Hello my dear and wonderful followers…if you remember that yesterday I said that we had a bad storm and went to a hotel? Well…we really were hit and at first we were told that the power would be back within 24 hours….but late yesterday afternoon they changed it to Saturday….YES SATURDAY by 11:00 p.m.!
When I saw that from my computer at work….I was like – YIKES!!!!
Needless to say it could be a lot worse and I have to keep a positive attitude and know that John and I are going to have a very interesting next couple of days. I am soooooo hopeful that they are wrong with the time frame and the power will be back!
After work we packed up the dogs….(all 5 of them) and headed to my Dad's house to "camp out" until the power is back!
Jack and Charlie
For those of you that are "Daisy Mae" fans….my Dad is wonderful but I did not want to see if it was ok to bring the "princess" to his home.We told Dasiy that she needed to stay at the house and be the "Watch Pig" and protect the house! (we will be back to check her 1st thing in the morning)
Thank goodness my Dad is at his other house but we are in a planned retirement community and I think if the neighbors knew that we have 5 dogs here…..well let's say I do not think the Welcome Wagon would be paying us a visit!
So….the moral of the story is…no post for you…I am sorry…this is a "life happens" situation that I am just trying to find the humor of it all! I always think some things happen for a reason and I will be interested to see what the reason of this is!
Here are some pictures of the 5 dogs getting all packed up to go on their field trip! All is good at our house with Daisey Mae in the house being the best protect pig she can be….Arnold, Colin and the Donkey in the field…but I will say being in the middle of the country with 30 acres and no electicity…is very dark and very hot!
Tomorrow is a new day and I am sure it will be a great day! Enjoy the animals pictures!
Eddie and Norman
Murphy
He will be 13 next week and really feeling his age.
Here is the BEST picture in my mind – (Jack is not in it) but here are all of the animals before we packed up and dear little Daisy said – go leave….I've gotcha covered!
Until tomorrow!

Life, it’s not just a job, it’s an adventure! I’m glad you have somewhere to go so that you don’t have to stay in a hotel for 4 days! I hope Daisy does okay without air conditioning.
Do you have any of the card kits? They would be easy to transport to “away” so you could still do something creative! I was just looking at them with some friends in mind.
Stay cool!
See you soon!
Cyberhugs!
Susan, your heart is so big and your spirit so bright this is a blip. I loved this personal post and it inspires in its own way. Take care and remember it’s ALL good.
Hoping your power comes back on soon. Your positive attitude is inspiring, and your dogs look ready for the adventure!
How wonderful to have your Dad so close. Sorry for your extra work. Are you going to convention? Did you ever go? 🙂
WOW and double wow ! What an undertaking . The dogs look like they were ready to go on an adventure . Bless your heart I hope you will be back to normal and your little Daisy Mae can be relieved of her very important duty as Watch Pig !
Susan, I hope all of this resolves very quickly for you and your “babes”… with your adventurous attitude, this will be yet another story you will be sharing with us. Hugs….
Susan, love your stories even when there is not a card involved! Hope your power goes back on soon and Super Daisy Mae does not have to guard the homefront too much longer!
What an adventure! I can’t wait for the next chapter. Thanks for the smiles this morning!!
Sending good thoughts your way.
I feel your pain. We were without power for 12 days after Hurricane Sandy. We were so very thankful our home wasn’t destroyed like so many others but living in the house without any power got real old, real quick!
We will be thinking of you.
Love the pig! Friend of ours had a pot belly, and she even had her own Halloween costume, a sheep!!
Hope all goes well for you and your 5 “kids”
Life has a way of getting in the way of some of our best plans. The storms are hitting us as well, but fortunately no power outage, just a downed tree and a soaked garden. Have fun at the retirement community. You might find the neighbors love the dogs. They get lots of attention where my parents live. Hope your power is back on soon and Daisy Mae has her family all back under one roof
Oh, that is terrible! So glad you have such a good attitude about it. I wish you well at the camp out!
Unfortunately, your power is gone. Fortunately, you have a place to go. I definitely empathize! We would have no place to go as we have no relatives around. We would have to camp out in our basement. Thanks for the “story” and the photos!
I received my product shares today. Wow, I must say that you package them most superbly!!! Thank you for the card too. What a treasure it is and now I must try to replicate it.
Love you and your blog!

Bless your heart, I love your babies!! Thank you for taking such good care of them!! I always look forward to your posts (wanna know how many are saved in my “make THIS” file?!) and this is my most favorite post of all!!
Hang in there, and bless your dad for bringing all 7 of you to his house!! 🙂
I received my ribbon shares today and so appreciate the care with which they were packaged. Also enjoyed your sweet card. You certainly put extra effort into your business! Hope you and your dogs get back home to Daisy Mae soon and that your life can get back to “normal.”
Thanks, Susan for sharing your “slice of life”. I thought my day was going poorly until I read about yours! You are right; there is a lesson in all of these adventures that “happen” so we might as well try to make the best of it, and if no other lesson is learned…we learn what not to do next time!!!
Hope your life is back to your normal-crazy very soon!
I was reading and thought 5 dogs, well Daisy may think she is a dog, but what the heck! But, she was not forgotten – she had the most important job! I sure hope your power gets back on soon, that is a long time! Hopefully your refrig and freezer weren’t stocked to the max! Love the photos of the “kids” ready for an adventure. Hope all gets back to normal soon! Your house looks gorgeous in the photo! Cyber hugs!
Hey lady. We have electricity and u can create to your hearts content in my craft room.
Got my Ribbon Share today .thanks so much. Great made me wish I had ordered one off everything. I will look forward to the Christmas order. Good luck with all your wonderful animals. I have been through several hurricanes so know what it is like to be without power. Alyece
Susan – fingers crossed that the power comes back earlier than predicted. I hope that Daisy Mae is enjoying protecting her castle.
I am new to stamping and stumbled onto your blog during last month’s blog hop. I enjoyed it so much that I started from the beginning and read the whole thing during the past month. There are so many cards that I will be CASEing. 🙂
I got my paper and ribbon share today. As you would say, WOWZERS! The ribbon is beautiful and everything is packaged so meticulously – this must have been an enormous amount of work for you – thank you so much. I can’t wait to use all my goodies! I really liked the hello card when you blogged it, but it’s even better in person. I’m going to have to add that stamp set to my next order!
So sorry about the power situation, but glad you have a place to go to with (most of) your furbabies. What wonderful companions! I love sweet Murphy, but have a really soft spot in my heart for Norman there!
Dear Susan and family, I am so sorry about your mess you are in. I hope it gets better real soon. I know what it is like to be with out electric. We had a terrible ice storm years ago. We lost power for a week and a half. We lived with my best friend an their daughter their dog, our two children and our dog. Our kids were 11 an 9 and their daughter was 7 so it was a whole lot of craziness. Thank Goodness we are still best friends…. I hope Your adorable pig and al the other animals are going to be ok. They will be so glad to see you. Ellen Hinds
