I know that you are going to be inundated with "sneek peaks" from the new Holiday Catalog (and trust me, it is great) but I feel like we still need to show the love to the Annual Catalog! This stamp set is one of my "go to's" and I am thrilled that Stampin' Up! carried it over.
If you do not have this set,Fabulous Four…you need to – trust me on this one as each of these sentiments are great and you can even "mask off" part of it of you wish. I use masking tape and make sure that it wraps around the mounting block so it doesn't wiggle and then peel it off after you ink it up!
For todays card…you can see that I used 2 different colors .
Many people do different methods to do this but what I like to do is first stamp it on the stamp-a-ma-jig and then clean my stamp and then place masking tape over the area that I do not want to show…ink it all up and then peel off the masking tape and again, using the stamp-a-ma-jig…STAMP! Then I repeat this the opposite way for the other color.
Using embossing folder always adds a great interest to your projects…try to mix it up and only use a part of a card. I think that we get so programed to use it for the whole front of a card, but you can see that this just breaks it up!
Also, I checked last night and the Texture Boutique Machine is still in the clearance Rack at 50% off….this is great for embossing only – there are times that it is really nice not to drag out the Big Shot as it is so heavy – this little dream machine is so little and light!
Playing with another print from the Bohemian Designer Series Paper Pack on the same card is fun! Because everything matches so well…it's like "Peanut Butter and Jelly" – it works!
I just cannot get enough of the Triple Banner Punch…it is the dream tool and I am amazed at how often I reach for it….when in doubt – pull it out! That's my motto for our punches….if I can use them – they are MINE!
Clean, crisp, colorful and fun…this would be a great card for many occasions – just switch up the sentiment ad make someone smile! These colors are just fabulous and oh so rich!
I know that many of you are not fans of Delightful Dijon….but I am here to tell you…I bet I will change your mind. It is fabulous with many colors and I can clearly see in the Fall that it will be super-de-duper!
The envelope liner framelit was the "icing on the cake" – I can honestly say, I never send a card out with out either a liner like this or something fun on the outside of the envelope!
Remember….we have talked about "the little things in life" – to me, this is one of them…it just is "complete" in my opinion!
Below is a picture that will make your lower lip go down. Dear, precious Norman had to have surgery on his ear and this "cone" is really stressing him out! He stayed in my work area all day with me…I told him it would pass!
Even though Norman doesn't look like he is having a good day…let's all have a great day and a super week! Today I get to go to the Surgeons in Baltimore for my ankle – I am hoping that I can sign up for dance lessons….ok – that is a bit much, but I hope that I can start therapy and get going forward!
Until tomorrow…..
Best wishes for speedy healing for you and Norman!
Aren`t you glad they didn`t put a cone around your neck ? Speedy recovery wishes to you and your Norman. Now…I like the two colors on your sentiment because it adds visual interest and does not get lost in the background . I need to practice the two color steps on my next multiword sentiment . Great card !
Great card! Poor Norman! Those cones are no fun! Good luck with the surgeon – you have been such a good girl – I see PT in your near future – you’ll be doing the Cha-Cha before you know it:-). Have a great week!
Love Sonny’s statement about the cone! Made me laugh! Poor Norman….he didn’t want you to be all alone with your injury. Really like the colors and the layout on the card! The sentiment is simple and says it all. Good luck today and hope you receive good news!
Oh, what a pitiful sight to see that little Norman is not a happy camper! Nobody enjoys being restricted, and especially on ones neck! I’m excited for you to visit the Dr. this time, Susan! I certainly hope that he/she has wonderful news for you today. I still don’t like that Dijon color…haven’t from the first time I saw it. I like More Mustard better, but that’s been retired for some time now. I’m loving that blackberry bliss on the dp’s though and that sweet pop of blue twine to match the ‘celebrate’! And Thanks for the embossing tip on just part of the card~
Oh, Good Luck today Susan, at your doctor’s appointment. I hope it was nothing too serious with Norman’s ear. How long does he have to wear the cone? It’s so sad to see our fur-babies not understanding what is happening to them.
I have this stamp set from one of your “monthly clubs” and I use it all the time. It really is a great one. I love your two colors and hope to try that the next time. I also love your single piece of twine separating the two papers. I use the twine more than any other SU ribbon. I really like it. Looking forward to tomorrow for updates on your ankle and Norman.
🙂
Poor Norman! I hope he heals quickly so that he can get the cone off. I am excited for you to see the surgeon today, as I know you will get good news since you’ve been such a good girl. 🙂
I really like your card today; I agree that the stamp set is fabulous…it is one I use all the time and will keep long after it has retired. Have a wonderful day!
Goovy card – that sounds sort of Boho Chic still doesn’t it? Love the colors and the EF to go with it. Of course the envelope is the icing on the cake though cake doesn’t sound so Bohoish! I don’t think I ever really bought that stamp set – I think I planned on it but didn’t. I swear I gotta get organized!
Poor Norman, I know I wouldn’t like that old cone thing either. Murphy had to wear one a couple of times and he would bash into things all the time. I think it was on purpose to smash the cone. He would look so pathetic smashing into everything. We would take it off before he actually hurt us or himself more!
I bet you will be starting therapy ASAP and will be good as new in no time. I go for my sleep study tonight. The goofy scheduling person wrote Sunday, August 3 on my card. So, I showed up last night and it is actually Monday, August 3 for the appt. At least it was only a couple miles from the house and no big deal to turn around and go back home.
Best wishes for you and Norman today. Will keep you in my thoughts as you progress through your day. Thanks for the great tips today too. Hope we hear good news tomorrow!
Sharon H. (Using my sister’s iPad as we are vacationing together……Robyn is here too.)
Cheerful card! And the dsp on the envelope is cheerful, too! I think I would have a hard time making that print work on a card, but it is terrific for the envelope!
Praying for the progress you want so you can go to therapy! Have a safe drive to the Dr.
Cyberhugs!
