I have a confession…I am glad that yesterday is behind me…WHY? I wanted to have a pitty party for myself but no one would come! My knees are sore from crawling around as there are places that my scooter cannot wheel around to and it is easier to just crawl….the dogs look at me like I am crazy….ok – I am over my ranting as I know that this all will pass and I will be good as new soon!
The Blog Hop was SUPER fun yesterday….I treated myself to some "me time" all propped up with pillows….and the computer to myself to go HOPPING away….the PALS are great and the ideas and inspiration is over the top!
Speaking of over the top….This single stamp is Over the Top! You now that I adore single stamps as I think that they really give you a big bang for your buck and this one….WOW – it certainly makes a statement!
The inspiration for this card came from the magazine that all demonstrators receive bi-monthly. They showed in in white which is stunning and spritz-it it with some shimmer, but because I was feeling "blue" I decided to make a blue card…..well kinda of blue – pool party! (I not that blue for Lost Lagoon, and Night of Navy was out as I have so much to be thankful for….Pacific Point was just to bold…..so Pool Party it is!)
I wanted to snap out of my mood so I thought…hmmmm – what makes me happy when I stamp? BINGO – heat embossing….it brings a smile to your face each and every time…INSTANT MAGIC!
I love the effect of heat embossing with the clear powder….it always gives such a WOW and seeing the whole transformation with the help of the heat tool….well….that's when the smile comes – MAGIC!
Let's talk about this simple flower….does it look familiar to you? I used it yesterday on my blog, click here to see that post if you missed it….(I really am trying to showcase several cards using the same stamp set for you)…this is also a single stamp!
The bolder flower is stamped "full strength" and then I stamped the lower one "off" to make it softer. Remember, the punches are perfect to make this card a quick and super easy card. (you can see what I used in the scrolling store at the end)
I told you…I warned you….that these metal rimmed pearls are going "keepers"..and just look – I just love the effect and do you see something else that I used…the new silver thread! This is sooooooo easy to use, I just put a thin film of mono glue….let it dry a bit and then looped the thread before I anchored it down!
One thing that I highly suggest with BIG stamps like this…buy them in the wood mount – WHY? They are so much easier to get a clean stamp…your hand fits right around…This stamp is so big that I could not use the stamp-a-ma-jig sheet with it.
Below you will see how I improvise and the best thing is…I can tuck it in my stamp set and be ready for the next time = win-win!
You can see how the clear embossing shines in the picture, when you hold it in your hand it is just a beautiful card. When I heart emboss I like to mount the embossed mat to the card base. Sometimes you get a bit of warping with the heat tool and the "type A" comes out!
So….what do you think? I am super happy with it and I can see myself using this stamp a bunch! I will be sure to share with you more ideas using this single stamp!
Today is going to be a GREAT day….I can feel it! Many thanks to those that ordered the Watercolor Wishes Stamp Set from me…I have a couple more pictures to take using the "stepped up versions" and then I will send them your way.
Please make sure that you pop back to the post on Saturday and on Sunday where I featured this beauty and will be happy to send to those who purchase it from. They will be pictures of how I added a little extra to this spectacular kit…please hit that shop now button and just think – you could get the kit and also this stamp I am featuring today and you will earn 2 Paw Prints from my rewards program!

This is gorgeous, Susan – Beautifully done! Sorry you were feeling blue yesterday and I do hope today improves as it is not fun being down-in-the dumps but you do have good reason to be feeling that way with all you have been through with this doggone ankle! Sending you rays of sunshine and positivity — Thanks for being our sunshine each and every day with your posts. Hugs and best!!
Good Morning Susan, I hope you had a good night’s sleep and are feeling so much better this morning. I too love this stamp and it is on my wish list. LOVE your template idea, as I am a big user of the Stamp-a-ma-gig. Have a good day.
🙂
Love your card! Pool party is such a soothing color and the embossing does put a smile on one’s face. I can just imagine you crawling on the floor with the pups following, a mother leading its pack…..and them protecting you from any harm! Hope you feel better today and can enjoy some happy time. Hugs?
Susan, we all find ourselves at a pity party now and then. Thankfully it doesn’t happen everyday. I find it regenerates my resolve to “carry on.” So today is another day and I imagine you are doing better. “This too shall pass,” is what my mom used to say. Know that your many followers are pulling for you. Sending inky fingered hugs your way. Got to go CASE this beautiful card…….love your elegant style
This is So Beautiful done as a monochromatic in Pool Party, Susan! A real Wow card! Love your embossing and dimension on this one, and the subtle silver thread is perfect since it’s not overbearing and doesn’t take away from the main attraction!
So sorry about your knees yesterday…and nobody being around to help you. You are such a trooper…determined to get where you want to go no matter what you have to do in order to accomplish your goals! I’m sure today will be brighter for you. Big Hugs~
Great card, Susan! Clear embossing is such a terrific effect. And the flower is very pretty!
Hope you are feeling less blue today. Give me a buzz! Talk-therapy is cheap, especially on skype!
Cyberhugs!
You talked me into both single stamps! Hope you are feeling better today. Cheers!
You’re super happy with this card – well, I am too! It has been on my wish list! I would love to use a marker to highlight one of the words – example – the Gracias to send to some of my Hispanic friends just for fun! Bridget could definitely use this stamp! I just find it a fun stamp. The added flower and silver thread was just a great touch too. Good thinking as I was trying to think of something to add other than a heart for when I finally do get the stamp. Thanks for the tip about maybe going with the wood mount.
Pity party – well you were feeling Ted’s pain! Today, he ate part of his kibble and a bowl of water. He definitely wanted a walk and we took a big walk. He’s sound asleep now. He did get me up about 1:30 to go outside where he had another explosive amount. I think he is on the road to recovery.
Pretty ….and who doesn`t love Pool Party ? I have that cute flower and the punch and spent an afternoon stamping and punching because they are such cute flowers . Hopefully you are feeling better today emotionally . Remember that old song It`s My Party I can Cry If I want To ….you are entitled .
Big Thursday hug !
Dear Susan, What a cute card . You did a great job. I Amos sorry you are having a tough time yesterday. I hope you will be back on your feet soon. You chose the right color for your feeling blue day. Hugs, Ellen Hinds
I have been wanting that stamp image… thanks for the enabling!
Hmmm so sorry you were having a bad day, maybe you should not try and do ‘everything’ just yet. Sounds like you over did the crawling.
You will be better soon. Love your cards as always
Cheers
