This is a card that would be loved by anyone! My daughter Hannah left on Saturday for a semester abroad. She was super lucky that the group that she is meeting is in Washington D.C.(only an hour away) and they are there for 2 weeks to get to know each other as a group etc…before they leave for their adventure!
Last night was the 1st we heard from her and she told me a sweet story. One of her roommates found a letter that her parents tucked in her bag and Hannah thought that was the sweetest. The next day Hannah was continuing to unpack she found her own card hidden deep and she was so touched….she even said that it made her a bit teary eyed!
John and I are going to have the opportunity to go see her over the weekend so here is a card that I will somehow tuck in for another "love from home" This stamp set World of Dreams and I see so many possibilities with it!
The card size is a bit odd but no worries with the Envelope Punch Board. The size is 4" X 6" and then I used the Simply Scored and score a 1/4 in on all sides!
The "vase" is the smallest oval framelit and then I used the oval punch to do the top….( if you do not have this – you can simply use scissors) Stamp the image (I used Soft Suede) and then the same for the sentiment! You know me….I did use the stamp-a-ma-jig!
This card really came together in a jif and I have not used the Park Lane DSP much…and I thought that this print was perfect for a vase and liner!. Using 3 neutral candy dots were a balanced to add the special touch! These little dots are the BEST!
The envelope punch board to the rescue and a perfect envelope came together in a breeze….Carrying the liner from this DSP made the "peanut and butter" thing happen! That's it!
Hopefully this soft and subtle card brings a smile to your face! Please feel free to leave me a comment and share with me your thoughts! I adore the simplicity of it and I think that the deep embossed lines add a fun and classic touch!
I am having a "Play Day" for me today….to start with I get to go see the horses in Virginia and then I am going to a stamp-a-stack at another Demonstrators….I can't wait! I feel a bit quilty having a "play day" but then again we all need them!
Thanks for popping in and have a wonderful day….you all are the best – until tomorrow!

Beautiful card and story…I was Geary reading it! I have to say I don’t think I ever even saw this stamp set in the catty. Simply perfect sentiments.
oops that should say teary eyed. That’s what happens when you type in the dark!
Great sentiments in this stamp set. Such a lovely story, and card!
Lovely card! The scoring to make a frame is always such a nice finishing touch!
My daughter enjoys finding notes hidden in places, too. I finally got to do that again on this visit.
Cyberhugs from France, once again!
What a creative way to use this image…adding the vase is so clever! Enjoy your day and consider it a working field day, as I am sure you will come back with a lot of new ideas. Have fun!
Oh, your daughter will love it, Susan!
How did you make the envelope liner (using the envelope punch board)?
Thanks for sharing!

Dear Susan, What a great card. Your daughter is so lucky to have you for her mother.
Your card is so sweet and soft and gentle. I love how you made the pretty vase. Your stories are always so wonderful to hear. I wish I could join you. Happy Stamping. Ellen Hinds
Lovely story and very nice card. I had not noticed this set, so you are making me look twice. I LOVE using the simply scored and the plates to add a little detail, and always use it to score my cards.
I LOVE your card.
Simply beautiful! Your card is a keeper and the vase is so clever.
Know you’ll have a great day!
You get a play day and I have to go back to work. So unfair. I am just envious. Beautiful card.
I smiled from ear to ear when I read your comment…I am glad to hear that someone else does that too!
Hi Jennifer – I will email you as well but here you go. After I make my envelope with the Punch Board, I measure from the tip of the envelope to the corner of where it folds over. For example: If the measurement is 4 1/4 than I cut a square that is 4″ then take it to the punch board and punch in 1/8 smaller = flip and do the same…and PRESTO!!!!
Maybe I will do a blog post about this! Thanks for leaving me a comment!
Yeah! It’s a great set!
Oh Ellen, you are so kind…I would love to have a playdate with YOU!
I misses you playing!
You set up the date and we can play. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
Soft and sweet! We all feel we know Hannah through your blog stories. I think she will love this card! So, glad you get to be with her again this weekend and maybe meet some of the others that are going along! I bet you will be sending little cards to the others in one of her care packages! Hope she has a great, safe trip. I am sure you will keep us informed on what she will see and do once they go!
This is a really great card and I love the vase and the matching liner!
