Today's challenge is a sketch challenge and this is a super straight forward one that I hope that you will play. Make sure you check out what the other design teams members came up with…..click here to see!
I was doing the happy dance when I saw the below sketch as I knew that this would be a perfect layout for me to make another swap card. Knowing me, I will change up the color combos as we have so many choices and get bored making the same!
This is one of those stamp sets when I saw the new catalog …I knew that it was coming to Randall Lane! I LOVED the water color "thank you" that Stampin' Up! came out with last year and I was thrilled that it was carried over!
If you liked that one…than you will LOVE this one!
Why do I like this stamp set? EASY – it is so fun and easy to work with. Today I am just using a tone on tone…something that always is easy, fast and fun!
The colors of the day are Blushing Bride and Old Olive….I just adore pink and green and the circle diecuts and Big Shot were the stars of the day!
Because it is a photopolymer stamp set….placement is easy peasy….I admit, I do love the ease of these "see through" stamps!
You can clearly see that it does not get any simpler than this! I did use the NEW Banner Triple Punch in the 1" width and then layered them on top of each other before doing the stamping. It does not get any easier than this!
You can see my little "triple dot" here and there in the backdrop…please try it – it is so easy and so fun! I love my dots…dashes and squiggles!
I had to have a fun lining for this fun card! I adore polka dots and I ADORE the new paper stacks! The NEW prints are fabulous and I can honestly say that I love all 4 of them (sometimes there are 1 or 2 that you like but this is a grand slam)! Today I am using the Brights Collection and the Old Olive.
The trio of the Brights Candy Dots added the perfect little simple touch. I admit, I forget about them but when I do use them I scratch my heard and say why do I forget about them? They are always a perfect accent and it does not add any extra postage – a win win all the way around!
You can see that this will be a super simple card to whop up many of! I promise to share with you a picture of all of the swatch card once I do them!
Have a great day and I hope that you consider playing the challenge this week, there is no doubt in my mind that you can all ROCK IT!
Today is a special day for many reasons, today is my sweet Eddie's Birthday….we will be having a "pooch party", heck we do not need to invite any other dogs….we have plenty for a party and…I am SOOOOO excited as I am driving to the barn in Virginia to see Oscar – he is still in rehab and I am excited to see him…darn I miss looking out the front door and looking down at the barn and seeing his adorable head!
Make it a great day!

Happy Birthday to Eddie, give an apple or sugar lump to Oscar and oh, your card is just the best. I love the font and your color combination.Look forward to your email each day for inspiration.
I just love your cards! What white gel pen do you use? Thank you:)
Cute ! I love this stamp set and it is on my list for my next order .Someone will love getting this card at swap time .
Happy Birthday Eddie ! Glad Oscar is doing well. (smile)
Cute card. Hey, I don’t need a blog since I tend to share stories on yours! The pink and green reminds me of the stock car races my dad and brother used to take me to when I was a little kid. I can’t really say when I was little since I am still short! Anyway, my favorite car was painted pink and had a green pickle on it and his #17 was green. I was so excited to get his autograph one time on my autograph dog I received for my birthday. I bet he thought I was really a dork. I tend to use 17 a lot since my birthday is 3/17. So, the pink and green reminded me of this. I did pitch the autograph dog when we sold mom and dad’s house. Most of the signatures were faded and it sort of smelled musty like the basement.
Give Eddie a sweet hug from us and a treat and Oscar an apple or whatever he likes. Then, rest up after you make sure swap cards for your big trip!
Love the colors and stamp set. I ordered it, but haven’t had a chance to use it. Your tone on tone is a good inspiration for me to pull out my materials and make some cards. Have fun with all your animals and I’m looking forward to seeing all your cards for convention.
Beautiful, Susan! I love your background paper 😉
Very Nice! I like the colors and that stamp set.
🙂
Hey, girl! Great minds think alike. We both are digging Watercolor Words! Love your fresh and flirty version!
This message is from Caleb: “Happy birthday, Eddie! I hope you’ve had a G-R-E-A-T day with your puppy dog friends. I think you should play catch for a party game. I bet you will be served a cake full of dog bones with a candle in the middle. i wish I could be at your party to celebrate! I would throw you the ball and sing the ‘happy birthday’ song to you.”
Another great card, Susan! I ordered this stamp set on my first new catalog order but haven’t had the chance to play with it yet. Your card makes me want to pull it out now. Thought you’d like Caleb’s message to Eddie; those words were 100% his and unsolicited. 🙂 hope you’ve had a great day; glad you were able to see Oscar also!
Great card! I like that stamp set, too. The double banner is great!
I hope Oscar is doing well and that he was glad to see you!
Cyberhugs!
6 days!
Simple and sweet……my kind of card!
I am sorry I am a bit late in the responses….Eddie had a fabulous day and the minute I saw Oscar, I burst into tears…he looks fabulous and is doing great…a great day!
Oh Maureen…you are so kind! I always use the white gel pen that Stampin’ Up! sells….I adore it and always have a spare in case I run out!
TIP: make sure that you store it on its side….and before I take it to a project, I always draw a circle on a scrap piece of paper to get the ink flowing!
You will not regret this purchase…it is a fabulous set and one that you can do sooooo much with! I hope people like it at the swap!
I am now going to call you “#17” – love the story and ALWAYS love hearing from you….your stories always brighten my day!
I tend to forget doing a tone on tone but when I do – I really love it and I think it the effect it gives is super! I am excited to hopefully get some great cards at the swap to share with you all!
Thanks Patti – this stamp set is so easy to work with, just love it!
Pink and green are always fun!
It fun when we are one the same page….I laugh when I saw that but then again, this stamp set always makes a great project!
Oh Caleb….we did have a Birthday Treat/Ice Cream called “Frosty Paws” just for dogs! It was so fun….Eddie loved his special day and I wish that we lived closer so you could come and hang out with me and play with the animals!
Huge hugs to you my little buddy and know that I am your biggest fan!
xoxoxoxox
You pull that stamp set out and have fun….let your co-pilot help you…..
I did have a great day…
That punch is simply a must have and the best!
Thanks Linda…you and I are on the same page!
#17 is better than Pickles which was the car’s name! He also crashed the car by the end of the season but he wasn’t hurt.
Very sweet and a great class card!
