Hello all….wow – I've missed you!!!! So much to talk about…so much to share, but 1st – I want you to know that I feel like I have "turned the tide" with my pain….and I am doing great! YES, I am taking it super easy but I really, really am starting to feel like myself.
I do admit…these (2) naps a day are also great – babies do it and it makes them happier to be around…so heck – I should do this too…I am lovin' this napping thing (especially with my fur babies)
I swear things "just happen to us" – Saturday evening we had a huge storm and I was in bed and all of a sudden I hear this HUGE CRACK OF LIGHTENING…and then a POP…..John came flying back to see if I was ok and said - "Did you hear that"?
Naturally all of the obvious looked ok but we did loose our phone, tv and Internet. It came back on late yesterday so sorry for no post on Sunday. We did lose the air-conditioning upstairs and the lightening hit our flag pole…(yes, John is such a Boy Scout at heart and we have a Flag Pole) – we are very lucky, it could have been a lot worse.
I felt bad for John…it was Fathers Day and I know what he would have LOVED to have done would be to sit and watch golf on TV….instead – he worked his tail off outside and was soooo hot….We are just thankful that there was not severe damage and that we are back up with technology!
Let's get to this cute card…but I need to share with you a "sneak secret"…..I asked my downline if any would help me out with a posting etc…and you have heard me talk about Jeanie a bunch, a dear friend and also downline…well – she sent me a BUNCH OF GOODIES…and I am super excited to be able to pull it together as a posting….you'll LOVE IT!
This is my kind of card and one that I hope you CASE away until you are tired of butterflies! You can use this for anything…just because, birthday, anniversary, sympathy…yada – yada….
I would highly recommend that you purchase this as a bundle…WHY??? Simple – you'll save 15% and you will adore the framelits….I'll blog on this another day.
You know why I adore this stamp bundle…well for starters, the "triple stamping" is sooo much fun…(You will really feel like a Picasso adding a stamp over a stamp…creating depth and fun color) and the sentiments in this stamp set are wonderful…and THERE ARE DOTS…YIPPEE-SKIPEE….I love my dots!
- The base is a notecard (5" X 3 1/2") and then I made a mat a smidge smaller
- Having FUN with the dots in Daffodil Delight, I stamped it off first to make it a bit lighter across the top and bottom
- The butterfly recipe….
Have LOTS of fun playing with different color combinations. I will be sharing more posts using this stamp set but I was happy with the outcome today…
- The sentiment that I used today was from one of my all time favorite sentiment set, A Dozen Thoughts. This is a "must have" and I adore the font today.
- To finish the envelope…out came the NEW Brights DSP Stack…polka dot fun – these paper stacks are sooo darn tootin' hot….just love them as they come in handy when you do not have the "perfect" dsp to finish off your card.
I hope that you are "fluttering with happiness" with this card! Where did this idea come from??? Simple, when you are a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator you are sent a bi-monthly magazine filled with great articles, super projects…a great celebration of lovin' what we do by being a demonstrator.
With the amazing opportunity to become a hobby demonsrator coming to a close…(only until June 30th) I ask you WHY NOT? Please feel free to email me….I would love to reassure you that…
- you will not have to teach a class…
- you will not have to have a worshop….
- you will not have to have a blog – HECK – if you do not want to tell a soul, your secret is safe with me…
You'll get 2 FREE stamp sets (your choice) BEFORE you pick you products for your kit! A total win-win!
You know what today is…..TUESDAY DEALS – please click here to see what is being offered this week. My picks – The embossing folders…they always add a quick and special "pick me up" with any project!

What a gorgeous card; I love everything about it. So glad you’ve turned a corner and are beginning to feel better.
Well, the best part is you are feeling better. I am so happy you are listening to your body. This card is very pretty and love your color combos.
Have a peaceful day.
🙂
Beautiful butterfly card, Susan! So simple and still elegant! That set reminds me of the Lotus Blossom set. We had that bad storm Saturday night too, but our power only went off for a few seconds. So glad you only lost power and nothing else. Stay safe and so Happy to hear you are healing~
I’m glad you’ve started to turn the corner! Your card made me smile this morning! What a gorgeous color combination. And the clean layout really allows this beautiful butterfly shine!
So happy to hear you are getting better and resting like you should and fur babies make it more enjoyable! The storm is suppose to hit NJ today and hopefully we won’t lose power. Your card is beautiful and I love the dot stamp. The color choices make the butterfly look so natural.
My heart was fluttering wondering if maybe you tripped over a furry kid or something and hurt yourself worse. But, I did think maybe it was your power going down. We were going to a dinner out of town and got caught in a terrific hail storm with lightening etc. But, we made it there safe and sound. Came home and there was 3/4 of a tree down to the house on the left and a humongous branch down at the house on our right. We had lots of sticks and a small dead branch plus flowers blown over or beaten down was all.
So glad you are doing so much better – I guess it has been a whole week.
The card is really pretty and thanks for letting us know how you stamped it and stamped off etc. I am still new at this multi-step stamping. Looking forward to Jeanie’s works of art!
So glad you are on the mend and I hope you see some progress every day. Beautiful card. Butterflies are my favorite. I think this bundle is going to be on my next order. Enjoy your naps.
Really glad to hear you are feeling better! Sorry about the storm problems…..always a pain and always scary to see what damage you might have!!! LOVE, LOVE LOVE this card! Your ‘dots’ make me smile!
Dear Susan, Ehat a beautiful card, I love the simple butterfly’s flying . The plod you chose are so pretty together. I am so glad you or your home did it suffer any damage from the storm. I am so glad you are beginning to feel better.. It is amazing how listening to our bodies helps us to get better. Taking those naps is so important. I love s little small nap in the afternoon. Sometimes my couch calls me for a quick 20 minutes. I feel like a new person after a nap.gsve a great day, hugs, Ellen Hinds
Susan my fast fingers struck again. I meant to say what a beautiful card. The colors you chose are so pretty together. Have a great day. Ellen Hinds
Good to hear you’ve turned a ‘corner’ in your recovery! Love the card today especially the colors together. I don’t think I would have thought of the combination, but it’s lovely! Continue to het better!?
Glad to hear everything is ok and the recovery is going well. Loved today’s card. I’ve been a bit nervous to play with this set and figure out the best way to layer colors so I’m def CASEing. Should help to learn it.
Thanks for the sweet comment…I am not usually a fan of butterflies but I LOVE this stamp set….so fun playing with colors!
Thanks Nancy…you would be proud of me…I am being a GREAT patient…
I agree…it is so much fun (and rewarding) to stamp several times…this weather has been crazy – be safe…thanks for popping in today!
SOOOO happy that you liked the card – it is so fun and you can really step it up very easily!
Hi my friend…I hope that you all were safe with the storm….we missed it – lots of rain (poor Daisy was caught in the middle of it and it takes her a bit to waddle up to the house)….
I am doing the happy dance with the dots stamp! WOOT-WOOT!
It is super scary with the crazy weather all over…be careful when walking that dear fur baby of yours….
I am going to see if Jeanie will come over tomorrow for lunch – she has sent me SOOOOO many pictures – I need her “verbal help” for me to type it up….she is sooo talented and we always have FUN together.
I am glad that you enjoyed seeing the how to’s – This is not a natural method for me – but I will say…it is FUN1
YEAH – glad you liked it…make sure that you use the bundle number to get the discount….I cannot tell you how many times I forget that…..
Naps ARE fun….took 2 yesterday!
YOU make me smile…thanks for the comment. I am thrilled that you liked it.
Thanks Ellen….my Mom used to always say that laying down for 20 minutes in the afternoon made a big difference…I am going to have to adapt that to my routine after my ankle heals…heck – these dogs of mine sleep all the time.
Play…play PLAY with all different ones…I am going to play with blues and purples….with crushed curry…..
Me too…I felt the same way – I thought that it was going to be a huge mess and I would end up frustrated….NOT AT ALL….please try it – you will have a ball….(let me know….just no red ink (ha-ha)
