I have a very special "little friend" and her name is Morgan….she is the little "grasshopper" that rides at the barn. She actually just turned 13 but she is super tiny….if she weighs 80 lbs…that's a good day! Morgan adores my daughter Hannah and she is always so kind to our horses!
I needed to make her a special card and "purple and rhinestones" seemed fitting for a special young lady!
While Hannah has been gone at her internship this summer, Morgan totally pampers and loves Stanley, (our horse). Morgan LIGHTS UP when she has the opportunity to ride him. Her Mom often sends me videos of them riding and I melt when I hear her say, I love you Stanley!!!
When I made this card it was super fast and came together like a "Peanut Butter and Jelly" card….(that's what I say when something is just so easy and natural to me.)
I am up to walking Oscar (our horse we are rehabbing) for 45 minutes…trust me…just walking for 45 minutes gives you plenty of time to think about things and I "planned" out the card in my head so when I came up to the house…it was a quick "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED"
I made her some Banana Bread and wanted a fun card to tuck under the bow (I am going to use the Bermuda Bay Stripe Wide Ribbon) and I know that it will look super fun! Remember….it's all about the total package sometimes….taking a couple extra minutes for details "pulls it all together" and you will be happy and the person that receives it will feel super special!
This is a great stamp set and I am thrilled that it is carried over. It is one of those "sleepers" to me and I have used the vase and flowers before for you on my blog and you all have enjoyed it! It now comes as a bundle…so if you do not already have this punch set, now is the time to buy them together as you will save 15%
You can see that I POPPED up some of the stars and some I just left flat. Doing this adds instant dimension and fun. Did you notice that I quickly stamped the stars in the Gorgeous Grunge splatter…
Here is a great easy tip! You can see that I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay….I took the stamp and stamped the star in Rich Razzleberry on a piece of scraps. I then did a quick "fussy cut" and adhered one down flat and then the other I popped up!
WHY DID I DO THIS???? Well, when you look at it from the side it looks much more finished and clean. I think that seeing the purple flat and then the popped up one shows that you took some extra time for the details…remember – we all love and appreciate the details!!!
I must admit, I am much more a "pearls gal" that a "rhinestone gal" but I think that girls of this age really like the sparkle! Morgan is a sparkle to me and I know that she will love and appreciate this card. I am getting ready to take Stanley to Georgia for Hannah to ride him while she is there at her internship and I know that Morgan is going to miss him.
We appreciate Morgan and her love and kindness she gives to our horses…I know that she misses Hannah as well and is excited for her to come back in August. It is always so special to see a bond and friendship a "grasshopper" has for an older girl…(Hannah thinks is special too)
You know what the weekend is about….a Show and Tell Saturday and then It will Step it Up on Sunday! I am doing the "Happy Dance" as FINALLY…my order is to be here tomorrow! I am super excited to see some "new friends" in person!
I know that you all are busy and I know that there are so many choices of fabulous blogs etc….but THANK YOU for taking the time to pop in….I deeply appreciate YOU and YOUR TIME! Please feel free to email me…until tomorrow!
Below you will see the supplies that I used for today's card….shopping in your jammies is fun and "in style"

A special card for a special little girl and you are sooo thoughtful to do this for such a sweet child. The card is truly ADORABLE and I am sure that Morgan is going to LOVE it!
Hi Susan, I love the colors! I can’t wait to try them myself.
🙂
Special card for a special girl. Will she be able to come and walk Oscar with you while Stanley is gone? I know she can’t ride him, but she’ll probably enjoy helping you. Well, I know she’ll love the banana bread, and save the card forever. Thanks, and big hugs, Jess
Great card Susan! And I always enjoy your animal stories:-). Thank you so much for your detailed instructions! Have a great weekend!!
How thoughtful! I think she will be overjoyed with this card and the banana bread. It took a while to see the potential of this set. Bonus that it coordinates with punches that I already own! While I’ve ventured out and visited other blogs, yours is the one I’ve always remembered and got hooked on because I feel connected to your style of cards and how you do things. Thanks for the daily smile!
Dear Susan, What a great card. Morgan is going to love it. I know she will treasure it forever. Your horses are so lucky to have Morgan to give them extra love. I love your colors. I have a question what stamp set did you use for the stars themselves to stamp? Enjoy your day. I can not wait to see your cards for Saturday and the stepped up version on Sinday. Happy Stamping ,Ellen Hinds
Stellar! Loving the combo of colors. Hope you snap a photo of the banana bread with the ribbon and card! She is going to love this! I have some of those big rhinestones left from something they would look great on the stars in the middle. But, I don’t think I have anybody who rates a star card just yet.
Speaking of bananas, Ted is a little put out with me – he loves a couple bites of banana from my banana I put on my cereal. Well, we have been out of bananas for the last two days and believe me he noticed! I always laugh at him because he chews the little banana pieces so thoroughly it has to be so mushy!
Have a safe trip to Georgia with Stanley.
Morgan should love this card! I know I do. I really like the effect of the Grunge stamp on the stars — clever. Thanks for sharing what goes on in your world of people and animals. You brighten my day! Nancy B
What a special, sparkly card! I’m sure Morgan will love it!
I need to get that stamp set (I also need to find the flower punch from the punch pack). It is on my wish list!
Safe travels to Georgia!
Cyberhugs!
What a terrific card. There is so much to adore about this card from the color combo to the bling and all the details in between. This is sure to make Morgan feel super special! Have a wonderful weekend.
I think your card is a “STAR”. Susan! Beautiful colors and design! Your little grasshopper will miss Stanley, but she will be happy with the card and the bread!
Hi Deb…thanks for the comment, it is soooo darn easy to do something for someone that is so sweet and special!
These are not usually colors that I gravitate to but they are fun…just like YOU!
Figuring out “Who’s on 1st base” is always a revolving door at our house! Stanley is going to Georgia to be with Hannah and Oscar is getting ready to go back to the vets to hopefully get clearance to progress forward….Morgan loves Oscar too!!!
Thank you…thank you….animals are such a HUGE part of my life…and it is a joy to let you all have a sneak peak of them…so glad you enjoyed the card!
No Pam…you make ME smile. Your comments are always so uplifting and this truly is a stamp set that gets overlooked….play around and HAVE FUN!
Hi Ellen…when you leave me a comment, there is always an instant smile on my face. You are so sweet. The stars were from the Stars Framelits and then I used the gorgeous grunge stamp to add some interest!
Framelits are keepers as there as so many different sizes to work with! Enjoy the day my friend!
Oh Chris…I know that YOU HAVE MANY SPARKLES in your life! I simply forget to use them….
That Ted – he is a mess….we have a horse that loves bananas…give him a pat from me!
Morgan is just the BEST – I adore how she looks up to Hannah. It is always so special to see the bond between a younger girl that looks up to an older one. (Hannah loves it too)
I hear you my friend…right now my star from that trio set is MIA….I know that it will show up! I think that we all go through this!
Hurry up and come back to the good old USE!
Thanks Rosanne…I was pleased with the color combo – we all know that there is something about “purple” with little girls!
There were some tears but then there were smiles…he will be back in August…now she can switch gears to Oscar to baby!
