Happy Saturday to all! I made it to Charlotte (finally after being delayed 3 times) but I guess it was important to have a flight crew! Talk about a fast…ZOOM trip – while you are reading this…Hannah and I are probably driving home!
Nothing like helping your daughter load up her dorm room and keep her company for a 6-hour drive…(I adore the time together catching up!!!) She is a great young lady and had a wonderful experience with her internship this summer.
I was able to meet Bridget from North Carolina/France and WOW…what a treat! (Talk about 2 women talking and talking)– it was wonderful! We met and talked for 2 ½ hours and I adored every minute of it…it was a “joy” for me to meet her as it is great to have a “cyber friend” and then be able to meet in person. I cannot wait until the next time…as I know that there WILL be a next time – what a treat!
Now to the post…as I said yesterday, today and tomorrow are going to be a different type of Posts and YOU can have the opportunity to win blog candy!!! WOOT-WOOT!!!
The candy is 12 handmade cards and beautiful envelopes made from my “2 little paws”
The way you can win is super simple! I do not know about you but there are times that I find it so hard to turn on the news as it is most of the time it is….”not happy” – I like to “be happy and positive” so let’s just all be happy and share with each other what brings us joy!
Leave me a comment and let me know what brings you “joy”! I think this past week has been such a busy and exciting one for me in many ways…here are a couple of things that have happened that make me reflect what happiness and joy is to me!
From the good old dictionary:
joy
joi/
noun
noun: joy
- a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.
Here are a couple of quick thoughts that popped into my head….(naturally my dear family and health are always a top of the list but here are some other examples af what make me fulfilled)
- I had a downline send me the sweetest card and the message was beautiful. She knew that I have been super busy with work and the card truly brighten my day and it felt wonderful that she cared. Then several days later she sent me this video (46 seconds of pure joy!) – CLICK HERE and be ready for your heart to fill with joy. This is especially special to me as my love for my dogs and horses! I cannot tell you how many times I have watched this…an instant “pick me up” (thank you Nancy)
- I love to see the smile that I bring to many members at work when I sit and talk with them and just simply ask them “how they are and their family” (There are many elderly people that come to my work and often they are waiting to be picked up by a caretaker etc…and it fills my heart to take a minute and ask them – "How was your day” I will say…I need to be ready as I hear the whole family tree but I know it made them happy!
- Believe it or not…my blog brings me a tremendous amount of joy…why? Well first, I have always considered myself computer challenged and when I set a goal out to try this (it was a BIG one for me) but I have been determined and dedicated to do this. It brings me “joy’ to touch many and to know that I am inspiring you to go out of your comfort at time and try!
- This is a different one…picking strawberries and blueberries brings me so much joy! I know that this is a weird one but there is something so special to go to a farm and appreciate all of the hard work that farmers do and to be able to be in nature and pick the berries. John and I picked 28 quarts of blueberries this year and it brings be great joy to "give away" to others and see their eyes light up to have fresh berries!
Ok – ENOUGH….I could go on and on….so how about it – let's all bring JOY to each other and leave me a message below on something that brings you joy! I know that when you read others "simple pleasures of joy"…you are going to have a great day!
You can leave me a message today and you can also leave one tomorrow so this way you will have DOUBLE the chance of winning! I will use Random.com and announce the winner on Monday Morning!
Pop back tomorrow….as tomorrow will be day #2 of positiveness and I am going to throw in some more goodies to the Blog Candy of happiness! Remember, you can leave me a message today and then pop back tomorrow for more fun!
In closing…this is one statement that I have always said to my kids…and I know if they are reading today's blog…they are saying "OK Mom…I know – you have said it over and over" but it is just in my heart!
"If there is no joy in the journey – than there is no joy at the journeys end"
Thank you for being YOU and sharing a portion of your day with me! I adore your comments and I do read each of them…that in itself is a joy!
Until tomorrow….(go make someone smile today)….

What brings me joy is an unplanned totally surprise act of kindness from someone I care about!!
When my kids were younger i use to love it when they would snuggle with me.
Now that they are teenagers, I love to be in another room and listen to them giggle with their friends or just simply sit in the hallway listening while they practice their instruments.
Papercrafting always brings me joy. My 2 sons always bring me great joy! But, I’ve never known greater joy than the first time I held my granddaughter! Thanks for the opportunity to win your awesome cards!!
JOY… Your “Monday Morning Challenges” looking forward to starting my day, and each week with them!
My grandkids bring so much joy to my life. They are so sweet and I adore all 3 of them
Talking to my daughter and grand kids on the phone brings me joy. Of course I get the most joy when I actually see them! Loved the video!
Oh, so many things bring me joy! Being a Child of God brings me joy…..and having the freedom to express that joy. Being married to my fantastic husband for almost 47 years brings me joy! My family, including two wonderful grandsons brings me joy! Seeing a beautiful sunrise or sunset brings me joy! I could go on and on. I feel so blessed in this life, and that beings me joy!
Absolutely love all of your joys. Although one in particular is very close to my heart. You see your ‘weird’ joy is how my family makes a living, farming. We grow wheat, beans and corn. It’s long hard days and nights but the end result is joy and pride. Seeing the crops grow and produce an abundance of grain. To see the smile and satisfaction on my husband’s face after all the crops have been harvested, you know we were blessed with a good year. A BIG THANK YOU SUSAN FOR YOUR APPRECIATION TO FARMERS.
Making people laugh. I bubble up with joy when I text or email someone saying something witty or clever enough to make them laugh. Especially my college-age daughter. When she was in high school, she would just roll her eyes and walk away.. While she’s been away at college, my humor has apparently improved!
This week has been joyful for me, I turned the big 5-0! I was suprised with flowers from my guys, a sweet gift from my sister, and many happy birthday wishes. I have been sending cards to the”sweet ager’s” at church, it is a blessing when they express their thankfulness that some one actually thought of them. I love the inspiration you give through your cards. Thanks!
I am so grateful for so many things but especially for the quality time I get to spend with my son and his family. I am so happy for this time because my son is in the Air Force and by a miracle has been stationed in Texas after being stationed in North Dakota for 11 years! Making cards for family and friends also makes me happy!
I have to look for joy because I lost my life partner of 55 years. I can find joy in my children and grandchildren. I have wonderful friends but my loss is so raw I am struggling. I almost quit stamping but realized that activity and my stamp club family gave me some moments of peaceful distraction. I look forward to your daily post for some positive inspiration. Thank you for your uplifting outlook on life.
My grandkids (all 7 of them), my kids, the sunrise, picking green beans, eating corn on the cob, hearing a favorite song… but this week it was getting to see some long-time friends I hadn’t seen in a couple of years!!!
What brings me joy is pulling into my daughters driveway and see my grandsons jumping up and down yelling”Grandma’s here! Priceless!
there is a difference between happiness (usually the result of outward circumstances) and joy ( an inner contentment and peace no matter what surrounds you)…so what brings me joy—my faith in God and knowing He is always planning good things for me, having my family spend time together (now that they are adults with families and responsibilities of their own it is even more precious) traveling overseas and teaching others about the Life Application Bible; and the encouragement and ideas I receive from your blog and other great ladies like you and creating cards which become a gift of love to those who received them…always blessed by God’s timing (when I think of someone I send a card and don’t you know it is just when they need it!!!)
many blessings to you and yours
Marjee, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. To me, the loss of those we love is the hardest part of life. I will be praying for you as you struggle to find your way through this painful time. Don’t give up. If you are still here, God isn’t through with you. He still has something for you to do. Be open to where He leads you. Take good care. Debra
As Patti said, my JOY comes from knowing I am loved, as a daughter, by my Heavenly Father. Of course, spending time with family. Nothing is better than the first “Hello Hugs” from my grandsons when they come to play at “Mama and Poppy’s house”. I so love seeing my husband and son as they play with “the boys”. The joy on other peoples faces when simple acts of kindness are bestowed for no reason. I could go on and on. Most times true joy comes from totally unexpected places. We just need to open ourselves up to the possibilities. They are truly endless!
It brings me joy when I think I can impact someone else’s day. If I get a smile or a happy comment from a cake I have baked or from a card I have sent, it bounces back to me and gives me a happy heart. I think it is the sharing.
Oh, so much brings me joy! Being able to have a craft room where I can sit and make cards for friends and family brings me peace and joy. Being in my garden, digging weeds, listening to the birds sing, watching the robin tug that earthworm out of the ground, feeling the sun shine on my back all gives me great joy. Being at the birth of all three of my grandsons gave me a joy beyond belief! I am truly blessed.
It brings me joy to see my beautiful daughter Caitlin achieve all of her goals. She was a preemie (three) months early, and to hear the drs tell us she had little chance of survival and if she did she would have lots of problems, and to see our straight A student get her college degree, get a great job and now to own her own house, is my biggest joy!
My grandson brings me joy ~ there have been times in the last couple of years that I have felt, if I could only see my boy he could make me smile. I have been on the brink of tears and driven to his house just to see that smile and to hear him say ‘hi grandmamma.’ He lets me pick him up and jiggle him about and give him a kiss. And sometimes that’s just what I need!! My heart just explodes with joy!
My two children bring me joy–to see what awesome young adults they have turned out to be. Sitting by the lake watching the water and feeling so calm also brings me joy and peace.
I loved each and every one of the previous comments. What a great idea for a theme to comment about. I love your beautiful cards, you do such amazing work well, it really isn’t work it is joy in itself) . I have cased you many times. Thanks for all the inspiration you give every day. What gives me joy? This morning it is the morning sunshine streaming into my craft area. Makes me want to get inky. Kay V
Joy for me is…
Sitting with a cup of tea in the morning and snuggling with my boys while we watch cartoons together. Happiness is a great way to start the day!
Diana
Friends and stamping bring me JOY!
My family gives me joy–hubby of 22 years & my 4 children…seeing them grow up to love & serve the Lord. getting to spend time with them & my sisters & parents (& their families). getting to do things for & spend time with my G’pa who turned 84 this week & still lives on his own in the country! seeing the beautiful flowers in my flower bed that the Lord allowed to grow & bloom….we have a wonderful God!
My joy is living in the wide open spaces on our farm where our two little boys (ages 4 & 7) have lots of room to roam and explore. They can play hard and get real dirty and it’s all ok with me. They can wash off at the end of the day. Then daddy comes home late in the evening and they run to him for some lovin…..spiceless!!
Joy comes to me in so many forms.
Things in nature…seeing a new bloom on a flower, a family of ducks, a cloud formation that looks like an animals…I was always too busy with other things to notice this kind of thing and then I started reading “Jesus Calling” and, finally, I noticed the beauty in everything around me.
Making people happy and surprising them with a random act of kindness is another thing that gives me joy.
Spending time in my craft room making cards…I’m in a whole different mindset when I’m there and can leave all my problems behind.
Adorable videos and e-mails I get every day about animals…like the one Nancy shared with you.
Reading blogs and learning about people I’ve never met but somehow I feel close to. Yours is wonderful…having a blog of my own which sits dormant most of the time now because it’s a whole lotta work, I can really appreciate how much work you put into yours to bring us new posts and inspiration every day.
But I think the most joy comes from my little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Katy
My family brings me joy. I’m a big believer in JOY and actually sign my cards ‘Joyfully, Kathy’
Besides my own family which brings me much joy. What also brings me joy is the opportunity to volunteer with preschoolers and teaching them science. To see their eyes light up when they “get” it. They love doing the “how much juice can a diaper hold” experiment. I also bring by stuffed plush that are shaped like microbes or viruses (strep and common cold) so they can understand how hygenie works and that there really is something that makes you sick. I love to hopefully light the spark of wonder in science and then think they too can be a scientist when they grow up.
My grandson, Greyson, brings me incredible joy. Being a grandmother or in my case, Memere, is truly a special blessing. Greyson has a big sister that is our little angel in heaven and we believe Greyson was hand picked by our little Miss Clara to be with us on earth. Because of her we truly appreciate the joy that Greyson brings us every single day. He is the light of our lives 🙂
I just found your blog and that is bringing me joy. Being in my craft room brings joy. It has been a tough year and one of my favorite sayings is ‘never let anyone steal your joy’ so you have caused me to think about that this morning!
making people smile from unexpected gifts, I sent a friend a tiara last week she was so excited made my day when she sent a photo of her in it. I had one myself last night, went to Olive Garden and the people behind up as they were leaving gave us a $10 gift certificate, which we played forward and gave an extra $10 to the waitress! She smiled too
Going fishing brings me joy. As your sitting in the boat either early in the morning or just before sunset it is so calm and peaceful. Joy floods my soul.
I have been keeping a gratitude journal for the past several months. I write down each day something that I am thankful for or that has brought joy into my life. It is amazing how many little and big thing are out there that are joyful to me! It is many times family and friends but not always. I am thankful and joyful for your blog!!!!
MarjeeB, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve asked many women who’ve been married for a long time like yourself, who’ve lost their spouses if it’s much harder because they are older, and they all seem to say the same thing. The longer you know that person and grow closer to him, the harder it is to say goodbye. I’m glad you have children and grandkids and a love for stamping to keep you occupied. My heart goes out to you. ~Big Hugs ♥
~Roberta
My joy this month is my wonderful husband who has been taking care of me since having total knee replacement on the 14th. He has completely taken over and I can’t want for anything.
Aside from the obvious things like my hubby, children and grandsons; having a personal relationship with the Lord and having the assurance that when I die I will meet Him face to face and live with Him for eternity. Because of that, I have such joy in my heart and a spring in my step. Nothing can compare…..
I find joy when I wake to a beautiful warm sunny day!
As with so many others, my child brings me great joy. And being crafty also brings joy. I took a mindfulness class a while ago and it showed me how to bring even small moments of joy in to my life everyday. It has been a huge blessin.
I am involved in a fundraiser for the new Ronald McDonald house that is being built near our local hospital. We are having a ladies luncheon and as I went to businesses yesterday asking for donations for raffle prizes, my heart was full of joy at the generosity of the local businesses.
Thanks for the challenge and the pleasure it brings to think about things that bring you joy! Joy is watching two little spotted fawns romping in our yard; joy is playing with my 3 year old granddaughter and re-discovering the world through her eyes; joy is sharing the love of cardmaking with friends; joy is the life I have with a loving partner, best friend, husband. So many joys and so thankful for them!
My family are my joy, that is a given! But crafting is another joy that i love. thanks for sharing your talents.
Riding my bike in the morning and hearing the birds sing and seeing all the wildlife around our house. My children and my grandson. My dogs – they are always there at the end of a long day.
Joy for me is receiving a package from stampin up with the goodies I ordered. But the biggest joy without a doubt is my son. I just love that boy.
Being a Deputy Sheriff for many years after retirement, I to, do not watch the news it is so depressing… The things that bring me Joy are my family, grandchildren & friends. There is nothing like spending time with the grandkids and watching them grow. My daughter just blessed us with the last grandchild (they said their done) a beautiful little girl 5-weeks ago. As I old her and look at how tiny she is I know that in a blink of an eye she will be graduating from college and off to begin this journey called “life”. So I cherish every moment I am alive to see all the things life has to offer and feel blessed that God has so richly blessed me. The friendships I have gained since joining SU has been unbelievable, so I stamp on…
What brings me joy is seeing my stamping blogs each day, and then getting into my craft room and working myself. I am recovering from surgery, and I miss my stamping time so much.
JOY- My 9 beautiful grandchildren have made me most joyful for almost 19 years. Living on a beautiful lake watching the sunrises is another most joyful experience. I love my papercrafting as well as knitting gifts for others.
Thanks Susan for the opportunity of winning beautiful cards.
I find Joy in always being as positive as possible. That comes across to others and people tell me it’s so nice to see that, which also brings more joy.
Joy for me is spending time with family and friends. Either face-to-face, on the phone, email, or Facebook I love to keep in touch with the people That mean the most to me.
Glenda
The joy that I have had this week is watching 4 beautiful baby phoebes that were born on my porch. Nature is truly amazing!
The joy of fresh veggies…after a long brutal winter!!
My joys are my grandkids, who live on the east coast, however, we live on the west coast. Just spent three weeks in Virginia catching up on their lives. My second joy is making cards to send to cancer patients through an organization called Chemo Angels, such a delight to encourage other cancer patients.
Spending time with my husband brings me the most joy. We have retired early and have moved to live in Spain. We are so happy with our new life. Our 2 grown up children have just visited and we spent some great days altogether. Just perfect.
Hi Susan, this post is a wonderful idea…we all need to be reminded that there is so much joy around us. My joy comes from my wonderful husband and three daughters. I was especially lucky to experience tremendous joy this week as I spent the week helping my youngest daughter at a summer camp for blind children where she is director. Spending time with those awesome kids truly enriches my life! Oh, and stamping is joyful too!
Joy … when I know I made an impact on someone else’s life by an act of kindness or the unexpected act of kindness to me or my family .
Joy for me is spending time with my family and good friends….be it in person or on the phone. But of course….in person is the best.
So many things bring me joy: my wonderful husband, good friends and fellowship with them, music, especially live performances,
our adorable and funny cat, cardmaking and learning new techniques,
watching videos on YouTube about my favorite subject: cardmaking,
and being outside on a beautiful day. Also, my Christian faith,
without which there would be no joy in all these other things!
Sweet kisses from my little ones ages 4 and almost 6-they are just so innocent and sweet. And walking across the yard and they just reach for my hand. Brings me joy I never knew possible!
The Friday before I left for Convention, I had to have my 14 year old cat put down. I was devastated and didn’t know if I could go away or not. When my Husband and I came home Friday afternoon, the house was so empty that we couldn’t stand it. So, we went down to the Humane Society and adopted two 3 month old kittens. They are the love of my life and I did get to go to Convention. I learned so much, met new friends (including Mary Fish – WOW) and had so much fun! Making the Make N Takes, doing the demonstrations, General Sessions, making cards, it all brought me some much needed joy. So, to make a long story short, my two new kittens, Convention and making cards and projects all bring me JOY! Thanks for the opportunity!
Stamping and creating and sharing that with others brings me joy. My friend recently posted a card I swapped at convention on her blog…that brought me joy. Also…seeing the beautiful sunrise every morning on our walk brings boundless joy. Lots of joy, eh?
Joy to me is dancing! I dance whenever I can….supermarket aisles, department stores, in the laundry room. I have arthritis In my knees so it may not be as long or often as I want but those few seconds put a smile on my face (and many others too)!
My biggest joy is hanging out with my grandchildren, age 5 and 8. And an even bigger joy is that they like hanging out with me too!
For me joy is going to gospel concerts and walking the walk everyday with God. Love reading your blog everyday and always excited to see what kind of card you have for us, you are very talented and so willing to share your talent. My family and grandchildren always bring me great joy!!
All nature brings me happiness — even thunder storms! Watching a butterfly flit from flower to flower — watching seagulls at the beach — white billowy clouds — rain storms and then waiting for the rainbow to appear — This is was truly makes me happy.
there are as many ways to find joy as there are people in the world. joy to me is in the unexpected … a beautiful sunset … the surprised look of the stranger who you let go ahead of you in the grocery store line because they have fewer items than you do …watching the birds twittering in the tree while waiting for the ice pack to numb my sore shoulder after phyical therapy …look for joy everyday!
Joy – It is definitely my family. The joy in being a mother of 3 wonderful children who have grown to be successful, happy adults. The joy of having one wonderful son-in-law who is the love of my daughters life and two wonderful daughter-in-laws (one will be married Sept 6th but who is counting!)who make my sons smile everyday. The joy of being a grandmother to the cutest little girl. The joy of the love and companionship that I share with my husband of 35 1/2 years.
Joy for me is….Spending time with my two children and their families, whether in San Diego area or in Virginia. Both have children who are so precious, so kind, yet so much fun to be with. I feel complete joy just thinking about them!
What brings me joy is that my husband and I still hold hands after 37 years of marriage and all the little that he does.
So much gives me joy. Today it was: being able to run, walking with my mother in the sun and looking at great views in my hometown (being on vacation is pretty joyful too!), picking beans and a vase ful of sweet peas from the garden.
Marjee your heartache is hard to imagine. Joy for me this day is the holding of an unknown crafter close to my heart and wishing you strength, courage and resilience in the days and months ahead as you find your way. May God bring you comfort. Gentle hugs.
One of the many things that brings me joy is, “The kiss on my forehead that my husbands gives me as he leaves for work. ” Even though I’m usually asleep I feel his love and it makes me smile. Thanks for helping us remember to be joyful.
What brings me joy is my children, my job as a NICU nurse, and my craft. Every day.
I had a great moment of joy this week that was shared with my oldest son. He is in Civil Air Patrol which is an auxiliary of the Air Force. He has struggled to pass physical training (pt) so that he can rank up. This week an extra pt opportunity was offered. It was a smaller group and the encouragement they offered him was amazing! He passed and at the meeting this week he was promoted. When he was called, the room EXPLODED with applause from his fellow cadets and the senior officers. The joy this brought to me and to my son also brought tears to this Mama’s eyes! I was blessed to experience this with him. Thanks for the chance to share!
My biggest joy is spending time with my husband and our 2 shih tzu girls, Pixie & Lucy. We always have so much fun just hanging out as a family. I also love to spend time with my Mom when she is in town since I don’t get to see her that often. It also brings me great joy to see someone LOVE the card I have made especially for them. So nice to have SU as a creative outlet & to bring joy to others.
I find joy in the littlest of things…a sunny ski, the birds, my silly cats, my darling Granddaughter, my job and the people I work with….on and on. I am basically a pretty happy person BUT when my two year old Granddaughter runs to me and hugs me and says, “I love you Grandma”…..wow pure joy.
Spending time with family & friends always brings me great joy! Starting my day out seeing what new card or new project that you have to share also brings joy to my days…thanks so for much for all your inspiration!!
Your cards always put a smile on my face and give me JOY! Glad you are able to have this weekend with your daughter….making memories.
My family brings me joy!
What brings me joy is when my two daughters are home and we are all home together!
Time in my garden, “playin’ in the dirt.”
My two grandsons!! And most of all SU and the friends I have made through SU without SU I would have never met!!! And the blogs I have come in contact w because of SU
Joy comes when I am aware of the connection I have made with others.
Feeling the sun on my back and dirty hands either from dirt or ink.
What brings me joy is making something for someone to show my love. It might be a knitted scarf or baby blanket or a Hand Stamped card just to say “I love you”. Your blog is an inspiration. I like your style!!! Thanks for sharing it.
My grand kids and my dogs bring me enormous joy!!
Love your joyful blog! Unstructured weekend time with my husband gives me joy. We love to go exploring with no agenda other than to find something new. Making your own fun makes the best adventures!
So mAny things bring me joy….watching my 2 and 4 year olds explore the world around them, talking and being goofy with my husband, teaching teenagers biology and seeing their faces when they learn something new (like jello coming from the collagen of the long bones of cows and pigs), and being able to freely worship and talk about Jesus Christ without the fear of persecution. There are so many more but I’ll stop there. Thank you for your daily stamping ideas and a glimpse into your life.
I was writing my “Sunday” joy post and attempted to preview. it disappeared so I hope you don’t get three later. I’ll try again:
This is my “Sunday” comment. When I was deciding on which of many things I might post about what makes me happy I had too many choices.I figured that almost all women are busy taking care of family and friends. I would have bet that the top choices included kids, grandkids, God and others under their care. On the other side of the equasion is stealing some “me” time…whatever you call it. I like walks in the park, hearing a babbling brook, sending a card to an unsuspecting recipient, coming across a song on the radio I used to love or seeing a hummingbird up close. Another thing that gives me joy is setting the table nicely for myself and have a lovely breakfast. I take pleasure in eating slowly, savoring tastes I love and taking time to ruminate what is on my plate [pun] for the day. Simple pleasures bring huge satisfaction and I think it is OK to make me the main subject for a few minutes. It doesn’t happen that often.
My two standard poodles bring me joy now that my husband is gone. Storm was my husband’s service dog, & Beau came to our family to be Storm’s buddy. They are great friends, play & romp together outside, and are the best of companions for me. Since my husband’s death, Storm has been to therapy training, and we go to local snf’s (skilled nursing facility) once a week to bring joy & comfort to long term residents there. Its amazing how comforting that is for everyone there, and such a small thing for me to do for them. Thanks for the opportunity to win the cards.
Our grandchildren bring me great joy. The memory of the two oldest, ages 1 1/2 and 3, clinging to the leg of the table because they didn’t want to leave our house, and the fact that they STILL don’t want to leave, even though they are 11 and 13. Admiring God’s creations all around me–hearing the birds sing, watching the deer eat corn from then deer feeder in our backyard, especially the little tiny fawns with their white spots. Sunday mornings in church, enjoying the teaching of God’s word, fellowship with friends and singing hymns of praise. So much to be joyful for!
Well today is Sunday and all get to privilage to go go to church. I am dog sitting for my grand Dog. Lots to be happy about.
My grandchildren bring me so much joy. Also it brings me joy making and sending cards to extended family for every birthday and anniversary and hearing how much it means to them. Sharing with others brings joy to my heart.
Hi Susan, I love your blog and your infectious sense of joy! Spending time with my family and friends also brings me joy.
Seeing my Grandkids!!!!!! Love it!
Also used to love picking tomatoes with my Mom before she passed away. Nothing better than fresh tomatoes from the farm.
And waking up to Sunshine every AM
Love your blog and love your work!!
This is so my kind of blog. I’m currently doing this “List three positives a day, for four days” on Facebook, with some friends. One of my favorite sayings is “Attitude is a Decision.” So I’m joyful for a day to relax, no commitments, and some rain . . . makes me stay home vs. oh nice day lets go shopping. I see some Chinese delivery in my future too!
🙂
“What brings you joy?” What a great question to get people to think deep. When people are asked to describe what they remember after meeting me, most of them will reply “she is so joyful”. I cannot take any credit for this at all. I think they see the joy that only comes from my relationship with Jesus Christ as my Savior. My joy comes from The Lord.
And I also receive joy when I can open my craft studio for ladies to come and spend time together and be creative and astonish themselves at what they made. When two ladies come from totally different directions, but leave together to share a meal over a new friendship, that’s brings me joy. And then there are the memories and photos I have of the 16 years I shared with my Beloved husband before The Lord called him home. We experienced more “life” in 16 years than most people do in 60. We lived every day to the fullest after his diagnoses of inoperable cancer 6 months after we said our I Do’s. God gave us 15 1/2 more years instead of the 3 years the doctors predicted. Those memories give me joy. And then there is the voice of a 2 year granddaughter call “Grandmama, I need you.” That’s my greatest joy right now.
Thank you Susan for always sharing your projects with us and inspiring and encouraging us that we can also do it. Bless you and your family (including the 4 legged ones)
I receive Joy when I watch a sunrise or sunset in a quiet place. I listen for God’s still quiet voice and I am joyful at all He has given me.
One of things I find joy in is crafting for those I care about.
Today’s joy is reflecting on the many ways I have been blessed.
JOY! Having two sisters to have a wonderful time with.
JOYful, Is what I am when I do things with my two sisters.
I have a lot of joy right now. I am home from the hospital after surgery and enjoying my stamping blogs. I am getting ideas before going back into my craft room to work.
Nancy E
My joy is my family and friends. It doesn’t get any better than that!
Joy is having the ability to create cards and send them to loved ones and friends.
Joy today for you and Bridgett who finally were able to meet! That had to be incredible! How to cram a lifetime of events into just a couple of hours.
These are some great cards you are offering up for blog candy. I went back and looked at some of the posts on the products you used to make them as I had forgotten about them. That too, was a joy!
Oh my to only pick one! Lol. I would have to say happiness for me is being at home with my kids and hubby just doing everyday things. I am happiest at home and love where I live and just spending time with my family
Joy for me comes in so many unexpected ways. From the thrill of a nighttime thunderstorm to the indescribable breathlessness I feel when looking at a full moon. I guess most of my joy comes from the little blessings of nature. Of course, I feel boundless joy when my ‘boys’ (now 29, 28 and 25) are all together with me, which is a rare joy these days, given work and distance. Nevertheless, just loving them brings me joy. Thanks, Susan, this is a great topic for posts!
My greatest joy is found in my Savior, Jesus Christ. He is my greatest treasure and the source of true satisfaction. I find daily joy in being with my husband and relish in being loved and loving him. I find joy in hearing my grown children’s voices on the phone when they call ( they all live far away). It was a great joy to meet a new grand daughter recently and see my other two grand kids as well. I find joy in serving others and making cards is part of that. I find great joy in all of creation in its beauty. Like you said…I could go on and on. Thanks Susan for your blog. It is very helpful and informative. I read it every day:)
Crafting with friends brings me joy.
I enjoy reading your blog every day. You are always so positive and uplifting! But my happiest time is when I am with my husband and three teenager boys eating supper together and sharing our daily stories. There will always be some kind of laughter and meaningful conversations.
I am grateful that there are many things in my life that bring me joy, but one of my favorites is hearing my grandchildren call me “Fun Mama” (my grandmother name) when they want my attention. I also love to watch my grown children interacting with each other and their children. I also experience joy when my husband reaches for my hand any time we are walking, even if briefly, and knowing that at bedtime he will hold my hand as we fall asleep. Joy is teaching two year-olds in Sunday School and watching them learn to touch the Bible verse and then begin to repeat it. I have many joyful moments and feel quite blessed that I recognize them.
Family is what brings me joy. Two cousins were just here for a 4 day visit. It was such a joyful treat. It is a blessing to be surrounded by ones you love. We had a wonderful visit. I don’t have a lot of my family members left. I feel so blessed to have had this time with them. It truly brought me great joy!
You have the best blog candy ever!
