You all know that my "peeps" are my "Pride & Joys"…well after a very long journey with lots of tough decisions etc….our middle peep, James is coming back to our home area and has accepted a job!
After college he has worked in sales and it just simply was not the right fit for him. He is a super sweet young man…almost 25 and has soooo many gifts. Knowing that he was not happy with his career we encourage him to figure out what would make him happy…and after lots of soul searching he knew that he needed to be "hands on" making a difference.
He has accepted a job at a Boarding School as the assistant Development Director and he is thrilled to be able to put his creativity and "people" skills to great use! He will also be helping with coaching and there is no doubt that his positiveness with kids will be a win-win!
I love this quote…and I knew you would as well!
The timing for this is perfect and when we found out that I was having surgery we knew that this would be a huge help all around…James adores being outside and mowing fields is relaxing to him (p.s. – John is THRILLED) as the work here is endless….and you know what this means….WE WILL BE GAINING ANOTHER DOG….LEO! (what the heck…we have 5 – what's 1 more)
When the new catalog came out…I knew that this stamp set, You're Sublime, would be coming to Randall Lane. I think it is fun…it can go either way – for young or old….and when I saw this over the weekend, I knew that this would be a perfect card to have on James' pillow when he make the long trek home.
Here is a larger picture of the stamp set…I bet you can think of many different card and project ideas for these great stamps! Today I used the Aqua Painters and I just squeeze the ink pads to get a puddle of ink on the lid.
I probably snapped the pictures to soon as it wasn't quite dry…I am no expert (as you can see) but it is soooo much fun to use the Aqua Painters…just have fun…but I do recommend using Watercolor Paper when using this Aqua Painters.
We all know that "following your heart" is a hard thing to do at times…but I am super proud of James knowing in his heart that he needed to make a change. I bet he will "get it" why I put the thick bakers twine to the left with the knots…..do you get it? (think about it and at the end I will share with you why)
Quick…simple…fun….DONE! My kind of card. I wish I was mobile to have fresh cookies for him but he will totally understand and he will be a huge help to me. He does not start until July 1st so he has a week to take a deep breath!
I thought that you all would get a kick out of this picture below…I move out to the family room part of the day and here are my friends that are by my side all the time (sorry, the sofa looks a bit bleak without the pillows fluffed etc…but here are my friends…(dear Eddie…he's hanging in there….with his ball right at his side)
I love my little fur babies and Leo fits in like he has lived here his whole life! He comes complete with a HUGE bag of toys so that makes Eddie super happy and puts a special spring in his step.
There is only 1 week left to take advantage of the June special…please feel free to reach out to me to learn more. I would love to help you see that this really is a great opportunity for you – who does not like a sale.
Have a fabulous day…and did you figure it out about the knots on the bakers twine? I wanted it to resemble a rope with knots that you would "climb up"….James is an Eagle Scout and I bet when I ask him….why do you think I did that?….I bet he'll get it! He is climbing a ladder in life and I am super proud of him.
Until tomorrow….

Love the picture of your “fur babies”! I always admire your cards, but enjoy even more your stories and the life you share with us. Best wishes to James in his new career.
Oh Susan, how nice to have your peep closer. Even better for James to embrace change. Your card is very supportive. Your coloring is fantastic. Enjoy this time of change with the family. Love the picture of the fur babies too. Hope today is a good one.
🙂
P.S. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the climbing rope!!!
What a significant card for your son, James! Clean, simple and full of L♥ve! How perfect for him to come back home and right when you & John need him most. Your dogs must be very obedient, Susan, because they appear to be posing for the photo! So cute! And what a great way to stamp with them right by your side~
Congrats to James on his new journey and coming home to a house full of love! Change may be hard at first but it opens our eyes to so many possibilities. Your quote is awesome! Your card is perfect along with the ladder of life and I am sure James will treasure it. Fur babies look totally adorable on the couch and I can see they are taking good care of you with their “cuddleness!”
Glad you are on the mend and what a lucky gal to have all of those friends to keep you company during the day. So happy that James will be around to help and provide love and support, not to mention lots of help with the farm. You are indeed a very lucky lady. The card (and the knotted string) are absolutely precious and truly make a statement. I am sure that James will “get it” and love it! Continue to take good care of yourself and wishing you a heartfelt and speedy recovery, sweet girl!
That quote is so very true, if you are stuck and going nowhere, is imperative to make a move, it takes courage but in the end, you will be rewarded with the knowledge that you are doing what you love. I love the meaning behind that knotted rope, what a special card for your middle “peep”.
I’m so happy you are recovering fast Susan, here go more healing~~~~~~~~~~~~~for you.
Hugs.
PS.Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog, I’m glad you liked the Mallard card.
Love your card. I have that set on my list. Glad you have a peep moving closer! 🙂 Good luck to him at the school and with the coaching. Been thinking of you, Susan, and hope your healing and recovery is good as new this time.
You have the best SU blog out there ! I so enjoy reading what you have to say about everything ! I came looking for cards and have gotten SO much more. Thank you for sharing your everyday life with all of us – and of course – your awesome cards ! Glad you are on the mend !
It is all about the love, the stories with the cards, the fur babies photos, the peeps and well, just YOU! I bet sweet Norman is by your chair! I immediately looked for a ball for Eddie. So sweet that Leo will share his toys with Eddie. Wasn’t Leo the rescued Shar Pei? So glad John will have some help with the chores too. Sounds like James will have a great new adventure. So, glad you are healing day by day!
The card is so wonderful for James. The stamp was made for this purpose! I am still trying to grab the rope! When I was in school, I was the littlest and even with standing on a chair – I could not reach the rope! I am sure I couldn’t have climbed it anyway! No wonder I am always in a rut! Just kidding!
Great post today. Good news, fun “family photo”, and great card. Keep getting better!
Even on pain medication you rock!! I have looked at this stamp set so many times in the past couple weeks, now I have to have it. Totally adorable card. How nice to have one of your own back close to home.
James will love his card! And I have no doubt he will “get it”. You are just the best!!! James has perfect timing for making a change. 🙂
I love your quote but I always thought the 3 c’s were Create Cards & Crafts. LOL
I love the card, Susan. I want that set, too but don’t have it yet. I thought the rope may have been James’ stomach all tied in knots until he made this decision. But the climbing up another rung on the ladder is much better. Your son will be a blessing for all of you and the change will undoubtly be a blessing for him! Keep healing!
I love my little “Jacks”…I know that people think we are nuts to have Jack Russell’s but I just adore their loyalty!
We are excited…and very happy for him. Sooo glad you enjoyed the cards – I think that this stamps set is fun!
I totally LAUGHED when I read your comment…if you would see these guys when the UPS man comes….YIKES – I feel so bad for him that I give him boxes of treats as he is so sweet to them.
I actually have had Charlie leave twice with him as he is so lazy that he curls up in the back of the UPS truck while he is unloading….
You’re right…change is hard but making the step of knowing that you need to make a change is the 1st step…thanks for your sweet words!
Awe….you made me smile – what a wonderful comment, thanks! Ill let you all know ow he liked it….I bet he will “get it”
It happens so many times in life that we get stuck and are afraid to make a change…I know that I have been there – so glad you enjoyed the quote – I love motivational quotes…they seem to give me a quick “fill up”
How could I not comment on that card….your coloring is OVER THE TOP!!!Hugs my friend!
So glad to hear that someone else likes this stamp set – I think that it is super fun. I am doing well…listening to my limitations….it’s hard to keep a Duracell rabbit down but these naps are really great!
WOW – what a wonderful comment. I feel honored. I truly love what I do, true it takes a lot of time but it is time sooooo well spend as it is therapy – reaching out and getting to know so many “cyber friends and customers” a true joy!
You did it again, I am smiling! I can remember those darn ropes in school and always dreaded having to do the climb!
Leo is a newbie….not sure of what he is but right now – ALL LEGS! We call him “Mr. Stilts” – he is a sweetie….and Norman likes him so that is a HUGE PLUS!
I truly wish that I could get a family picture with everyone…the horses, donkey, Daisey-mae, dogs….and oh yes – the kids and John too!
You are a sweetie….I love your 3 C’s…ready to bring lunch over….we have some yacking to do!
Sometimes I have a hard time with embellishing a masculine card…I am so glad that we have the Thick Bakers Twine and it just happened…Thanks for your comment and yes, it is a blessing that he is back!
Dear Susan, what a great card. My son is an Eagle Scout as well. Your Son is a very wise young man. I know that you and your whole family are very proud of him. The knots on the card are so perfect with your explanations. It will be so wonderful to have your son home. Please tell him we all are so proud of him. I know this next chapter of his life will be wonderful. He is able to write this next chapter. Your picture of your fur babies are all so sweet. Please take care of yourself. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
How fun that one is coming home for all the right reasons and at the right time for all of you. The card is fun too and I love the knotted rope, even though I didn’t make the connection at first. Fur babies are so cute! thnks for sharing!
Love love the entire post today. The card is adorable along with the photo of the dogs and a peep moving home is indescribable to put into words! My youngest moved back last year at 25 also. I can say that I have never seen her happier here and her fantastic art job! Hope you are feeling great and best of luck to the peep!
