Good Morning…confession – I am glad that yesterday is behind as I felt like saying "Calgon, take me away"! True it was super exciting to the retiring list but Stampin' Up! was sooooooo flooded that the site crashed a couple of times and I am sorry that it was frustrating for many of you!
I too had a problem trying to place an order and still have not placed it and I see that many items are already gone…I told you – we are funny, funny stampers – when we hear of a sale or know that items are going away – WE ACT!
I have tried to answer many emails of concern and the simple question of why did they retire this…why did they retire that? The answer is, I simply do not know but one thing I do know is that Stampin' Up! did it for a reason, and I am sure that we will all be super-de-duper happy with the new goodies that are coming soon.
Stampin' Up! has never let us down and I know that this new upcoming catalog is going to be super special! I am sooooo darn excited and I know that we will be doing the "happy dance" and also I know that I am going to be SUPER SUSAN CHARGED to show, teach and inspire you with new clean and classic ideas!
Here are some tips for you today….
- Be patient…
- Be persistent…
- Have fun!
If you are like me…do you remember looking and looking for that one special toy that your child wanted for Christmas and you looked and looked for it….or better yet…you stood in line….surfed the Internet, made endless phone calls seeing if a new shipment came in…..sound familiar?!?! I say, "Wow – these were the days" and I miss those days as now that my peeps are adults, this does not happen anymore!
Today there are new items added to the clearance rack, and please do not forget the weekly deals – (they are KEEPERS this week)
We have all sort of options and I thank you for your patience and sheer determination to get through the site! Remember, you will earn DOUBLE PAW PRINTS from me today!
I have to say, yesterday I received an email from a dear customer saying that she was having a tough time getting through …and being the person she is….she said, I will get a cup of tea and wait….my answer was, I am going to take the truck and trailer and go get hay!
She won…I lost… as I was waiting for the hay to be loaded into my trailer, I checked my phone for emails…and she was able to place an order! (I told you she was great!)
I know that today I was to announce the winner for the Monday Challenge….but to be totally honest, I was overwhelmed…as the saying goes – tomorrow is a new day and I am "super" proud of the entries….so proud that I am going to showcase them on Friday!
I realized that I need to do more masculine cards…and I will! Hang in there, many thanks to those that succeeded to get through…I thank you and I say a big thanks and WOOT-WOOT!

As hard as it can sometimes be to wait out a computer, it will pay off in the end of you do. I turned on some music, had my coffee next to me, and played the patience game. I was determined to place my order! After getting “kicked out” a couple times I was finally able to place my completed order and (Yay!) got everything I wanted.
I, too, played the patience game and decided to do some work at my desk (my boss looking in at me helped with that decision) occasionally checking the computer for an update which was eventually a success!
Oh Susan, I love how you represented the frustration all of you fine people were enduring yesterday, those images like the “Calgon, take me away…..” and the computer on fire truly shows how stressful all of you must have been but, thank goodness it’s over!!!
There is no need for anyone to get angry, you just have to be patient.
Thank you for the blast from the past with the Calgon commercial, oh my goodness, do I remember how sweet those bath salts smelled!!
An advantage to being in a really different time zone is that fewer people are on when I want to get online. I wasn’t going to buy anything, but I did! The one thing I wanted most was already gone this morning, the clear mount cling foam. I did score a few deals from the clearance rack, though! The Cut and Ready card bases on the clearance rack (Lost Lagoon and Cherry Cobbler), and the Early Espresso ones on the retiring list all make the paper cheaper, pre-cut and pre-scored, than getting it by the pack. I got a few of each of those three! And, I am really going to need to learn to use ribbons. I kind of want a little crazy with the ribbons. Of course, some were already gone…
I, too, think your picture with the computer on fire is humorous! I remember those Calgon commercials, too. Here, Calgon, or the store brand of it, is essential in the washing machine because there is a LOT of calcium in our water. It will totally ruin the washing machine if you don’t put Calgon in every load. Thus the name: Cal(cium) Gon(e).
Cyberhugs!
Silly me thought the list wasn’t going to be out until midnight and imagine my surprise with all the E-mails with the list. So, I was not even prepared. I predicted several if not a lot were retiring but then some I was surprised at. I guess we all have our own tastes though I wonder about some!
My husband shared with me last night that he was able to scan my card to you and showed me how large he made it! I had to laugh because now he wants me to make him one like it. Plus, he wants the envelope lined or the outside with the Hawkeye paper too. I told him I needed more of the special Iowa Hawkeye paper and where I had bought it. He informed me we would be going shopping to get some more! That had to be a first – my husband wanting to go to a scrapbook store!
I did give the card back to Krazy who called me from the bar where they were still celebrating his birthday. He said his buddies all want one too that it was way cool even with a little beer stain on it. I swear all my cards seem to have a story to them!
