Good Thursday….does anyone else think that this week is flying by….wowzers – I think I lost some days somewhere! Today is the day of the week that the Pals Paper Art reveals a new challenge for us to play with! Below you will see the challenge and it is a great one to have fun with!
I had some fun with this sketch, I decided to flip it around and also use some sneak peak products from the new upcoming catalog. The Halloween Paper is soooooo much fun – there are fabulous prints that I am super excited to have fun with it.
What are your thoughts, do you like Halloween Cards? I know that there are many that do not care/believe in Halloween…but it sure has become a super popular holiday! I have fond memories of Trick-n-Treating and I love trying to go to Mrs.McGraws house twice to get another popcorn ball…it never worked – she was too sharp and I thought she was to old to notice me!
Let's get to the fun and simple card. I am so happy that Stampin' Up! has made several SP collections that coordinate with Very Vanilla. This spider paper is a sneak peak from Happy Hauntings DSP…..just adorable, don't you love those little dangling spiders?
Today is a good old A-2 card that is very straight forward…just a layering pf paper. I adore paper as I think that you can really make a HUGE impact with paper and still be able to be super frugal….see the below picture!
I really wanted the fun paper to have "center stage" today but then I just could not resist using this sentiment "spooky" – another sneak peak and you know that I ADORE simple sentiments like this so I am doing the HAPPY DANCE that we are getting many new ones – this is from the Seasonal Frame Thinlits Dies (4 sentiments)
Did you notice the little trick that I have shared with you before? I like to use the Vanilla Coaster Board to have sentiments like this to be adhered to. The "green glue" works great with it and these new sentiments are very narrow and I have plenty of small scraps to use up = win-win for me!
Time to talk about the spiders on the vellum….I was trying to keep things fresh and different for you so I pulled out some scraps and stamped these little guys on the vellum – they are from "A Little Something Stamp Set"…a fun set that covers several seasons!
It was rather easy to adhere the vellum to the stripes of card stock. I just take a dab of the green glue in the spiders body….let it set aside to "set up" and adhere it. Fun trick to do.
Envelope time!!!! One of my favorite things about making cards…my beloved envelopes – if it doesn't make the mailman or the recipient smile, I know it makes me smile! I did a double whammie today – I say, WHY NOT? If your stamps are already inky…put them to use!
Because I love paper so much, I must admit I also like to share it in unique ways. Below you can see a strip of card stock, (1/4") and then the DSP underneath! This is a super fun way to dress up an envelope…..LOVE IT!
I hope that this simple and clean "spooky" card brought a smile to your face and then hop on over to the Pals Paper Art Site and see what the other designers came up with – so much fun to see how everyone interprets a sketch!
Make sure that you check out the weekly deals this week – KEEPERS! My pick ….hmmmm ENVELOPE PUNCH BOARD for sure…that is a must have – but also, the bow punch is super fun and useful and then bakers twine….you can never go wrong with this….
Email me if you have any questions and please let me know if you are a customer of mine and you have not received the new catalog yet (please email me) and if you are not working with a SUD, I would love to work with you!
Enjoy your day and do something fun!

Love Halloween, love making Halloween cards and treats, love your card today!! The paper is super cute and I love “Spooky!” Great job, Susan!
Love this card Susan. 🙂
Yes, it brought a smile to my face even though there are way too many darn spiders on there! At least they are not alive and sitting in front of me and crawling all over! Halloween is all about the candy and treats to me. I just always had trouble dressing in a costume of some sorts but loved to see what others did. It’s not like I have no imagination – I just didn’t like doing the costumes. Now, Mike could wear his weekend work clothes and be a minion and not even know it! But, it is fun to make treat holders and cards and such for the holiday. That witches hat kit is cute but I think I will save my money for something else.
I liked the touch of vellum on there. Of course I love the way you mount the SPOOKY on the coaster board too. It may be a little spooky but it is a fun card!
My local demo actually had our catalogs sent to us and I received mine yesterday. I had a good time looking at it and seeing what you have used so far on your projects.
Good morning Susan,
Love your latest Halloween card. Love making treats and Halloween cards for family and friends, especially my little kiddies at school. They just receiving treats on special holidays.
Thanks for sending my new Holiday Catalog. LOVE IT !!!!!
Fun card today, Susan! Thanks for the reminder about using vellum. I never think to use it, silly Sharon!
Love to make Halloween cards, boxes, decorations. I love the colors! Can’t wait to get the new SU Halloween papers. They are so fun this year!
I love Halloween and Halloween cards. True confession: I hate Christmas, but Halloween is a keeper every time! Great card and just as awesome envelope. I always thank you for sharing the green glue tip whenever I glue down those thin dies–keep on preaching it! Judy
Susan, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card and envelope! I adore Halloween cards. I laughed about the popcorn ball, too! I remember my Grandma used to hand out Rice Krispy Treats to all the kids and they would sneak back to get a second one. Now, you couldn’t give those out. I still have friends that write with fond memories of her treats. I think of Halloween as a fun day for children to pretend and get candy. SO little fun things left for kids. Very sad to me. You certainly made me smile today and I think your creative take on the sketch is Fabulous!!!!!!! XXXX
Creepy crawly and fabulous!
Another reason we need to get together and stamp away…..LOVE making both!
You made me smile! Hugs my friend….
“Mike the Minion”….I swear these little creatures are EVERYWHERE and every time I see one I burst out laughing thinking of you! You are the best!
I agree….it is all about the fun treats! I can remember raiding the kids candy baskets when they went to bed…..that was sooooo bad!!!!
The Halloween paper is just FABULOUS! Love each and every design… this card did get me in the modd to start making fun cards!
With everyone grown up, I like to make cute cards for them and then also make them special treats to send to their schools/homes!
I always find Halloween cards to be fun to make….there seems to be no pressure – but I always “stress” on making “the perfect Christmas Card” which is super silly…..
All cards are great!
Thanks for popping in and thank you for the fun comment. I could not agree with you more…it is super sad that people put sooooo much into simple things that we enjoyed so much. There are probably children that have never experienced the joy of getting a pillow case and goign trick-n-treating!
LOVED IT!!!!!
Thanks Linda….I love those little spiders on that stamp set!
