Happy Thursday and you know what today is….it is the day that the Pals Paper Art Challenge starts! This week it is a color challenge (my favorite) and this is a fun palette to play with! How about coming out and playing this week – I would love to see your work of art in the gallery, I know you can…I believe in YOU!
How about these colors…aren't they fun! Now this is MY KINDA CARD….super clean and simple!
Before I get to the fun today I have to share "a funny" with you…I took 4 pieces of paper with me to convention, the 3 colors above and a piece of Very Vanilla. I thought that I would knock out a card while I was at convention…well that never happened.
The stamp set I used today was Something to Say…(whew, that was given to all of us at convention) so I knew I would use that stamp set….when I arrived to Hannah's, the box that John shipped did not arrive but I had send some things back with Hannah (Big Shot, the die & some punches) when she was home for Art's funeral.
I made this card with no trimmer….just a pair of paper snips…. and the pearl was given to us at convention….so this was a "wing it" card with what I had to work with and it turn out just fine! I need to turn my picture of my card in early in the week so I just worked with I had…
This card is a great example of how you take what you have to work with….sit back and see how it can work out and GO FOR IT!
I love this BIGZ die…I have found so many ways to use it and I will say that it has paid for itself time after time! Why do I like it so much??? Well, the flowers for sure but I also like the branch with leaves. You can see to the right of the below picture that the main intention of this is to make flowers….(I have never tried yet)….remember, I am "Simple Susan)!
I hope that this shows you to look out of the box when you look at products…I have used this die many, many times and I find it to be super fun to mix up colors and add a fun POP!
The outer liner was still from the same sheet of paper, I just love this 6" X 6" size and the fact that you get (4) sheets of each print….WOWZERS!
Also, using old faithful, the white gel pen always adds a fun flair. TIP" – Remember to always store it on its side and I always squiggle a circle before I take it to my project for the dashes and dots!
Please do not forget about the 1/2 Paper Pumpkin Deal……you can click here to go to the Paper Pumpkin Site and you can get your 1st 2 month at half off…but I am SUPER excited as they have just added the refills from the Thanks a Latte Refill Kit and YEP – I have already put it on an order, this makes up such a fun card! For just $1.00 a card which is adorable, how can you go wrong?
Remember, you need to be a Paper Pumpkin Customer to be able to purchase past kits and refills….so how can you lose getting the 2 months at half off and if you want some of the past kits (I would definitely get the shaker card one)
Enjoy the day…I am super excited as John is flying down this morning and we will be able to see Hannah do a presentation. It will be a long but fun trek home with Stanley but until we hit the truck and trailer, we are going to enjoy this adorable town!
Until tomorrow my friends!
p.s. – I just scanned over the comments from yesterdays post….HAPPY BIRTHDAY CALEB!!!!!
LOVED THE COMMENTS……Chris – you are a HOOT and I laughed until tears were rolling….I ADORE that 1st one…..You need to go and rent Finding Nemo…..that is his "lucky fin" silly!!!!!
MAKE SURE that you read Mary Ann's comment (aka – MY FAVORITE SHEEP HERDER) – she broke it down…..love you my friend!

OHHHH, your package didn’t arrive, 🙁
I hope it comes today. This card is perfect. I would have never known you didn’t have your usual supplies. I’m going to “lie down” my white gel pen!
Have a wonderful day.
🙂
Hi my friend! It did finally come, it was hung up as Hannah works at the USDA and they were “suspicious” and then Hannah was there when they opened it and it was a good laugh!
Try keeping you pen on its side…always….he is one of the best Stampin’ friends I have, I actually have his brother and sister as if he ran out of steam, I need a spare! HUGS!
You did a fantastic job with limited supplies and the colors are so soft and calming! I love the layout of the card. I cracked up reading Chris’ comments too! She is a hoot! Happy birthday to Caleb as well!
First ….Happy Birthday Caleb ! The Punch cards are too too cute .Did not get a chance to comment yesterday . Love that Snail one …
These colors are soothing ….love `em . This card is a good one for a lot of things ,but especially love the sentiment .
Mike is planning on mowing the back yard after work. I just hope he doesn’t wear the gold shirt with the bibs – I probably would choke trying not to laugh! I hope never to see a Minion character wearing Rayban sunglasses, I know I wouldn’t stop laughing! Also, he has more hair although it has been white/gray for a eons.
I guessed the punches for the dog card for the most part – I might not have had the ears quite right. Speaking of ears, Susan, did I tell you Teddy was going down the steps and tripped on his ears and fell down a few skinning up his lip? It looks like he has a pink tongue hanging out where it is skinned up.
Card, is so soft and pretty. No Thing-a-ma-jig even? Well done! That is one set I know I don’t need so don’t try and change my mind! I gotta save my moola for the holiday catalog!
Hey, what is this about – you and Mary Fish walking across the stage? I miss what is going on with the Pals.
Caleb was SO excited to see you mention his birthday and he said “thanks!” Your post yesterday inspired us to pull out “Finding Nemo” to re-watch it last night. Such a cute movie. And silly me, why was I thinking his fin had gotten hurt at the beginning of the movie?
You would NEVER know that you “winged” it with minimal supplies on your card today. It’s gorgeous! I adore the color combo, and just might have to use it on the card I am making today. It’s my hubby’s (Dan’s) birthday today and I somehow waited until the last minute to make something for him.
I’m sure you’re excited to see John. Enjoy the end of your vacation and safe travels once you leave. Good luck to Hannah on her presentation. And, thanks again for always thinking of Caleb. You and your followers always make him feel extra special. 🙂
Well done with today’s card! Are you from Iowa? Our friend Robyn was originally from there and can make the most from what she has on hand. She credits it to her upbringing in Iowa. Whether she is making a meal, something with fabric, or cards it always turns out well. You seem to have that same trait. Thinking outside the box is the key I’m sure. Safe travels!
I think that card would be lovely for a shower or something of that nature, just change the sentiment. Ok , I must admit that I noticed the Nemo card. I haven’t seen the movie in its entirety and it’s been a long time. I was wondering what was up with the one fin 🙂 LOL
Thanks Mary Ann…I know that I have said this sooooo many time but I SO mean it – I wish that we could all get together and have a fun weekend of stampin’ and chattin’!
Hugs!
Caleb said “thanks” for the birthday wishes! So thoughtful of you!
Nice card and bravo for making do and doing so so well!
I hope Hannah’s presentation goes well. Have a safe return trip! So glad John can come down and help you!
I will talk to you soon!
Cyberhugs!
