Good Morning and here is to a great week ahead! I hope that your weekend was great. I had an unexpected surprise…John and James were working outside all day (work here is endless) and John walked in the house around 5 and said – "Let's go….I am going to get you out of the house" – I was soooo happy as being in the house has really been getting to me!
We went to the Antietam Battlefield (one of our favorite places that we bike and walk) but he brought my scooter and I scooted all around and he could not keep up with me! It was FUN and it was energizing to me!
This is a fabulous new stamp set that I know that many of you were happy to see in the catalog. Many of you think that we have been "missing the gaps" with sympathy stamp sets. We all need to send sympathy cards and it is wonderful to have a good old "go to" and this is it!
John often asks me for a stash of sympathy cards as he likes to send them to clients and their families and I whipped up 8 of these in a snap….why 8??? Easy…
- You get (4) sheets of each print in the paper stack so I cut (2) pieces into 1 1/2" strips and then used the MUST HAVE speed punch, the triple banner punch and I still have 2 sheets left to use for another project!
I must admit, I thought that it was totally silly to have a punch that could cut a banner when it is so easy to do yourself with scissors…but boy was I wrong – this cuts out more that (3) sizes….all you have to do is flip it over and line it up….PUNCH and DONE!
I am so happy that many of our DSP in the new catalog coordinate with Very Vanilla. I adore the softness that Very Vanilla gives and would it be wonderful to have this in a heavy weight like the whisper white!
The other "star" is the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack…this sweet little flower I use sooooo much but it always adds the perfect accent.
The Circle Framelits made this card come together in a snap….I also call them my speed tools and I think a great investment is the ones that I call "nestabilities" – like the circles, ovals, squares….these are great as you can make so many sizes, mats etc….
I used another piece of DSP from this stack to line the envelopes! I cut it in half and am able to line (2) cards with a sheet….so it worked out GREAT – there are (4) sheets in the pack and I was able to line 8 envelopes
This week I am showing you cards that are super simple and fast as I will be making these cards for "swaps" to take to convention. This is the 1st time I have attended convention and I am super excited….scooter and all….I will be ZOOMING to the fun!
I hope that this was an inspiration to you and even though we do not like to have to make sympathy cards….I think that this stamp set is a total "keeper" – As promised, I will share with you future posts with this stamp set so you can see the versatility of the stamp sets!
Enjoy your day, please feel free to leave me a comment with how you like this card…a great example of less is best! Until tomorrow.
Nice card!
I’m trying to figure out swaps myself. I have one set, but I am stumped on the other and I can’t buy anything for them. It may be that I only swap at the first opportunity. We shall see.
9 days! I’m so glad you are getting around well on the scooter! I imagine you will be out stripping me by a mile!
Cyberhugs until then!
Very nice card Susan. I like the colors and the layout. I’m so happy you got to go out yesterday. You must take care of yourself first.
🙂
A well done sympathy card….simple and tasteful. The colors and pattern are soothing to help someone through difficult times. Sounds like you had a nice adventure yesterday,,,,,three cheers to John for a great idea!
The little punched flowers really soften this card ! Love them …I use them often ,but would not have thought of using them on this sentiment . Pretty card !
Glad you got out yesterday . The convention should be interesting on your scooter ! Do you have a horn ?
This is very pretty!
Very beautiful and uplifting. I haven’t bought this paper stack yet but I’m seeing a lot of sheets that I like; it will likely make it onto an order soon. I’m happy you were able to get out yesterday…you’ve got a loving husband! I can just see you at convention whizzing by everyone on your scooter. Maybe it will help you win a little extra prize patrol! Happy Monday!!
I just love this card! I too am going to make a bunch of these. It’s the type of card I would like to have on hand when I need them. Just a beautiful design Susan! You amaze me!
beautiful card! I will look for you (and your scooter!) at convention! I am “able bodied” (more or less) but by the end of the day walking on those concrete floors at convention those scooters start looking very inviting! You are definitely smart to plan ahead and take the scooter.
Susan,
It has been a long time since I have seen you. Hope to see you at convention. It is my first also. I love your cards!
What a fabulous stamp set! I love the colors of your card. I remember after I had my foot surgery…. I was dying to get out of the house. Even getting to go to the grocery store was exciting.
Susan,
This is such a “U” card and I love it. I must copy it…sorry to say I need 2 sympathy cards immediately…and they usually come in 3’s so I may as well make 4.
Thanks so much for the beautiful idea.
What a beautiful Sympathy Card. Yes, we all need them, sorry to say. WE just had a service this past weekend. I know at our age & the ages of our families, we are bound to have more than we wish.
Glad you made a card with this stamp set. I have a ? mark on that set, now I will erase that and put it on my WISH list.
The colors are beautiful and I also love the flower punch you used. Perfect.
Thanks for sharing.
You will be in SWAP heaven!

You make me smile….it’s a keeper!
Yes, I only made 30 and now I think I should have made more. Maybe I will make more if time. I am staying in SLC for a research week at the Family History Library so I have lots to prepare for that also. Super excited!
Dear Susan, I love this card. It is so uplifting. Any one who receives this card is going to feel the love. I wish I had a picture of you going on the scooter with your horn. I think everyone is going to get a kick out of you. You have a great loving Husband, to get you out of the house and take you someplace you like. Have a great day. Happy Stamping. Hugs,
I want to tell you the package of shared products I received from you are beautiful I can not believe all the time and work you did on them. Thank You so very much, Hugs, Ellen Hinds
