This is a GREAT day as today is the day that people from all world celebrate the LOVE that we all have….making cards! I know that if you are popping onto my blog now, than you LOVE making cards and please do not underestimate what we do!
Cards are near and dear to my heart as my Mom was the "queen of card giving"…when she was ill, it was the cards that came in…and came in…. and kept coming in during her short battle with cancer that gave her such happiness, joy and inspiration.
I am not personally having an event today but please know that I have been a "worker bee" for an event tomorrow! I loss my Mom to pancreatic cancer and where I live we do not have a network for that particular type of Cancer, so I have dedicated my time to Breast Cancer.
This card is a card that will be in a bundle of cards to be sold at the Breast Cancer Tea in our community! The 1st Wednesday of the month I go with volunteers to make cards for patients that are in treatment. We usually make (15) cards of (4) different samples that I have ready to go….usuallly making 60-75 per month – it is a fun time!
The REAL hero of this day are my dear friends… Cathy who is a co-chair to this event and Jeanie….my friend and downline as Jeanie and "Sister Corda" have made over 160 tea-pots for this event! I will take a picture of the tables and event….I am so proud of everyone's efforts!
I think Sister Corda is either 83 or 87 years of age and for the past several months Jeanie and her have carved out time on making these tea pots! It will be a sea of pink tomorrow!
Ok….I know – let's get to the card…and let's get to the Blog Candy – You really do not need me on this card with the "in's and out's" as it is easy-peasy but still is a super special and fun card.

Love your cute fall card. I enjoy making cards for my family and friends because, I think, it shows how much I care. Taking the time to do something is so much more meaningful to me. Thanks for a chance to win!
I love working with paper! But mostly love making cards with my good friend, we meet weekly, I look forward to that so much!
I’m nuts about you too!! Tee hee hee! I love card making because it is a wonderful creative outlet for me. I really love 3D projects and excel at them! Take care of yourself!
Your card is so super sweet. I love making cards, looking at handmade cards, and thinking about making cards. Sometimes it takes me days to complete a card and other times I can whip one up in hardly any time at all. Thanks for a chance to win this cute and nutty set. I
Happy World Card Making Day to you, Susan and I’m nuts about stamping and the friends I have made in this craft! Making cards allows your creative spirit to roam while making a heart felt greeting for someone you care about. It is instant gratification for the giver and the recipient!
Hi Susan, this card is just over the top cute. I love making cards because I feel I truly put my heart and soul into each one and am really thinking about the recipient whole-heartedly while making them. I applaud you for your efforts and dedication to Breast cancer. It truly does honor your mom’s memory in such a special way while touching the lives of so many others. I’m sure the Tea will be wonderful.
I’m not very artistic, however, making cards allows me to create something that I feel good about. I enjoy getting cards, so I send mine hoping the recipient enjoys them. Your Breast Cancer project sounds wonderful!
I find making a card with someone specifically in mind is very satisfying and enjoyable. I use images or colors that I know that person will appreciate. I also make cards for a special ministry at our church — when we pray for someone in our Prayer Group, we send them a card to let them know we are thinking of them.
Creating fun, sentimental and beautiful cards from the most simple of items enables me to relax and enjoy the gift of giving.
Cute card. I really am going to get that paper! Card making has changed my view of myself – I thought I was colour challenged and totally lacking in creativity and I find that I’m not! Not only can I make cards, I can even invent my own (although my card for the swap is challenging me presently!)
I love working in my craftroom. I use Pinterest to help with the design of my card and I take it from there. I really enjoy thinking of the person I’m making the card for and design around what they like. My favorite part is to watch them open the card and watch there face. Thank you for sharing your cards and love your blog.
Cute card with such pretty designer paper, Susan! Art has always been a part of my life, and creating cards is another way that I can express myself. I love water coloring and seeing the stamped figures come to life! It’s also such a joy to send them and find out how much a home made card means to the recipient.
Your card is adorable but I have to thank you for your work in helping breast cancer patients! I just lost my sister on Aug.7th. I am sure these ladies love having a fun distraction from their illness.
Hi. . . I enjoy your blog and love the nuts about you card. . . I enjoy making cards for family and friends and give them several cards for different occasions for them to give. . . I also send cards to my Mom twice a week . . . she has dementia and the aide at the home tells me she loves getting them. . . So since I can’t visit her because we live in different states. . . I let her know I’m thinkinking of her always. . . Thank you for the chance to win some blog candy!
Hi Susan,
I love making cards because it makes me feel creative and I love to send something special to my friends and family. I have friends that make cards too so it is fun to exchange ideas with them. Love your card! Thanks for the chance to win!
Darlene
I am a long-time demo for SU and just love sending cards and surprising someone with a fun card in her mailbox. Sometimes I send to a person and sometimes I send a card they can send to someone else. Either way, it is great to share what I love to do. You have helped me get so many good ideas. Love your blog!!!!
Lynn
I just love checking your blog every morning to see what new card you posted!
I also love hearing your stories, just wonderful thanks for sharing
I like to make cards for gifts. A cute package with a few handmade cards inside makes a great way to say “Thank you” to a co-worker when they do that “something extra” for you!
Kudos to you Susan for spending this day doing “something extra” for others!!
I love making cards but especially giving them. It always makes people feel special to receive a handmade card. And I love to see the joy that they bring out in others. I also LOVE seeing how good it makes peeople feel when they come to a stamp a stack and are able to create and be proud of what they have done. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!
I love to make cards because it forces me to use the creative gifts God gave me.
I love to make cards to minister to others. (a story about my little efforts was written up in the Stampin’ Success magazine last year!) I’m so sorry about what you went through with your mother, Susan. I, too, lost my mom to pancreatic cancer three years ago. After she passed I got involved with Stampin’ UP! and it has filled the hole that was left behind. I’m so grateful to Stampin’ Up! Thanks for all your inspiration Susan. Happy World Cardmaking Day!
I love to make cards – my sister and I get together when we can and stamp cards. It has helped us bond more and we get to give wonderful handmade cards to others.
Happy World Card Making Day! I am so happy to have found this hobby and thoroughly enjoy making cards for friends and family. You are such an inspiration Susan and I so look forward to your postings and updates on what you are doing. Happy day to you!
I love making cards for the shear joy of putting a smile on someone’s face when they receive it in the mail & know that I am thinking of them. Plus, it is a great relaxing time for myself when I am in my craft room planning a card layout………you need time for yourself when you are a caregiver! Mom has dementia & card making keeps me going! Your cards are just my style…….simple but beautiful!
Susan, I am just beginning to make cards so any new ideas are great for me. Hope to learn a lot from your ideas. I like the comments I receive on the few cards I have made. Those comments encourage me to continue.
Making my cards is a way of sharing the love and affection I have for my sweetest friends; the most sincere greeting or thank you possible. And I love to do it for myself as well – therapeutic, usually relaxing, a project, creative!! And I love that folks like you share with all of us – your stories as well as your creativity. Blessings!
Really cute care. The paper is perfect for it. I enjoy seeing your samples every day. Thanks for the chance to win.
I love making cards. It is so heartwarming to hear someone tell me how much it meant to receive a handmade card, and I feel the same way when I receive one…and can never throw them away! Thanks for inspiring us and sharing your talents with us.
First, I would like to say thank you for all you do. I am a breast cancer surviver and your support means alot. Second, I love your card. It is so cute and I love the layout. Third, Card making is fun and relaxing. Besides making cards for family and friends, I make cards for Operation Write Home. It warms my heart to be able to do a little something for our heros. TFS P.S. I don’t comment everyday, but I do visit your blog everyday and enjoy it.
I love making cards and hearing the compliments that come with receiving one that I have made. I made invitations to a 50th wedding anniversary celebration earlier this year and was thrilled when several guests sought me out at the event, just to tell me how much they loved the invitations.
Hope you have a great day!
I love making cards because the recipient will always know there is a little piece of me in it. Also, I love it whenever someone says “You MADE this? That is so cool!” Great feeling!
To me, making cards as well as a variety of 3D items, is simply a way of letting the person know how much they mean to me by my giving them a handmade item vs. it being store bought. I try to make each item unique and personal – reflecting my thought process that went into the project. Trying to reflect the recipients individuality is often an inspiration for me and the project, as well. I love your blog and appreciate your talent – thank you for this chance to win!
Cardmaking is….ME time. Time for me to release my creativity in a room that I have made fun and for me, beautiful. I listen to some music, light a candle, and pull out paper, stamps and ink and make a mess! (Then I have to clean it all up when the card is done of course, its the OCD in me!) : )
It’s going to be a Wonderful Day! Happy World Card Making Day! I love reading your blog everyday, your cards are simple, thoughtful and creative. I’m not a frilly card maker just want to put a smile on their face, let them know I am thinking about them and let them think of something else other than the daily grind. Have a Blessed Day .
I have always been crafty in one way or another. Making cards is one way that I can see my product come alive quickly. I find that making cards not only helps to keep me stress-free; it helps keep my hands out of the cookie jar!!
Your card is very sweet and the touch of whimze will bring a smile to the receipient. The red and brown combination is a pleasant combination.
I love card making because it provides an outlet for creativity and I love all things paper. You are a great inspiration and I am so thankful I have found you!
I enjoy making cards because it is a great stress relief and also because I know people enjoy getting them. I make all of the Christmas cards that my parents, Aunt and Uncle, and grandma send to their friends each year. I know they enjoy getting a bundle of cards to send out to friends each year and I am honored to help. It sounds like you are volunteering for a great cause.
Happy World Cardmaking Day. So happy to be back home and be able to check your daily blog for inspiration.
Thanks for all you do for those with cancer. I lost my Dad to cancer almost 4 years ago and know he appreciated all the cards I sent him during his illness.
Keep us the great work.
I enjoy making cards for loved ones. The cards are always appreciated and shows the recipient how much I care with a card made with love. Thank you for the opp. to win blog candy and thank you for the daily inspiration!
Hi Susan, What a lovely thing to do.
Good luck with your event!
Creating cards give me such pleasure. It is a time for me to relax and enjoy some quiet time. It is also good for my brain. I know how much receiving a card means to me and I enjoy passing that along as I create and send cards.
We usually don’t know how our actions affect others.
Cardmaking is my “ME” time! And thank you, from ME for the chance to win this lovely stamp set!
Hi Susan,
I love creating one-of-a-kind cards and gifts for my family and friends. They’re always so surprised that I’d take the time to make this just for them. I’m also a quilter, and I simply think of cards as miniature ‘quilts’.
First of all, I am nutty about this card! I love the little squirrel. That paper looks like it was made for this set. Alas, I have neither. I thought the set cost more than it does. Umm, gives me ideas. An elderly lady who was a teacher I never had (I did have her husband before they were married) came back into my life this week. She decided to send my husband a birthday card as she saw his name in the church bulletin. In it she said she missed my fun or pretty cards. I had not had an E-mail from her in several yeasts so I didn’t even know if she still lived in my hometown or not. She is 89 years young! So, I am going to make her a card to send her if not a couple more – just because I CAN! She said it made her happy to get them in the past and she has kept them all. Crossing my fingers I win this set but if not, I think I deserve a little splurge and then I can make Margaret the card – she would go nuts over it! Since it is World Card Making DAy, I will make her another one for now! Besides I need to make one for the swap also. Maybe Teddy will take a nap!
Susan, I love your simple, beautiful cards. Making a card, to me, is like being an artist. One takes individual items and puts them together to make something unique like no other! Sometimes, though, my cards make themselves. I think I know what I want to do, but something just isn’t right. I switch it around a bit and it looks much better, but not what I envisioned in the first place! Cathy L.
I make cards for all the birthdays in my and my husband’s extended family. So, making cards is about family for me! I also make cards for my husband to use for his work; he is a hospital chaplain.
Thanks you for a chance to win today! Happy Card Day to you!
i love card making, not only is it a creative outlet for me, it is also my destresser. I can get working on cards and my problems can melt away(at least for awhile). And I love to give cards to people as gifts and to send them to freinds to make them smile, it’s like spreading a little joy one card at a time.
I enjoy making cards and sending them to my friends – and hearing their comments about them. I also make cards for our library staff to give to our volunteers. It does have a calming effect on me. Unless, of course, it isn’t working out as I would have liked. Oh well. Still fun. I’m happy for this opportunity to win some blog candy.
Oh I have 4 minutes.
Card making, to me, means putting smiles on peoples faces!
?
Card making to me, means putting smiles on faces.?
Love this set. With 9 grandchildren and 1 great grand daughter, I know I could use this set many times over.
I have been stamping for over 18 years, and I never get tired of making cards for all our children, grandchildren, friends, family, etc. I love checking all the blogs for new ideas, card making magazines, etc. My hobby is very relaxing to me. I love working in, what I call my ” rubber room”.
Making a special card for someone is very fulfilling. I also enjoy receiving hand made cards, knowing the sender made it especially for me.
Thanks for sharing all your inspiration, stories about the card, etc.
Have a great weekend.
I just now got to my e-mail today and it’s 9pm here in Central time zone (plus I already have this stamp set), but I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your blog and your style of cards. I look forward to seeing your post every day – Thanks!!
Another beautiful creation by you! I look forward to your posts every day. Your cards are so clean and crisp! Card making is such a good stress reliever to me. I can go to my crafty room and get some me time. Then, back to reality!
Card making keeps me sane as a stay at home

I love making cards and hope that the cards I make puts a smile on someone’s face. I love to give sets of cards as gifts to others. Making cards just makes me feel good! I think of it as a win win!!! Thank you so much Susan for getting me started on this wonderful journey!
I love the acorn paper with the squirrel card! I was busy making placecards for a friend for her anniversary party, and never got to the emails yesterday. So, I’m too late for blog candy. I, too, enjoy making other people happy when they receive a card I’ve made.
