Before we get to today's post…I need to say that I thank you. You know me well enough that it was hard for not me not post for you…but I was having a sad day with Murphy news and I thank you for all of your wonderful, kind and heartfelt words…it truly meant a lot.
I am super excited with the end result of this post for you…why??? – because I made Lemonade out of Lemons. Have you ever started out with a vision for a card to have it not turn out the way you wanted it? Well…if you are like me – this is exactly what happened to today's post but I was tickled pink with the end result!
I wanted to do a one layer card and I had some boo-boo's of ink bleeding a bit….so PLAN B goes into effect – I made some super thin slivers to cover up my boo-boo's! It might not of ended up to be a one layer card…but to me it is super simple, clean and just down right FUN!
I have lots of pictures for you today so I hope you enjoy this clean and crisp card! I just adore this sentiment – it pretty well sums a bunch of stuff up….who does not like to celebrate!?!?It is from the Fabulous Four Stamp Set!
I feel like I am at the Ritz being at a horse show with my beautiful and fun daughter….talking to each other before we go to bed and lights out by 9 as 4:40 will be here….I am in heaven! She LOVED this card and encouraged me to share it with you even though it wasn't what I planned!
I super fun flowers came from the Flower Patch Stamp Set….I think that this set deserves Stamp Set of the Year – WOWZERS….so beauiful, fun and versatile! The colors I used today were Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush, Pool Party and Crushed Curry!
You can see that I used my good old faithful go to's…the Designer Series Paper Stack from the Brights Collection! I know that they are an investment BUT they last forever! I just love not having to think…I always know that I will have something that matches!
You can see that I lined the envelope but I just could not resist stampin the from of the envelope! This just brings an instant smile to my face! It is a smile yet super effective way to make and envelope JUMP to WOW!
Now to the 2nd card…I did a BIG boo-boo up high on the card and I was getting ready to cut the front off ( of course I would not waste a big piece of white card stock) and Hannah said – "Mom…just add to it – it will be ok" – and she was right – it worked!
I simply added some more stamped images and a couple more pieces of strips of paper to balance the whole card. I just love these colors together….what do you think? Sometimes I think having 4 different colors works – what are 4 other colors that you think could work? Please put your thinking cap on and leave me a comment – I am sure that we all would love to hear!
Below is a close up of the outer envelope! I do hope that you make the mailman smile! Try it – start to do something different with your envelopes – it will make you happy!
You can see that my "trio of dots" using the fine tip end of the marker just adds the little special touch that makes it POP!
Tomorrow is the PPA Challenge – remember that I thought it was last week? Well, I am a girl scout and I am prepared and I think that you are going to love it!
Again, many thanks for your kind words, thoughts, cyber-hugs etc…..John said that Murphy was doing great and his tail was wagging when he came home…life is good!
Until tomorrow!

I love lemonade! Yep, beautiful cards. Hannah was right . . . just do it. I love the thin strips and will keep them in mind for my boo-boos too. My BIGGEST problem is space to work. If my area is totally cleared I may have a 13″ square to work,(grid glass from SU), and you know that is not the case. Yesterday I try very hard but forgot yesterday … to put my open stamp pads on the shelf above my work area. Put my decorated envelope right on top of it. UGH. Big streak across it. I didn’t have the stamp set to do another envelope. It was going to a dear friend so I used White Out. Didn’t work too bad. I was covering Hello Honey, maybe Night of Navy wouldn’t have covered so well. Enjoy your day.
🙂
I just love, love, love this card! YAY for lemonade making!
I would imagine a big smile from anyone receiving such a happy, cheerful card.Simple, but colorful. I don’t wish you any more lemons but you made some great lemonade.
Love these colors – I am thirsty for a tropical something now! Do enjoy yourself these next few days – to everything there is a season. Peace.
Awesome lemonade…. so often thinking how to fix our boo boos is what makes the best lemonade ever. I so love your style!
Today’s cards are very sweet. Just the right balance between lemons and sugar. Thanks for admitting that even superstars like yourself make boo-boos!
Lemonade is great for summer and so are the colors you used for today’s cards. I must try these sometime soon. My go to colors are craft, oatmeal, old olive, and black. Pretty neutral, but very classic. Agree on your choice of Flower Patch for set of the year. I love it too!
Wow Susan, you totally did not have to ‘fess up to your Boo Boos…no one would ever have imagined that these cards needed band-aids. They are super cheerful and hopefully cheered you up as well. Take care.
DEar Susan, I love your beautiful attitude, when life gives us lemons, we make lemonade. You card is so sweet. Hannah is a very wise and beautiful daughter. I love the colors and the card is great. It is nice to know that you admit to making Boo-boo’s. You are so talented. Have a great time with Hannah. Hugs.

Now to your card , I think you did BEAUITIFUL , and yes I have been there , and then all of a sudden wala
It turns out pretty !!! Lots of times too ,
Hugs to you my friend

I agree with the other comments, your “lemonade” came out beautifully! The small strips of paper add a nice touch and frame your focal point very nicely. I’m trying to think what four colors I might like together. What about Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Elegant Eggplant, and Perfect Plum? Too many dark colors? I wish there was a warmer light purple than Wisteria Wonder (like the old Orchid Opulence). Sometimes Wisteria W. comes out looking blue or grey.
Have a great time at the horse show!
Cyberhugs!
Great cards, Susan, it is always interesting to see what can be done when we boo-boo. Wish more of our bloggers would share their lemonade solutions. Sometimes when I’ve done a boo-boo, I just need to set it aside and come back to it and that can be almost as frustrating as the boo-boo itself. Thanks for sharing and I love the colors and stamp set you used.
Have fun with the horses and Hannah, relax and enjoy.
Wonderful and delightful card. If you hadn’t mentioned the “Boo Boos”, I would have thought you designed it this way.
Pretty delightful! I bet you even had a cherry in the lemonade! When I a little the baby sitter took me up town on Friday nites while mom and dad went bowling. We would go to this one place and I could get a lemonade with a cherry in it. They also put them in Cherry Cokes if you were good. You always knew if you had been good by the cherry in the glass. See, your cards were very good! Love all the little touches. Way to go Murphy, a little wag of the tail is awesome. A teething puppy is not! He was biting me and into everything so I put him in his crate and fled upstairs to the computer! He is hollering to the highest so I had better go check him out. He should be ready for a puppy nap!
Well I am ready for a tall glass of lemonade right about now. This envelope is the best. Gorgeous set. Have fun and get home soon miss you.
Cute and colorful ! What a great save ! Sometimes I even surprise myself how a pitiful card can be fixed ….and it is usually that lurking ink spot just waiting to pounce ! I like your card !
Big hug to your Murphy ….Did you ever see the movie Marly (sp)?
Such a cute card Susan! I love this clean and simple look and the color combination is so fresh and fun!! Your “oops” has definitely inspired me today…thank you : )
