You know what Thursday means for me…it is the Pals Paper Art Challenge day and today’s challenge is a sketch challenge! I am getting a bit more comfortable with the sketches and this one came together like Peanut Butter & Jelly!
Here is the sketch and I hope that you will give it a try! Pop on over to the Pals Paper At Website and upload your masterpiece!
This card is very straight forward…a regular A2 White Card base (5 ½” X 4 ¼”) and then I added the Bermuda Bay (4 3/4" X 3 1/2") with the embossed Tiny Triangle Folder in Tangerine Tango(4 1/2" X 3 1/4") – a “smidge” larger is basic black, I thought it would help “POP” the birds!
This embossing folder creates such a deep impression and it gives a big WOW factor. The best tip I can give you is one of 2 things….
- Place sticky strip on the back of the card stock BEFORE you run it through the Big Shot with the Embossing Folder and then the strip peels off like a charm or….
- Use the “Green Glue” – this is the best but remember….”Less is Best”, this is the best and most affordable adhesive we have but you need to be patient with it!
The “star’ of the card is the Circle that I punched using the 2 ½” circle punch using the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper! I just love all of the colors that are in this paper and even though you might not celebrate Halloween, this is a great card….just switch up the sentiment!
Speaking of sentiments….I simply cannot get enough of this stamp set, Good Greetings. Remember this set is not one that you can order but it is one that you can earn!
Please email me and let’s come up with a plan! For an event, an order etc….of $300.00 you can get this for free along with all of the other hostess benefits! It truly is much easier than you think.
Just look at all of the great sentiments! There truly is something for all occasions. I stamped the “happy halloween” and popped it our with the window word punch and then layered a popped out piece using the Modern Label to make it POP!
Before I added this whole piece to the card I added a piece of the new Tangerine Tango Bakers twine and tied it in a simple knot. Next, I cut 2 pieces of thread about 2” long and unraveled them….placed them on top and then tied a knot. A fun effect!
The only thing left is the envelope and that was the basic liner using the envelope liner framelit….when in doubt – WHY NOT?
Please pop over and see what the other designers came up with for this challenge and then how about giving it a try! Ideas are endless and it is just fun to see what everyone comes up with!
Thanks for popping in today and I invite you to go to my online store and shop away from the comfort of your own home!
CONFESSION TIME:…..Yesterday I had to pop into a “Big Box Store” and I was soooooo overwhelmed – I went in for candles but naturally popped into the stamp/scrapbook isle to see what they had and I was soooooo confused with all of the “stuff”
This is why I adore Stampin’ Up so much…we have all that you need and like I said before – less is best and I just love shopping from home and see the Brown Truck roll down my lane.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about today’s post. I thought it was fun and festive.
Enjoy your day and until tomorrow!

Cute card! I love it when someone uses something that isn’t my favorite thing and I like how their project looks! I don’t care for Tangerine Tango, but I would make this card in these colors if I had all the same paper and embellishments.
Last time I went in one of the craft and hobby stores, when we were in the U.S. in July, I ended up demonstrating how the punches work to another customer. She bought the one we took out of the package for the demo.
Cyberhugs!
Thanks for the smile! I find it hard to use orange on a card but with this paper…it simply works!
You are a natural at demonstrating! I am sure that there are many people that purchase items from a store and have no clue what to do wit the product! I am sure you made their day!
Cybers to you!
Very cute card! And I saw a whole pile of your beautiful cards yesterday when my good friend and stamping buddy, Sue Hayes, came for a visit. She showed me the “blog candy” that you sent her…what an incredible gift. You are so talented, and so generous!
Love how the embossed folder looks like bird beaks. The twine looks great and I also like your layers. You pulled the colors from the DSP so nicely. 🙂
Susan, I love that DSP and you featured it so well! Great details, Pal!
Susan …you did a great job with these colors….love your card!
Love your card ! Love your style ! TFS
Absolutely adorable Susan. I love, love and love your card. This is my FAVE DSP (right now) =) I so love animals, birds and nature and this is right up my alley. I especially love how you tied the twine. AWESOME!!! And that embossing….WOW! So very nicely done!
Thanks for sharing with us!
This is absolutely ADORABLE! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!
Love how you let the DSP shine!
Great way to showcase that cute DSP!
A little birdie told me I would love this card and I do! The birds should be doing a little tango dance since the tangerine tango color looks so perfect with the Bermuda Bay and black matting! I adore the embossing folder on there! You could easily change the sentiments to make it a birthday card or just hello – how about flying by with a little hi!
You went all out, Susan! Love the subtle Halloween card. Aren’t we lucky to have that hostess set! It’s a keeper!!
I did not buy any of the halloween stamps, paper or accessories this year as they just did not talk to me. However as you, Brian and Mary all have used this DSP I have loved each project. Guess what I bought this week. Thanks for inspiring and enabling me. Big hugs.
I hope Hannah is doing well.
Super cute card! I love how you tied the twine and that dsp is adorable.
Such a fun and cute Halloween card! Love it!
Very fun, Susan! Especially love the frayed baker’s twine!
