One thing I love is a single stamp! I am super happy that this fun stamp is being carried over into the new catalog. It is a “feel-good…instant smile stamp” The other thing that I like about the particular stamp is that you can use several different techniques when using it.
The stamp is appropriately called Kind Koloa and he is just too darn cute. Today I am showing you the easiest way to used it…a simple color with the Aqua Painter. (I must apologize that I took the picture too soon as the water-coloring did not get time to dry and it looks a bit splotchy) but guess what – IT IS HANDMADE!
This would also be a great stamp to practice paper piecing…or you could heat emboss it as well. Sometimes I think that we get "stuck" on just stampin'…and forget about other options…I will use this stamp in another way like I mentioned to show you the possibilities.
It has been ages…AGES – since I have used Crumb Cake and please do not forget that the crump cake comes in the note card size, this is what I used today!
Today I also used the water color paper and the Aqua Painters! They are so much fun to play with and I suggest that you throw away all expectations that you have one yourself and just GO FOR IT! I am not 100% happy with my coloring but…what the heck – I did it and it made me smile!
I touched on this yesterday and I am going to do so again today! In the new catalog there is a SUPER DUPER new punch that is a must have….true we could do it the good old fashion way but having a punch that will cut a banner in 3 different widths – its a total WOOT-WOOT….a true time saver!
The one punch will allow you to make a banner in 1", 1 1/2" or 2" – in any length that you need for your projects – a quick press and PRESTO a perfect banner!
This little guy is just adorable and you could also "mask off" the sentiment and change it up -hmmm….maybe I should do this for you!
I did a bunch of driving this weekend but it was well worth it – a fun weekend but I must admit, when I drive I start to think of card layouts….so let's hope that my mind will talk to my hands and provide you with some great projects!
Thanks for popping in and let's all have a great week! Please pop back tomorrow to see the NEW offerings of the weekly deals!
I don’t have this stamp, but every time I see it on a card it puts a smile on my face. I adore your water coloring, Susan! Such a sweet way to let someone know that he/she is on your mind and in your thoughts today!
What an adorable card! Colors compliment each other nicely and the dots around the banner complete it perfectly. I like the coloring you did….it makes the koala look very naural and your shading is spot on!
Super, duper adorable!! I’m intimidated by the Aqua Painters so I typically use the blender pens whenever I want to color. I might have to give the aqua painter another try but am not in a huge hurry. I’m glad you had a fun weekend with Hannah and her friends! Have a great day.
Very cute! I never ordered this little friend so now I can put him back on my list as this is just too cute for words! I love the banner – I want to say it is perfect on there. Goes perfectly with the little flower. Quick question – is there any special thoughts on what size of banner to use both in width and length? I shy away from them as I think mine are either too long or too wide or just not in the right place at the right time. I know goofy! On here it just looks perfect!
That little k bear simply makes you smile…..can’t help it. Showing us your ‘mask off’ technique would be awesome!
I love this stamp too, Susan, and you used it in such a cute way. I must get out the watercolor supplies and try it again!
Thanks for sharing your cute card. Doing a “stepped-up” version with masking is a great idea!
Happy to hear your weekend was great fun. Some of us are missing your Monday Challenge (hint, hint).
Have a great week!
This is one of my favorite single stamps. I wish they made the sentiment separate or easy to separate, because I love this little guy so much and would like to use him with other sentiments as well. I hate masking! But I do love your card 🙂
Thanks for the comment, it is a cute stamp and the other thing that I love about the single stamps are…they are super affordable!
You know me and my dots! A quick and fun touch – thanks for the comment!
This is so funny…I forget about the blender pens….how about if you try the aqua painter and I will give the blender pens a try….DEAL????
Hi Chris…I usually look at the size of the card/project and then try to make the banner a compliment to the card. Remember, you want it to “accent it” not overwhelm it…just play around to find the “right fit”
You of all people will ROCK THIS! Please try….and then share!
The koala stamp is so cute! You have used it magnificently! I’m glad it is carrying over. Maybe I’ll actually get it this year!
Cyberhugs!
Hint-HInt….I hear you – you make me smile…Next Monday is YOURS!
I agree, this is hard to mask off but it is doable…this little guy is just the cutest and I am thrilled that they are keeping it – I adore single stamps!
I would….single stamps that have everything (a cute image and a great sentiment) make it a win=win!
