Today is a fun post for me and I hope that you do not find it boring! Sometimes I think that I am too "simplistic" in how I post but to me it is so darn tootin' important for you to learn the basics.
Think about this, when you see a young Sports Team (think little Middle School – High School) they need the fundamentals and basics to have success….it is the same with what we do!
We are briefly going to go over the weekend "polls" of the questions that we all had fun answering! One thing that made me super happy was the winner of the "Blog Candy"…Abbie, was SUPER excited to win and her cards and they are on their way to Arizona!
Day #1 – In Color Paper:
When I first started with Stampin' Up! , I was invited to a Stamp club and I loved it! I will say that I was not into the "lingo" that was going on around the table and I will say that it took me about 6 months to figure out what "In Color" was….I know I am being super basic but….
In Color is the "special and limited" color palettes that Stampin' Up! unveils for a 2 year time-frame. This year are the below colors and here is a card that t I made when they 1st were unveiled earlier this year….(you might be seeing this card layout again!!!)
The overwhelming results were that Blackberry Bliss was your favorite! It is such a deep and rich color! I actually liked all of the In Colors when they were unveiled – I knew that Lost Lagoon was going to be a hit but I could easily see me using Mossy Meadow at the Holidays!
What is the In Color of 2013-2015 that you are going to be the saddest to see leave!?!?!

Remember, the 2013-2015 are:
Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe,
Pistachio Pudding & Coastal Cabana
Please leave me a comment and guess what?!?!?!
YOU CAN WIN MID-WEEK BLOG CANDY…
I will give you 12 of my Handmade Cards and fun envelopes!
I just love our "conversations" thru comments and trust me, I have lots of cards that I would love to share with you so this is a super fun thing for me to do for you !
I already have my answer in my head and I am excited to see if we are on the same page. I think that it is great that Stampin' Up! offers new colors and sometimes if they are super popular, they might add them to the collection!
Day #2 – Your favorite Adhesive…
Well this was interesting! Hands down I used the snail when I first started with Stampin' Up! It was easy, predictable, and was very versatile but then I caught the sticky tape bug….just love that red tape adhesive (and I still do) but then everything turned GREEN to me…THE GREEN GLUE…..
When I first used it – I despised it…..it was too darn sticky, it was a HUGE MESS…it clogged up…..a total mess – and then…..I saw the light….
I simply could not be without it….and it is a bargain – just $3.95! Please do not get me wrong, the 3 adhesives I use most are : The Green Glue, Snail and Sticky Strip! I totally feel the need of Sticky Strip for 3 D projects – always the best choice!
Here are some pictures for you that I think will help you with the amount of Green Glue that works and that does not work….
DAY #3 Stamp Preferences…
If you had a magic wand and all of our stamps came in all 3….Photopolymer, Clear Mount and Wood Mount…which one would you prefer?!?!?!
The choice was very, very interesting again to me! The photopolymer was a huge hit ! I have to admit, I purchased the very first one that Stampin' Up! came out with and I totally DID NOT like it. It actually took me a while to order another one and now I admit, I love them!
I totally "hear" all of the comments about the fact that they do not like the way they stain…(I agree, as the "type A" in me flairs up) but I have learned to live with that! It truly does not effect the way they stamp…they just look dirty!
The majority of my stamps are the clear mount! I find them super easy for storage and I think that the "key" factor in keeping them to stick is to not only keep the blocks clean (I use Dawn Detergent about once a month) and dry them very well and then also make sure that the tops of the stamps are clean from your fingerprints! (sometimes it is helpful to keep some alcohol swabs handy so you can keep the tops clean.)
I will say, If I have a choice for LARGE stamps…I do like the Wood Mount…..I just feel like I can get a good grip! There were many comments that people feel that they can get a good grip on the wood mount and I can see their point…I think it all comes down to preference and isn't it great that Stampin' Up! gives us that opportunity to choose?
Now to the Mid Week Blog Candy…..

So bring it to a close…the question for you to have the chance to win 12 handmade cards from me is…..sorry that I do not have a picture for you…but by now – you know me – I will "hand pick" you 12 beautiful cards that I have made…just leave me a comment!
This has been fun and Iook forward to more fun in the future! Until tomorrow!

Mossy mist is my fav. Thank you for you great ideas and blog. I just became a SU demonstrator and I love your site. I appreciate all you do and share with us.
Mobile, Alabama.
Lost Lagoon for me. What a fresh color. We do have many that are similar though.
Baked Brown Sugar…I love the richness of that neutral color.
Crisp Cantaloupe …. I will weep and weep!
Love the coastal cabana. Sure will miss it!
Most definitely coastal cabana. I actually forgot it was an in color until someone reminded me!
Enjoy all them all, and would miss any one of them, a favorite I can not pick!
I will miss Crisp Cantaloupe!
I do like all of this colors but Crisp Cantaloupe is my favorite, I really would be sad to see it go.
I like coastal cabana the most.
My heart will sadden when crisp cantaloupe is gone. It is so fresh and pleasing to the eye (like all SU colors of course) and perhaps it is because of the name (always thinking of food)! Enjoy!
I would miss Coastal Cabana! Who names these colors Susan?
Hands down, Coastal Cabana! I love the beacy feel when I use it and it works so well with the other colors. It’s so vibrant and fun! So interesting to read the other comments and surprised it is not unanimously Coastal Cabana!!! Lou
Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar are close, like always, depends on the project. You get so use to the new and then comes more new. The fun of “needing” Stampin Up stuff.
Have a joy filled day.
I can’t narrow it down to just one… I love both Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana. I will miss them both 🙁
Thanks, Jess
It will be Coastal Cabana. We don’t see that color up here on the coast of Maine, but we sure see it a lot in my stamping projects! : )
I love all shades of blue, so it will have to be Coastal Cabana that I will miss the most followed by Strawberry Slush.
Coastal Cabana!! Thanks for the glue tips!!
I like Coastal Cabana. By the way. . . I love your blog. I look forward to it everyday!
It’s so hard to choose just one color as so many have said. Mossy meadow is my ‘go to’ color, but I love crisp cantaloupe. It seems to blend well with so many colors.
Baked brown sugar for sure….wish it would be adopted into the neutral family.
I will miss strawberry slush – that color just makes me feel happy.
It’s a toss up for me. Brown Sugar or Pistachio Pudding
I am absolutely stunned by the comments . There are twenty before me and I read them KNOWING that they would all say the obvious answer. And amazingly not one person mentioned strawberry slush. I adore that colour – it’s such an intense deep pink and Im not even a pink kind of person. I will have to stock up on it!
I will miss Pistachio Pudding the most!
Strawberry slush is the color I’m going to miss the most. It is a cool, refreshing pink that is one of a kind color.
Without a doubt it will be baked brown sugar.
I think that crisp cantaloupe will be sad when it’s gone because sometimes I just want a soft pink color but not really pink, so cantaloupe does the trick.
The 2013-2015 colors are all beautiful . I say stock up on your refills when your favorite is retired so you will still have it !
I agree Crisp Cantaloupe is so pretty ,then I like P. Pudding because it is so different and soft . Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana are true beauties ,but we do have similar colors .
Last ,but not least ….yay for you Susan in giving basic information ! You should start a category to go to for new stampers or people that have stamped for years ,but don`t know it all like me !
I would miss Strawberry Slush the most because it has been my go-to pink since it was released. Sure hope they keep it around!!
Oh, Pistachio Pudding, for sure. I just love that color. I use the paper all the time, as well as the ink. Love it and will miss it’s!
Although I use Crisp Cantaloupe a lot (and love it!), my very favorite is Pistachio Pudding. I am stocking up!
I have not had lots of experience using the 2013-2015 colors, but I really like Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar. I have seen quite a few fashions in the mall here in Crisp Cantaloupe. I like it on the clothes, but I haven’t used it myself, yet.
Cyberhugs!
Coastal Cabana is my favorite of these.
I will miss Baked Brown Sugar the most. It is such a warm color and is often perfect for stamping sentiments.
I will miss Coastal Cabana the most of this bunch. Although sometimes they keep a color if the demand is great, yes?
Baked brown sugar. Such a yummy color.
The one I use the most is Coastal Cabana but also really like Strawberry Slush.
Ooooh tough one…..I love Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush. Ummm…Strawberry Slush! Phew!
It’s a toss up between Crisp Cantalope and Srawberry Slush. Love those “fruity” colors.
Baked Brown Sugar. It is my “go to” brown. Unfortunately, I have had a lot of friends who have lost their pets this year; sad year for all of us. I have used Baked Brown Sugar to make a lot of sympathy cards for pets who have passed on. On a happy note, I love the color for trees that I stamp and bird houses and owls….oh my! 🙂 Will definitely miss this color. As a side note, thanks for all that you do Susan. I really appreciate your site. 🙂
Another vote for Crisp Cantaloupe ~ I use it when I want an elegant look, wedding, anniversary, even sympathy. Layer a fancy embossed piece of whisper white on top and it is gorgeous.
It is interesting about the Strawberry Slush – I do not use the paper, but I do use the ink!!
Oh, I will put your cards to great use to my favorite people!
I will miss all of them, but if I have to narrow it down to just one then it will be coastal cabana. I love how it matches so many of the colors!!
I have used and enjoyed this set of In Colors more than any of the past collections! Others have had one or two standouts for me, but each one of these colors just makes my mouth water – may it IS because of the yummy names! 🙂 If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Coastal Cabana. I can’t imagine creating without it, not only because it is such a popular color and I see it EVERYWHERE, but also because it goes with and complements so many of the other Stampin’ Up! colors. I have to think that because Coastal Cabana is one of the fabulous new Blendabilities colors, that Stampin’ Up! has plans for it beyond 2015! I sure hope so!!
I am going to miss baked brown sugar – I am currently sticking up it as much as I can. It is so versatile and goes with almost everything. Sad to see it go but can’t wait to see what the new colors are going to be – I am never disspointed
I will miss baked brown sugar just love the color!
I do have to say tho this has been my favorite group of “in colors” 🙂
Coastal Cabana is the one I will miss the most. Your green glue tips were right on…less is better, always. It is usually my first choice now.
My favorite is Crisp Cantaloupe!
Hands down it is baked brown sugar; it blends with every color and is also the best neutral color SU has. Hope it i adopted into the family next year. Thanks for the tips on the “green” glue.
Well, this is a tough one! I think I will miss Coastal Cabana the most. But, with that being said, I also think Crisp Cantaloupe will be my strong second choice. Both colors blend so nicely with the colors we do have. Thanks for the opportunity for some “blog candy”. Always enjoy your blog & card ideas.
I definitely will miss Coastal Cabana. It seems like I can never have enough blue, especially blue/green choices in my arsenal!
Strawberry Slush….it even sounds delicious!
I love baked brown sugar!
I find myself using Baked Brown Sugar, it’s a soft neutral that fits well on many cards.
I will Baked Brown Sugar the most.
Coastal Cabana! I had no problem in choosing this one since I just love blues!
crisp cantaloupe— I love it– I am going to make sure that I get another pack of paper before it leave as I WILL NOT stop using it, lol
It is hard for me to decide which one I will miss the most, because I like them all. So I am going to try to narrow them down. It would be Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar!
Baked Brown Sugar…..so sweet!
I will miss Pistachio Pudding, it coordinates with so many other colors and I love the sofness of it.
Coastal Cabana will be missed by me. ;(
I like Coastal Cabana the most. It’s a calm, soothing color and versatile for many occasions, and it gives a bright pop of color when used with others. Love all the tips and esp the pictures of the green glue and the tip about letting it sit for a mintue before attaching. Thanks for sharing and the chance to win some of your fabulous cards.
I’ll miss Pistachio Pudding the most, it goes with so many different colors:)
I am going to miss strawberry slush. It is a great shade of pink.
I will miss Crisp Cantaloupe the most. I have used it to make several cards.
Coastal Cabana is definitely my favorite — I’m hoping that it might return at a later date!
I really like the 2013 in colors so this is difficult. I waver between coastal cabana, and baked brown sugar;however, I find I have been using pistachio pudding often lately. I really like strawberry slush too! I guess I like the soft muted tones. I can substitute soft suede for the brown sugar so that will narrow it down a little. I will definitely stock up on these colors before they retire!
Another tough decision. Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar are my 2 favorites in this color group. I choose Crisp Cantaloupe — paired with Calypso Coral you can create pretty flowers.
I will miss Costal Cabana! I am going to have to start hoarding some!!!!
It’s difficult to pick between Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar. I may have to stock up on both of them before they disappear. The remaining three colors are being well used, too, so they will also be missed. I’m sure that SU will come out with five new colors to blow us away next year. Liked all the information about glue.
I’ll miss baked brown sugar the most, but strawberry sllush is a close second. (I’m a pink girl!)
I will miss Strawberry slush the most it is such a beautiful pink!
Coastal Cabana is my favorite. Hoping it will reappear in the regular lin in the future.
Crisp cantaloupe is my favorite. Although must say I love the whole family. Reminds me of spring!
Coastal Cabana will be sorely missed. It’s such a happy colour!
Coastal Cabana hands down. There are other favorites in this group too!
Definitely the Strawberry Slush.
Coastal cabana is the one I will miss most.
My favorite is Coastal Cabana…I love it for all times of the year!
Ummmm I seem to be a fickle pickle, right now none of these colors will be missed by me I don’t think. I had periods where I used each but now, I don’t think any are my favorite. Though I guess maybe the pistachio pudding since I am a green person. Maybe because they sound more like summer colors except for baked brown sugar. I do like it but right now I am more into the intense espresso color.
O.k. I see I do use too much green glue. Hey, sticky strip was not one of the three you had listed for us to choose. I do love that stuff esp for 3D stuff. o.k. my next order I will get another bottle of the green glue.
It is fun to see what everyone thinks!
I bought all the outgoing IN COLORS that are being discontinued and then purchased the NEW IN COLORS… I wasn’t going to at 1st but I couldn’t help myself…
the color I am going to miss is Coastal Cabana I especially like checking the Stampin’ Up color coach for combinations
I will really miss Baked Brown Sugar. I never thought I’d like using brown so much until this color came around. I sure hope they bring it back as a permanent color.
Thank you for your blog and all you do. I learn so much from you.
I am going to miss Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana. Both are so striking and definitely my favorite.
By far my favorite is Crisp Cantaloupe! Thanks for the daily dose of inspiration!
Crisp Cantaloupe is by far my favorite … thanks for the daily dose of creativity!
Coastal cabana… I have always loved green.
Thank you for all your simple postings. I will miss coastal cabana and crisp cantaloupe.
I am still a wood stamps kind of girl.
I love Costal Cabana, makes me Happy.
I Love Costal Cabana, makes me Happy.
I will really miss Baked Brown Sugar—I hope it comes back if they do a Color refresh in the future!
I love Baked Brown Sugar – it’s not too dark or too light – just right (with a lot of other colors)!
It’s a toss-up between Coastal Cabana, which I use all year, and Strawberry Slush, which I use a lot for “summery” cards. I so don’t want to run out that I just ordered a pack of Core’ordinations card stock in the 2013-2015 colors from the SU clearance rack, before I have to whine because it’s all gone!
I will miss Coastal Cabana most of all, hands down!
Baked Brown Sugar without a doubt! It’s such a warm “snuggly” color. I wish they would bring that color into the neutrals and retire Chocolate Chip. With Early Espresso being such a popular dark brown I hardly wver use Chocolate Chip. Keep Baked Brown Sugar. .pleeeeeeze!! 🙂
I will miss Coastal Cabana, what a great color!!!
I will miss Coastal Cabana, what a great color!!!
I will miss Coastal Cabana, what a great color!!!
I guess I’d have to say I will miss Baked brown sugar the most. Coastal Cabana for me,as for many others, will also be missed.
