Good Morning and today is an interesting day for me to say the least. There are 2 things that you need to know before we get to the card today (plus I spilled a water bottle on this card before I photographed it….darn – that never happens!)
#1 – The winner of Monday’s challenge…. is….(drum roll…drum roll….) MARY ANN H – and here is her card! I think that I must have scared many of you away this week as I did not have as many people summit cards but then again it’s summer and everyone’s schedules are crazy!!!
I will be sending her the banner punch and I hope that she will create many masterpieces of work from her heart…(I know she will as she ADORES paper-crafting) This is just one adorable card and it has totally made me smile!
#2 – Do you remember in January I broke my ankle?…well about 10 days ago I went to a specialist as I am still having some issues and the long story is….I need to have surgery and as you are reading this….I am probably in “la-la land” having my ankle re-broken.
I will be fine and truthfully this whole thing happened so fast that I just want to get it over with and I apologize if I have not been on the computer a t0n over the past week but I have been trying to make sure that I have all of my bases covered for when I get home and go thru the recovery!
ENOUGH – think about me …but lets get to this fun card!
Yesterday I share with you the dimensions for the card that I did on Saturday but I had several emails about the scoop on doing the “mosaic” style card that I stepped it up with on Sunday!
So here you go my friends…and can you see that I am using BOTH of the punches that are on the weekly deals this week…. seriously, you just cannot go wrong with our punches!
- The base of this card is a Whisper White Notecard and Envelope
- The Bermuda Bay is a piece that is 4 ½” X 2 ½” – Why did I pick this size???? Easy = I like to make it easy on myself with cutting out the 1” squares.
- You can see in the “strolling store” below the colors and papers I used but did you notice I used the decorative dots embossing folder on the Hello Honey Squares and also the heart in Watermelon Wonder?
- Using the “green glue”, I placed the squares where I wanted them and because I thought there was too much space…out came the white pen and you see…I do other things than dots & dashes…it’s a “squiggle and dot” day!
- This super sweet sentiment is from the All Boxed Up stamp set…it is paired up to go with the All Boxed Up Kit (page 152) but I can clearly see this stamp set to go with many other cards…like this one today! ( I think these sentiments are super cute!)
- A simple bow with the Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine is all that was needed…clean, fresh, fun and DONE!
Well not so fast…we have the envelope fun to do and boy is this a festive envelope.
- I stamped the front and then I went on a "search and rescue" for a small stamp and there it was – the "perfect heart" from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set…a couple of fun stamps made it fun!
- Let's look at the back flap…I continued the theme on the back flap!….
Now we are DONE! Well….thoughts???Don't you think it is fun! I am loving all of the new papers we have- they are one right after the other…SUPER STELLAR!
Think of me today…I will be just fine…the way I told John about this is….when you have a baby the first time…you do not know what to expect…but the second time you're prepared.
I have been through this and now I am prepared….my stampin' stuff is downstairs and I have this HUGE list of wishes in my head to work on!
Until tomorrow…it a challenge day!

I’ve already been praying for you and your surgery. Prepared or not, it is still not fun! (I’m glad your doctors speak English.)
Your card is so fun! I am not a fan of Watermelon Wonder all by itself, but it is super when it gets together with friends to play! And, my cards for one of the swaps has some aspects of this design in it. You have given me a couple of ideas to work with to improve it! Thanks!!!
I hope you recover as quickly as you expect to. Getting over the anesthesia is as much an issue as pain-management and mobility issues at first. Wish I was there to lend a hand.
Cyberhugs!
To be followed by real ones in a few weeks! (Yay!)
I am so glad you liked my card and it made you smile, Smiles and laughter are the best! I love your card, the fun colors and the way you pulled everything together with a simple heart and squiggles! So sorry to hear about your ankle. I hope your recovery is fast and without any “hiccups!” I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Cyber hugs!
Love quilt cards and this card is just lovely. I honestly can’t see a water spill on it Susan, so no worries.
I’m hoping your surgery goes well so you can again, get back to normal in no time at all.
Hugs.
Maria.
Poor you, but at least this time you could prepare a little for the recovery phase, that is bring your stamping stuff downstairs.. Get well soon. M…..xxx
PS I love Mary Ann’s card. It is just gorgeous.
I am up early just so I could say a little prayer for you as you go in to surgery. Sending good thoughts your way. I am here to help in any way. Love your cheery card!
I was thinking you were up early, for going to bed so late. I read my emails backwards and had to figure out your timing, as I slept in a little later today.
Good Luck with your surgery today. I’m praying for your quick recovery. You know what is so weird . . . I was thinking of you when I got up . . . “I’ll have to ask her how her ankle is. I have’s read anything about it in a while.”
This card is great. Again, one of my favorites styles.
I got my ribbon yesterday and it is beautiful. Thanks.
Take care of yourself! Be kind.
🙂
P.S. Mary Ann’s bee card is adorable. Love it!

Mary Ann’s card is so cute.
Bless your heart, Susan! It is such a pain to have to go through this again but you have a great attitude and good expectations. Isn’t it nice that we can make cards even when we can’t do other things? It is such therapy for me and helps my outlook to still be able to enjoy stamping and creating when I am healing or going through a difficult time. Your friends and fans support you in your healing!
Sorry to hear you have to have surgery on your ankle Susan. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
What a cute clean &simple “Hello” card, Mary Ann! I Love it!
Susan, I’m praying for you to have a speedy recovery. I know this will not be an easy situation, but the doctors know what’s best.
Such a cute bright fun card today! Adding the embossing and the heart with twine are those extras that make a card special!
Sending Happy Thoughts your way today~
Praying for a speedy recovery.
Mary Ann your card is so cute and creative! The envelope is very cute too. I was thinking of a Christmas card but didn’t get it done.
Susan, of course, I love your card with all the cheery pretty colors. That envelope is over the top!
Hugs, kisses, and well wishes for a healthy outcome and speedy recovery! You and Oscar are going to have to go to rehab together! I can’t imagine how they rebreak a bone and I don’t think I want to know! Wishing you, John, and the “kids” well! Eddie and Norman can rest up with you.
Keeping you in my prayers today…. I went down the same road with a broken wrist
I am so sorry to hear you have to go through surgery and recovery again. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!
Oh my goodness, Susan — are you thinking, “I don’t have time for this!” My thoughts and prayers go out to you for today and for an easy recovery! Now, I love Mary Ann’s little bee card — so simple and cute. If she is reading this, I’m waiting for that stamp set and want to make this card! Next, I also love your Happy Thoughts card. The colors in that paper are so bright and cheerful. Fun stuff! Get better quick! Rest and let yourself heal! (That’s the Mom coming out in me!) 🙂

I’m really liking Mary Ann’s card. So sweet and simple. Well done!
I like your card today too! Very bright and fresh. Recuperating can be a chore, but you have great support in your family and friends (four and two-legged) so lean into them and let them help you heal.
I am so very sorry to hear your ankle is not healed well. The pain is awful. I hope all went well today for surgery. You will be missed over the next few days!!! Congrats to Mary Ann also. The card was adorable.

Sorry you have to go through this again. You have a great attitude. That will help you in your healing.
You are crazy… you just keep on trucking. Did you at least take a moment out for a pity party? You deserve it! Fun card and I like all the squares but that they don’t take up the whole card. Great job!
Great Card Mary Ann – I love the little bee!
So sorry to hear you are having to go thru this again. Praying you heal quickly and correctly this time around. As always, I love your ‘happy’ card.
Loving the bright colors on this card and the quilted look. Always fun to work with!
Wishing you well on your recovery and to be as pain free as possible!
Lovely card Susan so, Bright & Cheery…reminds me of all the handmade quilts I’ve been given through the years.(Psst… I can’t tell it got a little Spritz with water)
