Good Morning! There simply are no words that convey to you all how much I have missed you….missed blogging….missed creating….and simply missed being me! I am not one that is used to being down and not being able to do "simple things of dailiness"…
Today, (Tuesday the 13th) is the first time that I have posted since last Friday when I let you know that I fell and broke my ankle! I knew that it would be a speed bump but I did not think that the past several days would have been what they were….
The great news is…there is "light" as I am feeling much, much better. I had a reaction over the weekend and true I am stubborn as an ox and finally my dear John said – we are going back in to the hospital as something is not right (Sunday at 4 a.m.), he did make me laugh as he said…."let's just go now and beat the rush"….he is simply the best!
I feel like I am one tough bird but I guess I have super sensitive skin and even tough no one would believe that the pain was so bad…it was not from the break…it was an irritation from the material that was used against my skin!!! The minute they took everything off…..I was like wanting to jump off the table with joy!
The final scoop is…yes I broke my ankle and it is a spiral fracture. It looks like it will heal well without surgery but they are not going to make that final call until next Wednesday. I still have excessive swelling and now I am trying to be a GOOD GIRL and keep it UP as I want to get better!
I am soooooo hoping that I can go to Leadership at the end of the month so I really am trying to be a good patient…
The bad news is….my work studio is upstairs. I was on so many pain killers over the past several days that I have done basically nothing and be in bed but now that that the "weird sensitivity pain is gone" – I am not taking anything other than over the counter and I am hoping to be able to get back in the swing of things!
I have not been on the computer at all and later today I am going to hope to pop and see things I need to answer to etc…just to let you all know that are part of the product shares….(they will be out the door tomorrow) – John has been bringing me piece by piece to cut and I have it all done – I just need to package it and tomorrow he will mail them.
For those of you that are Stamp of the Month Clubbers…no worries either – I will work from the table downstairs and I am also going to ask Jeanie to come help me – we'll have fun! My order is to be in tomorrow.
Hopefully through my blogging you can see that I love life and that I love to experience so many different things…I deeply thank you for not loosing faith in me…I will be right back to where I was….it's just a speed bump and I need to listen to my body!
Until later…..(I promise – after I nap – I will look at emails….)

Heal quickly! The blog is great, but we want you healthy more!
Please don’t rush things Susan! We can all wait a few days for our “stampin stuff”. LOL.
So good to hear from you Susan. I’ve been thinking about you and praying for your rapid healing. I do miss your creativeness & look forward to your return, so try to relax and let your body heal. I know exactly how hard that is, but try.
Glad they figured out the source of the pain! Hang in there!! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers:-)
OMG!!! Take care! Hugs!!
So glad to hear fron you! Take it easy ( as much as you can) and don’t worry about us, we will be here when you feel better.
Wishing you a speedy recovery! I miss your wonderful posts but your health comes first!
Blessings
Take care of yourself! First! You! ~ I am attending Leadership for the first time and will depend on my upline to show me the ropes if necessary. I have no idea how large the event will be, but if there is even the remotest chance that our paths could cross, I would love to say hello in person! Here’s hoping …
How unfortunate! Hope it will heal properly, without further intervention.
I hope you heal quickly, Susan. Fractures of any sort are no fun. I trust you will follow orders and heal fast.
She’s ALIVE…! Yippie skippie Susan you have been so missed and in our thoughts! We have been missing our Monday Challenges and our fearless leader to show us the way! I can now see light at the end of the tunnel hearing that you are feeling better. The “biggie order” came yesterday and everything came through just fine. I played into the wee hours too. Thanks again for your help with that troublesome ordering and I’m all smiles. (Tell the hubby WE so appreciate him and all he is doing for you) HAVE A SUNSHINE DAY ?
Speedy Recovery!!
Glad you are doing better Susan. I also have sensitive skin. Whether it’s latex free or not, my skin turns to raw hamburg. Even using regular band aids. It’s almost like I had severe radiation done! Weird! Anyways, take care and don’t overdo. We missed you too!!! But, no worries; we will be here!
Blessings!
Sending you wishes for a good recovery from one of your followers in the UK x Oh you poor thing :>( I’ve only just found out about you accident as I have not had access to a computer for the last week and was shocked to hear your news. It is a case of ‘doctors orders’ I’m afraid as I found to my cost following a bad car accident a few years ago. Sound like you are in good hands with John though. You give so much inspiration to so many but it is now time to take it easy and put your recovery first. That way you will be back doing all that you do sooner. Take care to you and John xxx
We miss you too. Please take it easy. Allergic reactions to medical tape, wrappings is a REAL thing. Please listen to your body. 🙂
So glad you were able to eliminate the source of so much pain, Susan. Hope healing goes much more quickly now. Prayers for enough of a recovery that you will be able to attend Leadership, but don’t try to do too much. Your health is more important than anything else!
Give it time Susan.
Patience is what it takes to heal right.
Be well!
Susan, please take it easy and don’t try to rush your recovery. I broke my ankle 5 years ago and had to have surgery immediately (it would have been worse if my ski-patrol trained husband had not dealt with the injury upon finding me on the ground!) If you do decide to go to Leadership, be sure to get yourself a scooter. I used one at convention the year I broke my ankle. Hope you are feeing better SOON!
Take care of yourself. Sounds like you have a fantastic help mate. Sounds like you two are also wonderful friends which helps the healing process. I’ll be thinking about you
You are quite a trooper ! I have missed your blog, too. Get well soon !
Great to hear you are feeling a little better, I do hope you heal quickly. I know what it;s like to have a broken ankle, I fell down the stairs a year back and luckily for me hubby hadn’t left for work(5 mins later I would have been on my own) but you don’t realise how much it affects your daily life until it happens, so rest and try and keep sane we will all still be waiting for your blog posts x
Had to laugh at what your hubby said, sounds like mine too! Be a good patient and hopefully they will let you go to Leadership too 🙂
Hope the recovery speeds forward from here on out. You are definitely in our thoughts and prayers
I have been missing your daily posts! I’m glad you got the skin problem sorted out! I hope you heal quickly. When I broke my leg (and tore a ligament, but we didn’t know that at first) it was a long time before I went up and down stairs. I slept in the recliner for a couple of weeks! Rest up so you can go to Leadership! That would be sad if you had to miss that!
If you do have to do stairs, I’ve found that the best thing for my knees, and for my leg when it was still healing, is to go down backwards. Your center of gravity is totally different that way.
Cyberhugs!
Oh Susan, I am so sorry you’ve had such a terrible reaction, but so glad to hear you are doing better. John IS a cutie for sure! “let’s beat the rush” at 4 am?? Very funny! You take care of yourself, and don’t worry about us. We will be here when you are ready…. you have to make Leadership so be a good girl… 🙂 And tell John we thank him too! He’s so sweet! Hugs from Arizona..
Oh, I hope you heal quickly. I love your morning posts!
You have been missed! Even when you do not have a project, your posts are so creative and interesting. Please take care of yourself and do not push too hard. No one is going to abandon the Susan Ship!
Susan…glad you got the problem resolved….miss seeing your post and reading your lovely stories. You are amazing. Thanks again for my swatches! They arrived and I love them! Hope you get better real soon and are able to go to Leadership would love to meet up!
Inky Hugs,
Terry~
OMG! I just saw your post and I am sending hugs from FL! Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Just heard the news – so sorry! I am just getting over a severe reaction myself so I know what that feels like at least. Please take it easy and prayers that you will be able to attend Leadership! Feel better, Pal!
Such good news! I have weird sensitivities to things, too, and it’s so frustrating until they figure it out. Remember that REST is also part of healing. It’s OK to take some time for your body to recover. Thinking of you.
Is this a pay-back for taking care of John? I didn’t think so! You take care of yourself and don’t rush it. Leadership will still be around when you are able to really go. Happy Healing — all in good time! Love and hugs, Nancy B
So happy to see your post. I have been very worried about you. I’ve been sending thoughts & prayers your way!!! Take care.
Susan, just take care of YOU. When things arrive they arrive no hurry & no worries.
Important for you to take it easy, you do want to make the trip. (smile).
Sending Hug’s & Prayers your way.
Nothing can ever be simple can it? I’m glad you’ve figured out the source of the pain. Take care of yourself first and foremost!
Oh My…..I wondered where you went! Heal quickly, be safe and know that you have an angel for a husband!
Oh Susan, you need to put yourself and your injury first and foremost and don’t worry about your loyal followers! We will still be here and will be cheering your progress from the sidelines while we pray for your speedy and pain-free recovery!
Wishing your well! You and your creativity are missed but we all understand that life sometimes interferes. Take care of YOU!
I have so missed your posts and inspiration! So sorry about the bad reaction you had! I WILL be looking for you at Leadership…you should be easy to spot if still on crutches. However, I am sure you will make a speedy recovery so you won’t miss out on all the Orlando fun.
I know just what you are going thru! I broke my leg and clavicle in a ski accident and was in a wheelchair for weeks. It was a happy day when I could get downstairs to my craft room even if I had to scoot up and down the stairs in my bum. Patience!!! Is what I learned. Hang in there?
Oh Susan, take it easy, no need to rush this things. Let your hubby pamper you, heck this is the best medicine, take care of yourself when you go down the stairs, take your time.
I hope you are back on both your feet in no time at all.
many hugs from Crown Point, IN.
Take the time to heal…everything will fall into place…Just foot up..and take the rest you need…you want to avoid surgery if you can…Heal.
You take care of yourself, everything else can wait! You are the best! (((HUGS))) from Indiana!
You are blessed with a very caring husband! So sorry you had insult added to injury with the allergic reaction. Take care of SUSAN and let your body heal as quickly as possible. Praying for your recovery, peace of mind and that you will be able to attend Leadership! Hugs
Please Susan take care of yourself. We will all still be here. Read a good novel or cooking magazine or a craft magazine. Better yet watch a great cl
ean mini series like Downton Abbey. You won’t do these things when your back on your feet. Take Care.
Hang in there. Having “been there, done that” I know how frustrating it is not to be able to do everyday things. Be patient and let the healing happen. Be extra careful on those stairs! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Feel better soon
I was getting worried since you hadn’t blogged and was ready to send an e-mail – when your blog came through. So sorry for the allergic speed bump, but do take it easy. Better a good recovery now than suffer effects later on. Hope the sun is finally shining out East. Take care.
Get to feeling better soon, we miss you also:)
So glad to hear you are ok! We all missed your blog but you need to take it easy and don’t push yourself. We are all here and root’n for you. Instead of trying to make new cards perhaps you can just publish some of your favs and old standbys! Cyber hugs and well wishes!
I was glad to see your post today. I was worried about you! Glad John made you go to the hospital! Don’t be so stubborn next time. Nurse John was right!!!! Seriously, glad up are feeling better. Continued prayers for a quick recovery.
We miss you as much as you miss us! Take it easy kiddo! Just veg out with little Rosie!
So happy to see your post and an update from you! Please take good care of yourself and the rest will come together. I’m praying that you have a good week and get plenty of rest, and I’m sending you a hug!
Remember Susan….do what needs done now so you don’t pay for it later. Nothing is as important as
your healing. It might take more time than you would like, but listen to your body. There will be more Leaderships in the future for you. Be wise! Love your blog! Sounds like a fantastic husband to me.
You were missed! However I am glad you took the time off, it sounds like it has been pretty uncomfortable for you. So very sorry to hear. Praying you do not need surgery and you heel quick. What’s a sweet, sweet man John is with all his love and help. Sounds so much like my husband!
Heartfelt love, prayers and blessings to you, Sweet Susan. So sorry about your bump in the road but I have to give it to you; you have to be one of the most positive people I know! Heed the doctor’s orders and take care of yourself and GOD BLESS THAT SWEET AND WONDERFUL HUBBY OF YOURS – WHAT A GUY! Happy healing!
Glad to hear you are doing well! I am new to your blog and I was so sorry to read about your fall. I absolutely love all of your projects! I have you bookmarked now, so I will be looking on your blog daily.
Wish you a speedy recovery; don’t rush it!
I’m so sorry that you broke your ankle! But way to be a trooper! Feel better real soon!!!! <3
Please take good care of yourself! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
We miss you but your health and recovery are more important! We’re thinking of you.
So good to see you got to give us a recovery report . Please take care . Fractures need to heal properly especially ankles . We missed you .
Blessings for a healthy (speedy) recovery Susan. I concur with so many others…love your blog, creativity, and you! but taking care of yourself is top priority. We’ll still be here…hugs
Love my timely monthly kits; love your health more! Take care and don’t rush mine. I’ll get it, when I get it.
Glad you are recovering, look upon this as a “Learning Curve”, rather than a “bump” in the road.
We miss you, but we can wait. Take care.
Take care of yourself. Praying for you.
Why do we get speed bumps in our life’s journey. He is trying to tell us something and needed to get our attention. Rest and take it easy our prayers are with you for a speedy recovery
Feel better Susan
Take care of you! The blog will be here and so will we. I do miss your wonderful creations, but it’s important that you get well. Wish you a speedy recovery.
So sorry to hear you fell, if it’s not one thing it’s another. Take it slow and easy, your recovery is the most important thing. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. 🙂
Having broken my right ankle before, I can empathize with your situation. Regarding stairs, you might try going up and down on your butt. Upstairs is exhausting, but surely builds upper body strength; going down, it’s a lot safer. Using crutches on stairs is just another accident looking for a place to happen!! Is it your right ankle? Then no driving!! A real loss of independence!! Good luck to you and hope you heal quickly. Carol, an R.N.
Glad you are recovering, look upon this as a “Learning Curve”, rather than a “bump” in the road.
We miss you, but we can wait. Take care.
Susan, I can commiserate. I broke my foot, twice. Both times on the same foot. Just take it easy. Don’t Rush recovery as you might re-injure it. Get some rest.
I miss your daily blogs, but you getting better is so much more important. You know we’ll be here when your up and ready to tackle the stairs. Until then be a good girl leadership is right around the corner.
Take your time, Susan! We miss you, but want you to get on the road to recovery first. Glad you have some good help to get you through it!
So glad John is tough on you or you might still be on that stubborn streak of yours! So glad that most of your pain was just the reaction. Glad to hear they think you will heal without surgery. Will be praying for that determination to be finalized soon! You are so dedicated to still get out your shares and club items. I know everyone would understand if they had to wait a while. But it’s important to you, I know! Take care, be agood patient and tell DH thank you from all of us for looking after you!
Still praying for your healing. So glad to hear from you and that your DH is taking good care of you!
Susan, Hang in there! I broke my ankle about 5 years ago! It was a very dark time for me. I live in a house that has stairs to every floor! I had to have surgery and pins, bolts and plates put in to fix my ankle. I found out after the whole ordeal was over and I was going physical therapy, to help with the recovery, that the surgeon was “not so good!” In fact he was no longer at my clinic!.
BUT the GOOD NEWS! My ankle healed perfect! I have had no problems with it. Because of my age they have left all the “hard\wear” in my ankle.
ONE important thing! Please check this out if you haven’t already!
They came out with this kneel-on-scooter, were you put your leg with the broken ankle on and it rolls along with you! SO MUCH easier that crutches or a walker.
Just remember, this too shall pass! And You are in my prayers, Beth in MN
Oh Susan……..take good care of yourself and I hope you heal quickly. I sympathize about the bandaging. I had heel surgery once and was in agony…….thought it was an infection. When I went back to the dr. And they removed the bandaging I felt so much better……but my skin was a mess!
So happy to hear from you! By the inch it’s a cinch, by the yard it’s hard….take it slowly. You have a super attitude so that helps healing too. Hugs and prayers to you.
So sorry about your accident. Unfortunately I can relate.
Hang in there. Try to get some stamping in when you can. It is good medicine.
Miss all your inspiration.
God bless
Miss all your pretty cards.
Get better soon.
God bless
Peg
So sorry about your ankle. We miss your blog, but the most important things are your health and your family. Take care of yourself and don’t push too hard as you try to get back in gear.
Susan, I am sorry you have gone through so much, the fall, broken ankle and then the skin reation. But , hopefully you are now on the mend. take care and don’t do too much, all of your loyal blog readers will wait till you are better.
We did miss you and are happy to hear things are looking up. Wise advice to yourself…..listen to your body and rest!! We pray for swift healing and tell John he’s the best!
Take care of yourself! This is just a “bump in the road” and soon you will be back on your feet and doing all of the things that you truly enjoy. Give your body the rest that it needs and it will thank you by healing faster.
Hugs to you my friend. {Please take it easy and heal well}
We love you and are missing you !!!! Rest well and we will be right here when you return!
Please get well soon! Susan.
we all miss you……
hugs
Miss hearing from you Susan. Take good care of yourself and I hope you’re back in action soon!
