Good Wednesday to all! Are you curious about the title of today's post? Yesterday when I saw that the Pansy Punch was on the weekly deals I just had to re-do a card that I did before as I loved it before and I love it now! This great news of the weekly deal is 1st base!
Please go to the highlighted post above as you will see how to make punching out these flowers without stress. I am sure that many of you know exactly what I am talking about…I can remember when this stamp set came out I was sooo darn tootin' excited but quickly became frustrated when I could not get them to match up with the punch!
Let's get to 2nd base…this is when I will announce the winner from the Monday Challenge! It truly makes my heart happy that many of you look forward to them and also do them! Today's winner is Joan Thompson and I am not only going to send you a White Gel Pen but I will also send you the card from Monday. I loved that card and ended up making it in several different color combinations.
Once I get the "ok" from Joan, hopefully I will share her card with you on Friday!
On Friday…mark your calendar to stop back as I am not only going to showcase the cards that you all submitted to me on Monday (with your permission) but I am going to get you all "geared up" for a BLOG CANDY that you could win….(I know that you are going to like what I have up my sleeve)
Let's get back to the card….I think that it is just fresh, fun and adorable and it would certainly brighten up anyones day and make them feel super special! Remember to click here to see the original post that I did for all of the specific scoop!
This stamp set that the "smile" is from, So You, is one that I get so many questions about! I think that it is overlooked in the Occasions catalog but I just adore the script fonts. (I hope that in the new catalog they continue to come out with fonts/sentiments like this!
Heat Embossing is still as rewarding as the 1st time I did it. It always makes me feel special and a great tip I can share with you is to have an inexpensive paint brush to "flick" away any excess powder that gets on.
You can see that I continued the theme on the front of the square envelope I made with the Punch Board – (that tool is just amazing) Today's color scheme came from the inspiration from the Flower Pot DSP…I just love that everything matches within the Stampin' Up! family!
Now we need to move to 3rd base….What in the world could 3rd base be? Silly Susan totally forgot to figure up and announce the winner of the "basic bundle" to those of you that placed an order with me last week during the free shipping….(I am sorry – guess I was just having too much fun with Hannah over the weekend)
And the winner is….Kendel Darragh and this is the bundle of basics that she won! I think that we will agree that these items are one that we use all the time! Again, many thanks to all of you that placed an order with me and I think that we all agree that FREE SHIPPING is great! WOOT-WOOT and thank you Kendel for your order!
- a pack of White 8 1/2" X 11 paper
- a bottle of mono Glue
- a pack of Stampin' Dimensionals
- a white gel pen
I sure hope that this card made you SMILE as it makes me smile. Have fun with changing up colors and make sure your garden is in full bloom – what a great way to brighten someones day!
Please feel free to email me if I can be of assistance to you…have a fabulous day – John is SUPER HAPPY that it is the 15th – this has been a particularly hard tax season for him and I am glad it is going to be over!

Very cheerful card! Another set I really need to play with more! I did order the “So You” set. It would be great if it carried over into the next Annual catalog.
Glad John has survived the tax season! We, too, had a deadline of today, but there have been no indications that it is going to mean anything.
Oh, I appreciate, too, your use of the patterned paper to choose the colors. I have a hard time with using patterned paper I’m not fond of. Perfect!
Cyberhugs!
Skype me if you get a chance!
Hi Susan, wonderful card. I too was and to be honest still am so frustrated with this stamp set and punch. I marked my little dots as top and somehow marked them all wrong. Of course I used a sharpie and then redid it with another sharpie. My stamps look like a little toddler got a pen and wrote all over them. However, I stay happy by just using the punch and it works for me. I am still disappointed that I can’t use the stamps. Only time I have ever had a problem like this. I guess it is an eye hand coordination issue with me. I would have never thought of using these colors together but they are gorgeous thanks for the post.
This is a fun card and one that does fit many card needs! Great point about the DSP that sometimes you do not care for…this is one that I did not use a bunch so I thought – what the heck…and it worked!
I am a happy wife that it is the 15th but trust me, John is happier that me!
Oh Stephanie…when I read your comment , I burst out laughing as my stamps look the same as yours…I have a Red Dot…a Green one…and then finally Jeanie helped me and there is a Black one that I use!
I felt soooooo silly that a stamp set can “stump me” with how to line up a punch…..
I am totally with you but once I had Jeanie set me straight – I am good to go!
Keep on trying my friend!
You never cease to amaze me, Susan! I just LOVE this card. I have a few people sick in my family right now (mom and grandma) and I think I am going to make them each a card like this today!! I have been too busy to stamp this past week and today I have a little break so I’m excited to get back into my craft room!! Crafting is so relaxing and cathartic for me so I do it whenever possible. I have often told my husband I think I should have skipped college (I have my Doctorate in Pharmacy) and been a crafter instead 🙂 As always, thanks for the inspiration!! Congrats to John, too, for another hard year of work!
Yay for John !! Whew….
Love this cute card and the colors are just great !! The Pansy Punch is a fun punch and I use it a lot w/o the stamps . I just got the Fun Flower Punch and it is fun to play with also .
Last ,but not least thank you for all the helpful info that you offer daily ! You make it fun to visit !
I love this card and the color combination is so nice. I think I will try to make my own card inspired by yours. Thanks for all the inspiration, Kay V
First congrats to the winners! I hope we get to see the challenge cards.
Love this card as I did before. The colors are springy and fun. I am not fond of some of the DP papers and this would be a great way to use them up by matching up some of the colors for the flowers. So smart! I just noticed that you used the gel pen on the circles for the center of the flowers. Cute little spark to break up the color – at least I don’t remember the dashes/dots on mine!
Ladies- teacher tip! You can take sharpie off anything with Acetone Nail Polish remover. It must be the acetone kind though! 😉
This is adorable! I will have to give this a try.
You make me smile! I sure hope that you were able to find some good old fashion “me time” and play with paper!
I just never get tired of this card…one to always have to remind you to make more when you are stuck with a DSP that you are not crazy about….
I totally agree…the Fun Flower is just that – FUN!!! Trust me, John will be so happy to be home tonight and not have to worry about the stress of the past several months….
Please do…it’s a keeper!
YES…I did use the gel pen and I totally forgot to blog about that – great catch Chris! I thought it added the perfect flair – totally agree about the dsp!
Thanks for the tip…I just laugh at them everytime I see them as I say – do I use the red…or the black – I finally wrote a note and tucked it into the case!!!
You love the end result – go have FUN!
