Good Morning! It just does not get any easier than this…I adore all three of these colors and I wanted to do something that was sooooo incredibly easy that you could look at this and say….WOW – now that was easy!
This card you can definitely hit that "EASY BUTTON" and have a big smile on your face! Here is the color palette we are working with! I hope that you pop over to the Pals Paper Art website and see not only what the others on the Design Team came up with….I hope that you submit a work of art!
You do not need me on this one but you know me…I'll give you some tips and inspiration along the way! This card is a prime example of what a statement an Embossing Folder makes….the folder I used today is the Filigree Frame Textured Folder! It is a perfect fit for the inside of the A-2 Very Vanilla card!
I knew that I wanted to use the "joy" that I cut out from the Wonderful Wreath Framelit die but I thought it looked to "plain" just on top of the Baked Brown Sugar piece! DING-DING….I thought….hmmmmm – cut a square out of the center (using the #4 framelit) and then let the very vanilla make it POP!
I used the #4 & 5 framelits to make the square and then just adhered it to the opening! Remember, when you are cut out an intricate die like this "joy" one… place a sheet of wax paper between the paper and the die – this makes it sooooo much easier to get out!
A couple of dashes around the white frame and then the "bling" of some pearls that I colored with the Cherry Cobler blendabilities markers made the card festive and fun.
Using my old faithful…the 2013-2015 In Color Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stack in the Baked Brown Sugar made the finale quick and easy! I just love these paper collections!
Now pop over and see what others have created! It is always such a treat to see others interpretations! Thanks for popping in and please feel free to email me if you need anything!
I am just returning from the movie of the unveiling of the new Occasions Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration items…..all I can say is WOWZERS…..I will be able to pre-order items tomorrow (darn I love being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator) You all will adore them!
There is one particular stamp set that is "me" all over….the minute it came up on the screen, Jeanie laughed and said….yep – that's going to your house!!!
Please do not forget that if you want to take advantage of the December Stamp of the Month Kit, please email me as soon as possible. This is going to be a busy month and I want to prepare accordingly! Click here to see the post that I showcased it!
Until tomorrow….crazy week – it will be a Make it Mine Monday on Friday! (go figure…but Sharon will be happy!)

Can you tell me a little more about today’s card I got lost on the square framelits. You first cut a square # 5 out of the baked brown sugar? Than you cut a piece of very vanilla out with the #4 and add it to the center?
Could you let me know if this is right please.
Simple but such a pretty card!!!
Very pretty…and your envelopes always add such a nice touch!
What “joy” this brought to my morning routine! Simple, elegant, effective! Thanks Susan!
Beautiful card
Hi Susan . . . love the card. I like how the “Joy” just pops over the frame, great texture.
🙂
Hi Millie and thanks for the comment….hopefully this will help you and others…
1. Cut a square out of the center of the Baked Brown Sugar Embossed piece using the #4 Square Framelit.
2. Take a piece of Very Vanilla scraps and using both the #4 & #5 framelit…cut a square (it is a very thin square but it works perfectly to “dress up” the opening)
I hope that this helps…please let me know if anyone nees further explanation!
Gorgeous Card!
I really like this combination of colors for the Holidays, it steps away from the traditional bright red and green. I love this embossing folder, it really frames beautifully any image or die cut you choose to use, in this case, the word JOY really stands out!!
The colored pearls really are a very lovely finishing touch.
Thank you for sharing.
Very pretty, Susan!
Beautiful card. Love the color combination.
Very pretty, Susan. I love the Cherry Cobbler pearls. They add just the right touch.
Lovin’ the pearls Susan. Gorgeous card!
Thanks for sharing with us!
The glue tip is worth its weight in gold! I know a lot of people use it for thin things but I always get a big mess with it. Now I know the secret!
Oh! And your card is fab!
Gorgeous details, Susan! I love how you used the framelit and cut the window out of the center to make the sentiment pop. The pearls and faux stitching are the icing on the cake!
Oh that Joy does pop! Beautiful card……love the stitches!
JOYful card, Susan! Love those matching pearls, too!
JOY to the world, the card has come! Well, I didn’t get the card in the mail but it looks fantastic on the computer screen! The color combo is a favorite anyway but you took it way up past the chimney top on my scale! I will have visions of this card dancing in my head tonight! Now, I know I gotta have this bundle. I have been on the roof top trying to decide as I know my santa can’t get it through his head why I make cards! Do I really need another holiday set, why yes Virginia, I do believe you do. Hey, give me a break I just treated myself to lunch and a wonderful molasses frosted cookie from the bakery! Sort of a sugar high going on and a full tummy! Plus the frosty air and window shopping put me in a very joyful mood! Anyway, love the card as it is super cool! It will definitely be cased right down to the embossing folder which I have also been thinking about!
Just love all the dots of the red to make the embossing pop! Such a fun and fabulous card!
