Happy Saturday everyone! This catalog and me are like "Peanut Butter & Jelly"…I just love it and I will say that I think the products/stamps totally lend to making clean and simple cards…and I LIKE THAT!
Again, you do not need me at all on this card and it is like 1-2-3 to make but I will give you some tips! I tried to "discipline" myself in not "diving" into my new order and to be focused on getting the Ribbon Share orders going forward but after I sorted all of the rolls of ribbon, I rewarded my self to 15 minutes of playtime!
The stamps are easy to see during "playtime" but I needed to get into the packs of Designer Series Papers and HOME RUN….Stampin' Up! had 3 men on base and the batter hit it out of the park with the papers this year!
This paper for the envelope is from the Back To Black Designer Series Paper and it is simple WOW…soooo classic and fun! I can already see many, many amazing projects with this beauty!
I often get asked how do I line the outer part of the envelope…well it's so easy…I use the snail…all around the outer edges and trim away! This is one time that I much prefer the snail over the "green glue" as I do not want any glue bubbles behind – I like the smooth feel!
I feel like I am going backwards but here you go!
- The card is a note card size but I thought it would be fun to make a Black Note Card to really play up on the DSP and use a white envelope!
- I adore paper and I try to be frugal with my paper! You can see in the below photo that I punched out as many of the "center part" that I could – why not…I have a organizational thing? (I really do not know what it is called) that has a bunch of little drawers…I adhere on the outside a sample of the "punched" image that it is the drawers….works for me!
- The dimensions of the papers are Bermuda Bay – 4 1/2" X 3 1/4"…the black – 4 1/8" X 2 7/8" and the white stamped piece is 4" X 2 3/4"
- How about this stamp set…it is called Big News….it is super fun and all of the sentiments are fresh and fun!
- The extra touch was the stars popped out from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and the a simple black candy dot from the Neutrals Candy Dots (these little guys sure do come in handy!)
I am sure that you know someone that is totally AWESOME and what a fun and quick card! Pop back tomorrow for a 3-D fun…..I am in love with this new paper and can't wait to showcase more of it for you!
Have a great day! Until tomorrow!

I like your card! I had just watched Brian King’s video about matting and framing your images, and then your blog was up. It was just kind of funny because your card is a good example of what he was talking about!
Saving paper is such a great idea. Sometimes I can do that, and sometimes I can’t. I expected to see the stars punched out of the hidden part of the paper.
Have a great Saturday!
Cyberhugs!
I love how you punch things out of the middle of your mats! Now, how do you store the shapes and know what you have?
Good Morning, I’m loving the DSP and this layout. This colors look great together. Sometimes my little extra shapes are what inspires me to a make a certain card. I use different sizes of Lock-Ups or SU small clam shell boxes from the clearance sale. Have a great Saturday. 🙂
Susan, This card is soooooooo cute. I love the colors. I love how you punch the mat. You are so clever. I love the simplicity of this great card. Those candy dots are the best. I am so glad that Stampin Up came up with them. I love them and use them a lot. Have a great stamping day. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
Wow…what a great card….simple yet makes a statement! Love it!
Oh my, now I am regretting not ordering that stamp set! It was on and off my wish list. I love the sentiment you used and just wasn’t sure I would use the others in the set as much. I love your color choices…so bold!
Awesome card today…you are really showing your Awesomeness now 🙂
Nice card today, Susan! I love Candy Dots too. I wish they gave us more black in the Neutral collection. It seems I always run out of them first.
I agree with Bridget’s comment about Brian’s video and then your card. I usually click on your’s first but for some reason I did his first today. It was a wonderful video and so informative. Your card is nothing short of awesome itself! I totally love the whole card and I do like the nonrounded corners better. O.k. now send this card to Brian and sign your name and mine!
I can totally see you doing the same type of matting video as your first one for us!
Great CAS card. Love the layers and the colors you used.
