you that you love the Make in Mine Mondays…so how about playing with this challenge.
Let's go…I must say, I adore the color scheme that I used. The yellow is So Saffron and I was going to mat it on white as I figured that I would use a white envelope….but once I was pulling it together, I did not like it and decided to stick with the So Saffron and make my own envelope!
- The base is a regular A-2 card size and then I cut another piece a smidge smaller and then scored it every 1/4" to give the base some texture! When doing a technique like this, I prefer the Simply Scored Tool over the Stampin' Trimmer….why? I just think you get a deeper impression in the paper…just a personal preference for me.
These gems of paper stacks might be smaller…but WOWZERS – they carry a BIG punch! The colors and patterens are just wonderful and the best thing is that they are a perfect size for lining envelopes, covering the front of an A-2 card, using punches and framelits…endless options and the price is just $6.95!
You can see by the above picture that I simply cut a strip of the amazing paper and vertically placed it on the card before doing the stamping and banner effect! Are you wondering where this stamp came from…it is from the new stamp set, Fabulous Four and I "masked the lower sentiment" before I stamped the word "celebrate"!
The simple touch of the flower from the Itty Bity Accents Punch Pack was the perfect finale! The envelope was lined with the same paper and wouldn't you like to receive this card! Remember, it's super easy to make your own envelopes with the envelope punch board! (who ever created this I would bake a batch of cookies for to say thank-you!!!)
I had a little piece of this DSP left over and thought, what the heck – let's make the mailman smile! I adhered this to the front of the envelope and I am asked many times about if it gets torn in the mail….nope! – I do ask the post master to hand stamp it so it does not go thru the machine….works like a charm every time!
So how about playing along with the Pals this week!?!?! Please go to the website and see all of the inspiration there is with the teams take on the sketch! Again, I am super proud of those that have been trying the Monday challenges and I know YOU can do this one….very straight forward!
Please email me and I will be happy to help you upload your master-piece! I have a busy day ahead but I want to thank you for all of the great email and comments about my dear Daisy-Mae….she was only going to the vets for a yearly check-up….now worries – she a good and healthy piggie! (I told her that she had fans)
When John and I got home from work and check the answering machine…John's face was priceless as the Vet called to make sure that Daisey was doing well after her vaccinations!!!! PRICELESS!!!
Have a fabulous day and until tomorrow!

Hi Susan,
Love the colors of this card. I got to play yesterday, using up some retired DSP and supplies, with a few new ones. I used your ribbon and it was so soft. (3/8″ stitched) Love it! 🙂
Susan
Love your creation….I have had that envelope punch board for sometime now and just can’t seem to use it….it seems so complicated. Maybe you can do a tutorial for us! That would be great! I too love the paper packs.
Your card is so pretty! That piece of DSP from the stack is the one that jumped out at me from the catalog. It is the same design as the piece I liked best from one of the DSP collections in the last catalog, but with different colors. Your card makes it even prettier!
I’m glad Daisy Mae is in good shape!
Have a nice day!
Cyberhugs!
I love this color combo too and the way you turned the sketch! Perfect envelope for your card!
Very fresh and summery. I like the colors you chose and the texturizing. Hope to give the Challenge a try. Thanks for the invitation.
So simple and yet so pretty . I think the banner adds just the right touch plus all the wonderfulness of your “envie” decoration.
My sister had a itty bitty pig named Herman and he also thought he was a dog ! He was soooo cute !
Tell Terry that there are lots of tutorials on the Envelope Punch Board . you only do the first measurement . I was overwhelmed at first too until I found a video on YouTube that made it Easy Peasy !
Love the colors and use of simply scored. You are making me look twice at this DSP stack.
Sweet as can be…..such pretty colors for summer!
This is so fresh and pretty! Love the color combo and now you’ve made me want that dsp AND the stamp set!!
Love your design and the colors, makes me homesick for Hawaii.
Great card! I love all your cards, but this one just brightened my day. Thanks for sharing!
I recognized that paper too! I liked it before but this is better. The whole card is so pretty and fits the challenge. I love the little flower detail. The envelope is as gorgeous as the card! Eventually I will get the envelope punch board.
I never thought about vaccinations for Daisy and it does make sense. No vaccinations for the swine flu for her! Just kidding though that can be serious. But it makes sense since they can have problems just like dogs and cats. That is so cool that the vet called to check on her. Maybe Daisy will have to help you make a card thanking the nice vet! I am not sure what their hoof print would look like exactly.
We need to see a photo of her sitting in the car with driving Miss Daisy! There I finally said it!
You rocked that paper and color scheme. Love the embossing!
LOVE this card, everything about it. My breath actually caught as I scrolled down on the page. Thanks for sharing your creativity and a bit about yourself.
Gorgeous Susan! From scoring to DSP, you nailed it!
