Good morning! WOWZERS…this weather is C R A Z Y! We had a foot of snow yesterday! It was beautiful but is was unnecessary in my opinion! Being that I cannot go out and "make a difference" with shoveling, I had the pleasure of stampin'! (darn, somebody has to do it!)
For you Mom's out there…do you remember on "snow days" the revolving door of kids needing dry clothes…needing something to eat….needing a Kleenex…..needing to beg you to come out and build a snowman (well, I did do that) but I must say – I am NOT a fan of the snow…simply do not "get it"
Now that 1/2 of my life is over….what do I now deal with the snow…well…. 5 dogs = 20 paws….1 pig = 4 hoofs….and having this much snow in one day when John was at work….my little "low riders" had a tough time going outside! (They are SUPER happy that John made them a path and they are LOVIN' the snow)
Ok. ok…..enough about my life – you want to know WHAT THE HECK is this card about!?!?! Well, in person it is quite beautiful and YEP – it is big…but this is what the challenge called for! Today's card is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge!
Here is the challenge….an elongated 4" x 9-1/4" Card! You know that I LOVE odd size cards so I was super excited!
I followed the guideline, just as Cindy asked for and had fun! I hope that this inspires you to think outside of that A-2 box and try an odd size card…they are not only FUN….but they are super special!
I adore the use of the embossing folders, (YEP, Jeanie is always right – she says that these little gems bring an instant WOW to a card)….super fun and adhering them together before I brought them to the card made it super easy!
Between the "Happy" die cut and POPPING up the flower part made this card a fun…fun project – I call this an "office card" (for lots of people to sign) or an "I really like you card" (with some cookies or soup) as the odd size fits both to a tee!
Did you notice that I used washi tape across the bottom…this is something that I rarely do (as I forget about it) and I liked the effect!
I had fun…and that's what matters! Please pop back tomorrow as I have another great (2) day post ready for you! I think you will smile….no, I know you will smile!
Please feel free to email me and the goodies I used for today are below….shopping in your jammies is FUN! Be safe if you are still affected by the snow! Next week looks like a big meltdown but that means we are closer to Spring!!! YIPPEE!!
Enjoy the day, be safe and until tomorrow.

Striking card….very beautiful. I am with you on the whole SNOW scene….it just needs to be DONE! Stay warm!
Good Morning Susan, Great card, love the size. I will definitely be CASE’n it for my crochet group to sign. We meet once a week at the local Panera Bread. I make a card for each of them and we have a little pastry.
Oh Boy, do I know what you mean about the snow. I am housebound with any amount of it too. Have a great, cozy and warm weekend.
🙂
Sorry you are snowed in again! That is no fun, even when you are not able to get out much anyway. I know!
I really love your card!!! I don’t have the envelope board yet, so I can’t make my own envelope, but I do have a wedding coming up for which I could see making a card that shape. Maybe I can borrow the envelope board from the SU demo here. I don’t know when her next workshop is…
Stay warm and dry! I look forward to seeing the next 2-day project!
Cyberhugs to you!
I happen to LOVE snow days as I get the day off from work and get to stamp and play all day! I am so glad I am off today as I am going to CASE your “office” card. Perfect!! TFS
What a fun, spring card, love the colors, Washi, and size. I finally got around to using my Flower Patch set and CASED a card on Pinterest, not sure what took me so long. I will CASE your card for sure, love it.
This card is absolutely STUNNING! I LOVE the size and have never done one so I must, must try it – THANK YOU and keep warm!
Such pretty colors ! This is such a different card that it is a surprise to who ever gets it ! Love your added Triangles behind the flower . We forget that we do not have to use the whole Embossing Folder to get an effect ! Guess I need to get that Beach House Washi set …since it has Pool Party tape .Never thought I would become a collector of Washi Tape ….too many colors and patterns to ignore (giggle)
Beautiful card, thanks for sharing! I envy your snow…I would love to cuddle by the fire and gaze out at the snow. Instead I’m loathing the heat and humidity we already have here in Florida. I am NOT ready for summer yet!
Love this card! Well done!
What a long pretty card! It is rare I think to make biz envelope sized cards, and why not? I’m just loving this. Had a little giggle at you calling your pets the low riders and that you found the snow unnecessary. You have a great sense of humor.
Beautiful! Just beautiful… I love the colors, and that EF gives it a great pop of texture. I’m thinking for those that don’t have the envelope punch board, wouldn’t this fit in a regular #10 envelope? Thanks for sharing this. So sorry you have so much snow. The whole world’s weather is just crazy the last few years. Please be safe!
I love this card – smiling as this would be an early birthday card for me. But, I think maybe I will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day instead since I feel I am getting too old! Anyway, love the colors, the texture and all! I couldn’t believe that was Washi Tape!
Weather, yep crazy is a good word! We had ice on top of the snow a few days ago and now it is 47 degrees out and sunny plus melting like crazy. My low rider likes to eat the snow but has had a time negotiating in it. Trying to reteach him it is not o.k. to go inside isn’t working too well. I can’t decide if he is lazy or just ornery. I think the later!
Love this elongated card! All the components work well and I love the washi tape effect. I forget to use mine too and also like you I love the look. Looking forward to giving this idea a try.
Oh such lovely colors, I imagine that you are dreaming of Spring like the rest of us up here in NW Indiana, sheeesh!! this Winter still has a grip on us!!!
But your beautiful card really makes me think that soon, flowers and trees, and the grass will start waking up from their Wintery slumber so thank you for this sneak peek at what’s to come.
Gorgeous card! The embossing really does make everything pop and I love that flower! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
I love the two different sides of the card. Clean white with a lovely flower and the black side really makes the sentiment pop. The washi is just perfect! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
