Good Morning! Yesterday was a long day and a day that I sure am glad it is behind me! If you follow my blog, you know that I adore animals and they are all so near and dear to me! Murphy, our "old guy" is not doing well and he needs your thoughts and prayers!
Yesterday we found out that he has cancer and even though he has slowed down (he is 13) he always brings us an endless amount of love and joy! He is very comfortable and in no pain but it was hard to hear that reality might be facing us in the near future!
When you are reading this…I will be "on the road" with Hannah and the horses so I am totally prepared for you all week but I just could not bring myself to type up a blog! Thanks for popping by and trust me…you are going to be smiling with the posts I have for you this week! As I showed them to Hannah as I was making them over the weekend she said, "WOW Mom….these are super fun"!
So "Hannah" approved , I know that you are going to love what I have up my sleeve. I am looking forward to have a couple of "down days" with my daughter and as crazy as it sounds…getting up at wee hours and enjoying the beauty of the horses!
John just laughs and says…paper, stamps and scissors….dogs – the princess pig Daisey Mae….flowers…mucking the horses stalls…fresh vegetables and reading a great inspirational book makes me smile! It really is the simple things in life somedays that just work!
Can't wait to be back tomorrow….sorry – it was a long and hard day! Here's one that is a keeper!

Sussn, my heart is breaking and big croccodile tears are in my eyes. Big hugs go out to you. Enjoy your time with Hannah.
Awww, prayers are with you all.
I am so sorry about Murphy. So sad. Big hug.
So sorry about Murphy. Just went through losing both my 15 year old cats one right after the other. 🙁 We wish they would be around forever! Hugs
Sorry to hear about Murphy’s diagnosis. Prayers going out for him and your family.
Oh Susan! I am just getting back from vacation and am so sorry about Murphy. THis trip with Hannah will be good for you. Call me when you get back. Miss you!
So very sorry to hear that Murphy is ill. My dogs are always “family members”. Murphy knows you love him and will do what is best for him.
Praying for you and Murphy. Enjoy your time with Hannah.
I am so, so sorry to hear the sad news about your dear, sweet MURPHY. I send my heartfelt hugs and prayers to him and all of you. He is a lucky dog to have you and vice versa. Be well my friend.
Sorry to hear about Murphy. My little prayers are for both of you. It’s so hard when our furry friends are ill.
Good morning Susan. I’m so sorry to hear about Murphy. It’s very hard to see our pets get sick. But he is so fortunate to live in such a loving family! I’ll be praying for you. Have a wonderful week with your daughter!
Oh Susan….I am so sorry! When I lost my 14 yr old cat the Friday before Convention, a good friend told me: “When the Good Lord takes me home; my Mom will be waiting for me with Lucky in her arms”! Just that one sentence helped me so much. So, I hope it helps you too!
Blessings!
Sorry for your heart-breaking news, Susan, but thankful that you have a couple of fun days planned with Hannah. It will give you precious memories.
My heart is sad for you, your love of your four legged friends shines every time you speak of them. Sending you many hugs and keeping Murphy in my prayers. Glad you are getting some down time with Hannah and the horses. I love that quote at top of your blog, so very true. Love reading and seeing your creations on your blog.
So sorry about Murphy. I know I will be facing that road with my Bailey. It’s difficult to think you will never look into those
eyes again that ALWAYS look at you with love, trust and companionship. Take care.
So sorry to hear about Murphy, Susan. Please know that all of you are in my prayers. I hope that time with Hannah and the horses will soothe a little of the pain. We’ll all be waiting patiently until you return to us, and in the meantime – hugs.
Susan, It is so sad to hear about Murphy. Animals are family members through and through and my heart hurts for you. You don’t want them to suffer but yet you want them with you forever. Cyber hugs.
I’m so sorry, Susan. That is very hard news to receive. I am thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.
Oooo,Susan, I’m so sorry to hear about your baby ,I will add him to my prayers ,
Hugs to you my friend ,
Frenchie
Susan, so sorry to read about Murphy. You and your family are in my prayers. Soak up that daughter time. Laurie
So sorry about Murphy. My sister-in-law is dealing with an old and infirm cat. It is hard! Hugs to you!
I hope your horse and Hannah time is relaxing and rewarding! An adventure together before she goes off on her own new adventure!
Cyberhugs!
Praying for you! Our pets are our family.
My heart is so sad for you. I know just how you feel. In April I got news that my precious 10 year old Shih Tzu Triscuit has diabetes and will need shots twice a day for the rest of her life. I finally got used to giving those when all of a sudden she went blind. That poor little darling is trying her best to find everything in the house without bumping into things. She fell all the way down the stairs the other day, so now I have a baby gate to keep her safe. I’m reading a book on living with blind dogs and it’s teaching me a lot. Maybe they have a book on living with dog cancer that you can read. Good luck to all of you. My thoughts are with you.
Sending great big hugs to all of you and especially Murphy! I know what you are going through…it is never easy…our fur babies are part of our family!! Take care!!
Dear Susan, I am so sorry to hear this very sad news. Murphy is so loved by you and John. It is so hard to see our beautiful animals sick. You feel so helpless. I know what it is like to lose a wonderful pet. My first Irish Setter wondered off and we never found him. We hope some body loved him as much as we loved Boomer. Our English Bull Dog Katrina was killed in front of our house. I cried so much, It was like losing my child. My heart goes out to you and to Murphy. Please enjoy Hannah and her horses. My hugs to you and your family. God Please wrap your loving arms around this amazing family and Murphy. Hugs,
Ellen Hinds
Hoping and praying the vet is right about Murphy being comfortable and not in pain. As I said last night the Prednisone cane really help for awhile. More hopes and prayers for a great week with the horses and Hannah. Don’t worry about all of us – we want you back in the pink of things. I know it is hard to relax but I am glad you are with Hannah and hope you have as good as time as you can in Lexington.
Then, we can concentrate on our new puppy and getting him named! Like I said my computer time is limited right now but I will check in daily on you!
Super big hugs for you and your wonderful family!
You sure do have that right…it seems so unfair that our animals have such short lives with all of the joy they bring to us.
Oh mu gosh…I MISS YOU! I feel like it has been an eternity since we have seen each other…darn, I missed you! We are having fun!
Loved it…many thanks for sharing and it is so true…when I heard it I thought when it is time for Murphy to go he will be with my Mom who loved him – she loved to needlepoint and he has the most handsome collars you can imagine!
I am soaking it in and loving it! She is getting ready to go abroad until Christmas in about 2 weeks – trust me…I am a sponge soaking it all up!
It is hard….but I am happy that he is comfortable!Hannah and I are having a great time away! Hugs right back to you!
Many thanks Mary Ann for your thoughts…I am sorry that you are going through a tough time with your dog. I know that this is totally different but we have a horse that also has eye/blindness problems…he has a donkey as a companion to help and they are BEST friends. Do you think if you had another dog it would give your dog comfort? I realize that your dog is older but it is amazing what another animal can do! Prayers going your way!
Hi Ellen…thank you. We had a Lab do the same thing that wondered off and did the same. Our vet told me that this is a very common for an older dog to do this when they know that it is their time to go..it was hard to me to understand but it is a dogs way to not put you through the pain…
We have been noticing that Murphy has been going further from the house (we have 30 acres) and it always scares me…but he is usually under a tree or somewhere peaceful taking in the fresh air.
Murphy seems to be doing well with the meds….John said he is eatting like a puppy. I cannot wait to see puppy pictures and hear of the name!Hugs to you!
You are in my prayers. I know that my Boomer and my Katrina are in heaven. Even
though my priest says dogs do not go to heaven. I know that God made dogs and he is welcoming our wonderful pets in his
beautiful gardens. Blessings to you. enjoy Hannah and the horses. Have a great day, Ellen Hinds
Awww…Susan I am so sorry to hear about Murphy. We haven’t met in person, but I’ve been following you for awhile now, and feel like we’re friends just the same. My prayers go out to you and your family, and to Murphy too. Enjoy your time with Hannah and horses, and you know we will be here for you…always. Hugs!
My prayer for you is that whatever time you have with Murphy will be filled with memory making moments. I am so sorry the news wasn’t better.
So sorry about Murphy’s news. Following your blog, it is clear that he has been well loved and cared for as part of your family. Sending prayers for his health and little suffering.
