Happy Saturday and actually this is a super easy card that could easily be called a Simple Saturday Card! You might be hoping over from Mary Fish's blog and if you are ….welcome and this was a "not planned" blog post with Mary and I…..but as we all know sometimes spontaneity just works!
If you follow my blog, on Thursday I did a post very similar to this one but a "masculine" version…click here to see this card! Well….today – this card is one that I sent to Mary along with the box and she asked if she could share….well of course – I am flattered!
This card comes together in a SNAP with the help of the 1" punch and then the sentiment was heat embossed with Blushing Bride with the classic touch of "pearls" here & there! Remember, little accents like tis can really "perk" up a card!
I just had to send Mary some "goodies" from me….and I hope that they tasted good going across the country! I adore all of the packing that Stampn' Up! has come out with – click here to see all of the offerings!
This box is great and holds a "sweet spot" to me as it is the perfect brownie box! I decorated it with a sponge dauber and the Whisper White Craft Ink…so fast…so easy….but please let it dry well after you "dot" it up!
The sky is truly the limit when decorating our boxes and bags! The best tip I can give you ….is "just have fun" This box is the "take out box" that is in the Holiday Catalog!
I follow my Mom's lead…she would say "There is nothing more special than a beautiful package" – I can remember that when I would give her something she would just like to look at the box and "fru-fru" and say, It's just too pretty to open!
The sentiment POPPED up for the fun to happen! This is from the (appropriately called) Oh My Goodies and it is just one of those great sets to have – the sentiments are super fun and it is great that you can use our Deco Label Framlits and POOF!!!
Because I was trying to pull the packaging together with the color I used in the card…I stamped this in 2 colors, the Strawberry Slush and then the Blushing Bride. Our Extra-Large Oval Punch is perfect to POP out the sentiment and then POP it up with Stampin Dimensionals!
We are so lucky to have soooo many options to have "paper crafting fun" I encourage you to have fun and be creative with doing simple projects! This was pulled together in no time and I think it delivers a fun statement!
Do you remember on Monday that I did the fun Birthday Card for a special young lady that is turning 17? Well, here is her box that I took to her with her card, click here to see the card and then you will see how they are "pulled together"!
Well…..that's it! Fast …fun and makes a statement! You know that I adore "odd" size cards and you can clearly see with this square card that it is "totally hip to be square"
I hope that this post shows you how a simple thing like "brownies" can be jazzed up in a jif to create a special package! Stampin' Up! has it all…the stamps, the boxes, the ribbon – just have fun!
I have been very busy with the November Stamp of the Month Club…. only have (4) spots left- Please click here and here to see the post. True these are a labor of love but I adore that you are starting and completing a project…and having FUN while learning techniques!
You guys are the best and Mary is the best! Enjoy your weekend and remember….
Simple works….Simple is classic…and Simple never let's you down!
Until tomorrow!

Very nice. Love the dots. (Those Brownies looked great too!)
🙂
I just ADORE these cards and boxes – You truly are a talent and an inspiration. Thanks so much for making each morning so pleasant and keep up the great work! LOVE the colors you used here too!
Such a cute idea adding the dots. Ok, did you make those brownies too??
What a great idea and so thoughtful of you! Love the box and as always your card is spot on! Enjoy!
Another cute idea Susan! I saw Mary’s blog first and I thought boy that looks like a Susan gift and when I read the text it was yours! Yummy looking brownies! Where do you find the time to do it all? Love, Kathy
Of course I did…. My other love is cooking !!!!
Love it “spot on”!!!!!!
Hi Kathy. Thanks for the comment- when I find something that I like and want to duplicate …. I “mass produce” them…. What I mean is that I took a whole pack of the boxes and stamped them all. This way when I need a gift, I am ready to go !!!!!
Loved your card and boxes. I’m sure both receipients were “tickled pink”. They are so lucky to have a friend like you! I also agree that simple works and I like your comment ‘it never lets you down’. Very insightful, thanks!
Mary Ann beat me to the punch line of “spot on” today! What a sweet treat for Mary AND US! I think I will try your idea of the dots on the package. I am decorating a set of the tiny little boxes as an Advent project with some recycled paper and trims for a charity event! I think a little spotted box will look cute. Of course brownies would be a great treat but they won’t go in these little boxes but I am betting some little Lindt chocolate candies will fit! I would love to see what people will do with those little boxes – such a bargain for the 25 in the Holiday Mini. Oh Susan, I just noticed how you combined the purple ribbon on the other box, cute! O.k. now will you share the recipe for the brownies?
Hi Susan,
Just wondering which paper product you use to make your envelopes. Especially the Work of Art Thank You Card..
I have followed your instructions and I have made a beautiful card.
Thank you for your inspiration.
Robin Anne
Oh Chris….you ALWAYS make me laugh and smile! I am going to do a post on those little boxes in the very near future! Brownies…I love brownies and I think that the “key” is the pan I use, I have been using the same pan for YEARS and they always are so yummy and moist!
Hello and thanks for your comment! I will email you to make sure I know what card you are talking about but I use our whisper white card stock to make my envelopes! I will suggest that you also get the white in 12 X 12 sheets so if you need to make an envelope larger, you have the paper to do so!
So is this magic pan a special kind like a stoneware type or something? I must be very hard on the cheaper aluminium kind as I seem to go through a few of those. Now, are you going to share the darn recipe or not? Mine is a tried and true one on the Hershey’s cocoa can but I always am open to other versions. Is there a such thing as a bad brownie? Well, there have been some flops in my time. One I still liked that most people hated – it had shredded wheat in it and raisins. Talk about fiber rich! The crunch was a fun factor.
Did we miss that recipe?? 🙂
