This is a super short post as yesterday morning as I was going down to the barn I fell on the ice and broke my ankle. Thankfully Hannah was already down in the barn as if I was home by myself – it would have been a long crawl to the house!
I am fine and will be just find….just a speed bump – I go on Monday for it to be casted. For those of you that know how important my animals are to me….as I laid in the snow – Hannah ran up to the house to kennel the 5 dogs and get a car…and Jack – my loyal dog would not leave my side.
When I returned home from the hospital I went to bed as I was OUT from the MEDS…Hannah put me in bed and all 5 of the dogs were by my side and would not leave their Mama!
It's my foot…not my hands….so I am determined to continue to create, inspire and have fun together! I am so thankful and blessed that it is not worse….Enjoy the day!

Susan, so glad you are okay. I am sure you are sore today. Take it wasy, don’t push too much. Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks for leadership and I will be happy to assist you any way I can.

Oh what a shame, Susan. Do hope you heal quickly. Don’t try and push yourself too much.
Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration you send our way. Now time to rest and get inspiration from others.
Oh my gosh, Susan, I am ever so sorry about your fall and your ankle. Please take good care and know hugs and prayers are sent your way. How wonderful that the pups are there to comfort you – there is nothing like it (well, except for the fact that your angel, Hannah, was there and able to assist, thank goodness)! Hang in there kiddo and sending healing light to you.

Oh my goodness Susan, I’m so very sorry to learn about your fall, now all you need to do is REST so you can get back on your feet very fast. It’s not fun to brake any part of your body but, like you said, at least it wasn’t either of your arms or hands.
Lots of healing~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~for you.
Oh No!! Thankfully it wasn’t much worse! Make sure and take your calcium, it will help with the healing process!
Oh no my dear friend! I’m so sorry. Hope you have an uneventful road to healing. 🙂
With leadership coming up you are going to have a jolly time trying to get around! I would still be going if I were you. Just make sure to keep it elevated. Advantage – front of all the lines at the airport! Hope it heals quickly! Give big hugs to all your doggies who stayed by you when you tested gravity!
So glad it wasn’t you wrist! That was my experience, twice. I don’t live in the frozen north now! LOL. I hope you heal quickly. Hugs Jess

Yikes! So sorry to hear about your fall. Just take it easy and go at your own pace. You have your guardian angels (family, friends and pups) to help you out. Now just sit back, relax and enjoy a cup of tea (or wine)!
So sorry for the setback! This could be wonderful for us, however. Now that you are homebound there is no telling what goodies you will have in store for us! Take care and heal soon and fast!
Susan, so sorry to hear about your fall. Glad it wasn’t serious enough that you have to have surgery and pins put in, and that it’s just a cast (which I know will be bad enough though right). Prayers for a speedy recovery for you.

Oh, winter! At 73 yrs now I’m so grateful I’m not slipping and sliding to our barn! How well I remember those days hauling water to the barn bucket by bucket for 5 horses and a kennel of dogs! Thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery. Blessings to you and high five to your faithful dogs.
So sorry! Hopefully you aren’t in lots of pain. Isn’t it a great feeling to have the love of your dogs? They know that something is wrong and want to be right there with you. What a blessing to have Hannah there to help you. We understand if you can’t create right now. Take care of you.
So sorry for your mishap. Such a sweet story about your pets….aren’t pets the best??? Be well.

I am so very sorry about your accident. Take care of yourself. Our animal friends just seem to know when we are in trouble and need to be by our side. I am glad your daughter was there to help. God Bless!
OH, NO! So sorry to hear of your fall but so glad we serve such a faithful, loving God. He knew you would fall and Hannah was right where she needed to be to get you the medical help you needed. I know from your posts you are happiest doing for others, now you need to let them do for you. It is hard for the “nurturers” to be the recipients of care, but allow them the blessing of serving you. John can certainly relate to a lot of what you will be feeling.Rest, create and recover. What a great time to work on your videos (hint, hint).God bless you and your family.
Oh no!! So so sorry that you fell! Glad you have family and furry friends to take care of you. Keeping you in my prayers! Take care!
Wow, so sorry to read about your fall and ankle injury! Luckily Hannah was there to get you needed help. Having broken my ankle before I know that one of the bits of best advise is to keep it elevated to keep the swelling down. Wishing you a speeding recovery with lots of comforting moments from your furry family members!
Hope you mend quickly!
So sorry to hear of your fall. I am praying that you will recover quickly and without complications. Rest up and stay warm! Hot tea and creating go hand in hand! : )
I am so sorry for your pain! You sound so positive and upbeat still! You are an amazingly positive person and I know you will heal quickly with all the good thoughts and furry support. Hang in there! Relax as much as possible, if you need a few days off we will ALL be here cheering when you return! Hugs to you! Hugs to your little peep for rescuing you with such care also!
Ouch!..hope you are not in a lot of pain. Know the feeling too well. Hope you are up and feeling better soon. Do give it some rest and healing will be faster 😉 take care.
Tough luck Susan. I feel for you and hope you heel real soon. When I was laid up with bunion surgery a few years ago I discovered online card making blogs and tutorials that took my card making to a whole new level. My point is I know you’ll use this time while you’re laid up to your advantage! I enjoy your blog so much. Thanks for sharing.

Take care of yourself and don’t worry about blogging if you’re not up to it. We will be here when you get better.
Heal quickly Susan! Nothing worse than being close to your crafting’ supplies but not able to create. Bet you are doing a lot of “designing” in your head!
So very sorry to hear the news. I hope you will be feeling better and back to yourself ASAP. Let Jack curl up next to you and keep you company while you heal. It’s the best medicine anyone can ask for. Take care.
Boy, you and John have been keeping the orthropods busy. Happy Healing, sounds like you will have plenty of attention while doing so. Love our fur babies, they always seem to know just what we need.

I’m so sorry to hear about your fall. My daughter fell down their front steps on Saturday. Thank the good lord she didn’t have their 5 mo. old baby in her arms. You are so right, it could always be worse!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
So sorry to hear of your accident. Hope you heal quickly. I enjoy reading your blog. Keep up the great work!
I’m so sorry you took a spill! I’m not sure where you live, but if it is as cold as it is in MI, it definitely wasn’t a day to lay on the ground or crawl to the house. Please take care of yourself.
I love animals too, but our days of having a barn full are over, we have one tiny 2.5 lb. Yorkie now. He’s my constant companion and is right beside me if I’m ill or napping. Nothing like having a warm dog nestled next to oneself! Even 2.5lbs. is warm and cuddly!
So sorry to hear about your fall and broken ankle. Praying for a speedy recovery.
So very sorry for your fall and broken ankle! Thank Heaven you were not injured more seriously, i.e., head etc.! Take care of yourself and rest! Hugs!
your loving animals will speed your recovery along. I know when I’m sick, having Bailey sit next to me makes the ill journey much better! take care and speedy recovery!
Susan, so sorry to hear of your fall. I am not surprised to hear that your beloved animals stayed by your side? Animals are such intuitive and loyal creatures! I wish you a speedy recovery!
Oh no! I’m so sorry you got hurt. I’m glad you have your fur babies to protect you. Prayers and hugs.
I am so sorry to hear about your fall. I feel the same way about winter and walk very carefully on snow and ice. I hope your recovery is speedy, and once you have the cast on you will be a bit more mobil without the worry of hurting it again.
take care
So sorry to hear that Susan, prayers for a speedy recovery.
I’m so happy that it wasn’t any worse for you. Bless you dog for staying with you and all of them for staying by your side. It was a blessing that Hannah was right there. I pray for a quick recovery!!!
find a comfy spot where you can reach your stampin supplies. So sorry to hear you fell. Thank goodness someone was nearby.
So sorry. Hope you heel quickly.
Oh No!!! So glad it wasn’t worse. Happy Healing. Your dogs will keep you warm and safe.
Sorry to hear of your fall! Hope you have an uneventful & fast recovery!
Take magnesium with the calcium or your body will not be able to process/absorb it–this is pretty important though most don’t know it. My son (now 21) had 8 surgeries on his leg & that is how we learned it. Heal fast!!!
Heal quickly! If you have to be laid up with a broken ankle, this is the weather for it – stay inside away from the ice, snow, and bitter cold. Take care.
The worst thing about winter! If you are on crutches, check out a rollabout or knee walker instead of crutches. It was much easier for this old lady. Mend quickly!
Oh my goodness, Susan, what a dreadful accident! I’m so glad your daughter was there and that apparently you’re going to recover okay. Take care and I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts!
Feel better, Susan! x
So sorry to hear your news. Take care and heal. We will all be thinking about you.
So sorry about your fall. So thankful your daughter was there. With all the new stamps & fun things you will find lots to do sitting down. Am sure your “best” doggie friends will be of great comfort too. Thank you for all of your inspiration and many blessings to you each day.
Just seeing this, so sorry to hear you fell, sending lots of healing prayers for you.
Sending healing energy to you!
Oh Susan ! Bless your heart (and your ankle ) Hopefully you are a fast healer ! Thoughts and prayers are on my list for you!
Oh my.. I miss a couple of days of your blog (travelling to Spain) and this happens! I am so thankful that Hannah was there to help and that it was not worse. I hope that you’re content accepting all the help that I’m sure is forthcoming. Happy healing.
I feel your pain. Last year I slipped on snow coming in the house. I was alone & had to slide on the floor & use a cooling rack to get the phone off the counter to call 911. Broke ankle & leg. Have pins & plates now. 5 months recovery.. So, all that said, I hope you have a speedy recovery!
We’re missing you! Hope you got the cast on today and healing will be clean and quick!
Missing my morning fix of smiles from you……hope you are recovering okay…..I wish I lived closer to help you out. Keeping you in my prayers.
Miss you. Hope you are feeling better.
