Happy Thursday….well – did you have fun at the PALS blog hop yesterday….whew – there were a bunch of hoppers and a bunch of inspiration. I am always so amazed at the ideas, talent and inspiration out there!
Today is a color challenge for the Pals Paper Art…here is the palette that we are working with this week. I encourage you to play and also pop over to the website to see what the design team came up with.
The stamp set of the the day is Summer Silhouette and I am super happy that it is carried over for us to enjoy next year! Look at the images below and then let you mind wander to the possibilities that is will bring to your card making!
The sentiment I used today came from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set, this too will be with us for another year and I highly suggest that this is at your home as it is filled with fabulous sentiments and great fonts!
Let's get to it as it is a fun and crisp card filled with the bold colors of the palette! I must admit, I have not used these colors for a while but the boldness and brightness makes it a fun card.
- Here we go with an A-2 card in the vertical position in the Tempting Turquoise. The white mat for both the inside and outside of the card is just 1/4" smaller, 5 1/4" X 4"
- Below you will see that I did a trip of stamping in Pear Pizazz ….this is a great anchor for so many different layouts for you to have fun with!
- Have fun and stamp with the flowers that are in the stamp set…but it is super fun to use a punch for a different texture…the best of both worlds – stamps and paper = a happy stamper!
- Below you will see a close up of the all of the textures…do not be afraid to mix things up!
- Confession time – I could not get a straight cut and became quickly frustrated so I did a super fast…super fun….wiggle cut all around the sentiment…this is a trick that I always did when I scrap booked when I wanted to cover a mistake…presto – a fun and different twist!
- Confession time again! (I am always honest with you) I (somehow) had a speck of melon mambo on the front of the card…so out came the daffodil delight cotton ribbon! BINGO – a quick cover up! I adore this ribbon as it is super easy to work with and I adore the colors it comes in (I will be having it in my ribbon share)
- Lastly the envelop fun…this is a DSP from the Sweet Taffy DSP…the perfect finale for a simple and bright card!
Thanks for your time today! I unfortunately need to go to a funeral today for an amazing women that has watched me grow up….has been a friend to my children while they were at school…and a true blue person that has touched soooo many lives…she is "Mrs. Barr" and has worked at the school where my children went for 63 years….THAT IS AMAZING!
It is a bittersweet time and yesterday it was wonderful seeing so many people that I have not seen in ages…life is a big circle…we all need to enjoy and embrace it.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions but I do hope that you will pop back tomorrow as I will share with you the card that I am sending to anyone that purchases from my website….Until tomorrow!
Gorgeous card – love the bright colors and for being “bow challenged” you certainly made this one a true winner!! Sorry to hear of your loss; sounds like she was an amazing woman! Hugs and blessings.
Beautiful card, so cheery and bright, lovely way to use the Pals Paper Arts color challenge.
Oh, I know how it feels to have a card all done and then, you smudge it or the marker falls off your hands and lands smack in the middle of it…..you just sit there and stare at that ugly stain, been there, done that. Sometimes this is easily fixable, like in your card, but other times it’s ruined and there is nothing to do but start over.
Very sorry to hear about your dear friend, sending thoughts and prayers your way.
Maria.
Beautiful Spring card….love the vibrant colors and you turned your “boo-boos” into “wowzers!” So sorry for your loss….she sounded like a wonderful, dedicated woman. Hugs to you and your family.
So bright and cheery! I had to laugh at you boo boo fix – I thought that jaunty strip of ribbon and perfect bow just totally wrapped up the package! Just the perfect touch! Love your cutting of the sentiment – sort of looks like a puffy cloud! The texture with the added flowers is a treat too. Love it! Just the right amount of green to compliment the other colors! This set has been on my wish list and was so glad it was carried over so I could get a couple sets that are retiring. Believe me, this beauty will be added to the CASE file!
Sounds like Mrs. Barr has had an amazing life. Speaking of funerals I need to get ready for a doctor’s appt and before that stop by my demo’s house to pick up my order with Love and Sympathy set in it. I am CASEing your card from last month for my best friend. Her husband died and his funeral is tomorrow. So, I better not make too many boo boos as time is of the essence since the funeral is in my home town.
Love it!
First, my deepest sympathy on losing your friend. She sounds like an amazing women who dedicated her life to the most important ones in the world…our children. Next, I have to tell you Caleb’s thought on your card today. He said, “It’s so bright I think I need to get my sunglasses!” Cute. I love the bright colors in your card today. Honestly, my first thought was how clever you were to think of putting a ribbon in that location–it looks cool there! I laughed when I read why you did it. I love your honesty! TFS.
Happy and bright a card sure to bring a smile. Love your honesty and nice recoveries. Sorry for your loss.
Love, love, love this card! Thanks for sharing the leaves formula. I will definitely use it in the future.
nicely done. bright and cheery!
Thanks Deb…I should have said in my blog post that I tied the bow separately and then used a glue dot to adhere!
That one way to get a great bow without the stress!
I am sure that we have all been there with good old smudges…that is where little punches & ribbon hide boo-boos!
Fun colors to work with! She truly was an amazing person and it has been wonderful to reconnect with so many friends from the past – she will be missed, a very, very FUN person!
Hello my friend…try the sentiment this way….just let your scissors go wild and cut away and have fun!
Sorry to hear of your loss…that is the best stamp set, so glad you bought it, it’s a keeper – like YOU!
Smiling!
You give that dear Caleb a BIG hug from me and I bet he is soooo cute without his front teeth and sunglasses on!
You know my friend, we all have these hiccups and we need to figure out how to make lemonade! Have a great weekend.
Please case away! Have fun!
It certainly was a fun palette to work with, thanks for popping by!
