Good Morning! I still am so excited that Stampin' Up! is offering more Sale-a-bration items…that was totally unexpected and I am still amazed …so woot-woot to you! You can click here to see the NEW flyer and today's post is focusing on a stamp set that is from Sale-A-Bration.
This stamp set is appropriately called, You Brighten My Day…and let me tell you – YOU ALL always brighten my day! I think that this is a fun stamp set and click here to see another great project I used with this fun stamp set.
I have a ca-zillion pictures for you and I will say that I have other cards before with this technique and I do hope that you try it. Stampin' Up! has so made framelits that this would work with…just make sure that they "graduate in size" – these are some that would work – circles, squares, ovals, stars and today I am using the Starburst Framelits Die…love it!
Please feel free to email me if you have questions. I want you to know that the tape I am using is a medical tape and I just purchased it from Amazon as it was easiest for me. This was a tip that I learn from a Jennifer McQuire Video and it does the trick.
I have tried washi and masking tape but HANDS DOWN I find that this tape is the best. (I am sure that you can find it in a medical supply store) It is called 3M Micropore Paper Tape and it worked out to be around .85 per roll on Amazon.
Let the pictures roll! You can see the 5 colors that I used in the supplies below – have fun mixing and switching things up – no rules…just have fun!
Saving the best for last!I was just asked…."Do you make cards that you mess up or simply do not turn out" YEP – here is one…it happens to all of us – that's what makes life interesting!
Hopefully you have enjoyed the parade of pictures – it really is a super fun technique to play with. The over all size of the card is a 5 1/4" card and I cut all of the pieces of card-stock to a 5" square.
You can have fun with mixing and matching and also using dimensionals of you wish…it is just fun! The main reason I kept the one piece of so saffron on the tape was for ease….I was able to slip a piece underneath and never worry about peeling….redoing….this works like a charm – love this tape!
Enjoy the day, let me know how I can help you…we are on the final stretch of Sale-a-bration, let's let it go out with a BANG!
Until tomorrow…

Susan thanks for showing your boo boo we got a chuckle out of it. Great use of your fun fresh colors.
Very fun card. Love the starburst die– I like its versatility. Your colors are great too. Thanks for the tips–very helpful.
Great card. Looks like so much fun too.
🙂
Such a great idea! You seems to always have positve thoughts even when an “oops” happens on a card. I laugh often at myself!
What a great card for this sentiment and the colors are so pretty! Love the tips and your boo-boo pic! We have all had our share of “happy brain skips” then we sit back and chuckle!
What a fun card!
Love this card! I was out of town since Sunday eve with no access to “the web” (because I forgot my charger for my phone! Ugh!) so I have been on withdrawal from your projects & stories. I’m excited to get caught up! I did just take a sneak peek and saw you featured Caleb’s revamped tooth box earlier this week…I will show him the post when he gets home from school and go back to comment on that post. THANKS! I know he will be excited about it & the pic of Eddie! Also…Back to today’s post…I love your honesty in showing your blooper! Made me laugh.
Thanks for the smile! Thanks, too, for sharing the mistake. But, then, who says it is a mistake! It could be a joke! I was once given a purchased card, for my birthday I think, which opened backwards as a joke.
I really like this technique. Taping the dies in place so everything fits just right is a great idea!
I finally mailed off the cards I was working on when we were talking the other day. But, wouldn’t you know, I forgot to take a picture! I took a picture of the prototype, but the rest of them are not the same as the prototype. Oh, well. My niece will like them!
Cyberhugs!
Okay …I have the stamp set ,but I keep talking myself out of the Sun Burst Framelits ! Now I want them again! What a great mix and match card ! Love it ! You could send your “Boo Boo” card and let the receiver decide if it was made that way intentionally .
Remember Brian and the paper towel on the front of the card that he thought was part of the card makers creativity ? Giggle!
great tutorial. I’d never have thought of leaving the top sheet taped to it. and such a cute card!
thanks for sharing!
