Guess what?
I am NUTS about you!
Yep, that is such an understatement as in a million years I would have never imagined being 50+…having the time of my life in doing something that I love…learning how to blog but still being tech challenge but that's ok…and having cyber friends from all over!
It simply does not get much better than that!
Here is another “sneak peek" of some goodies that are in the new catalog….that calendar is rolling so September 1st will be here before you know it!
You will be happy to know that this comes as a bundle (woot-woot, an instant 15% off) and having the punch is a time saver. I love the fact that the punch cuts out the "cap" as well as the "nut" so layering different textures and colors will be fun!
Several weeks ago I did a blog posting using the corrugated paper and not only did I love it ~ you did to. It seems to add an instant texture to your project and I love the feel of it embossed.
On Stamping School I saw a card being made with this paper and this embossing folder! What a fun effect and then using the sponge dauber on top is the icing on the cake!
The base of the Card is Early Espresso but I used the Soft Suede with the dauber to lightly go over the embossed trees to make it pop. I think using a shade lighter was key, as you want a subtle but effective look. The “key” is to have a very soft/light touch.
I was afraid that when I ran it through the Big Shot, (my main stampin’ man) it was going to squish the effect of the paper but it didn’t. It actually made is very soft, feeling like velvet.
The circle framelits were my help today (love those framelits that graduate in size). Being able to cut a ring out of the Early Espresso was a great way to add an extra spark to the card.
I simply added a small piece of the In the Woods DSP behind the circle (great way to use a minimal amount of DSP) and then adhered the adorable little acorn over it. The Bakers Twine bow is the simple touch needed….with the help of a glue dot!
Do you remember that our envelopes come in Crumb Cake? Well…yep, they do and I must admit that I have not used them lately!
Using the same DSP I cut that to a piece of 2” X 6” (this way if you were to mass produce a card and want your envelope to have some FUN, you will get 12 envelope backs form 1 sheet of paper!) – the old olive piece is ½” wide.
Tomorrow John and I are heading out to take Hannah back to college….she will be starting her Senior year and she is our “Red Caboose” I have a great 2 day post ready for you over the weekend.
Get ready to have a great weekend. It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end. Where we live I started to see school buses already. Heck ~ I can remember that when I went to school it was after Labor Day….I hate to think that there are little peeps having to go back so soon!
Have a super-de-duper day and until tomorrow!

LOVE this card – Between the corrugated paper and the embossed trees it is indeed a keeper. LOVE the design and detail!
P.S. Safe travels with Hannah back to school and is the tree embossing folder used here available yet?
Cute design. Love the idea of using corrugated paper. I have some but haven’t used it in a while. Now I am inspired to go back to it. Thanks. Good luck to Hannah this year.
Love this card! Best wishes to Hannah for a wonderful school year!
YEAH! I am so glad you like it Deb…I am really lovin’ this paper – FUN!
Thanks…we will be safe – it is wonderful to see her so eager to go back to have a great year!
Nope, the folder isn’t available until Sept 1st but itis a HOT one!
I was totally like you…sometimes it takes an idea to pop into your head….I’ve got that paper – I need to give it a try!
That is exactly the way I was about the blender pens….now they are my BFF!!!
It’s hard to believe that my Red Caboose is finishing her last year…times goes by sooo darn fast – that why I always say we need to make memories!
Great card!! Love the use of the corrugated paper; thanks for letting us know how it turned out after going through the Big Shot. Caleb remembered the “Nuts About You” hostess set from last year and commented how it would be fun to add the little squirrels to this card. Thats the viewpoint from a 7-year old…this mid-40’s lady thinks your card is PERFECT this way 🙂
Safe travels for your entire family and best of luck to Hannah as she starts the Home Stretch of school. Looking forward to the weekend posts! 🙂
Great card! I wasn’t sure about the corregated paper but now that I see what you did with it I am so impressed! I really like the embossing trees and its effect. Very fun! Wow, Hannah a Senior….you must be so proud! Enjoy your trip with her.
Oh no! I swore I was not getting anymore stamp sets as I sure purchased enough in my preorder. Now you went and did it again–enabled me to have to buy more. Great card and soothing to the Soul.
You have my address – please send me this card! I want to see it up close and personal as well as touch the texture! Sort of kidding about sending me the card—-yes I would love it and cherish it as usual! I love corrugated paper and am still angry I didn’t order the little tool to do so when then had it. I was really wondering if you could emboss on that kind of paper without it getting squished and you answered that for me. Otherwise, you could use the wood grain folder maybe and then emboss the trees on another pass through the Big Shot? I don’t know but whatever you did I LOVE THIS! Thanks for the tip about using the soft suede ink with the dauber I probably wouldn’t have thought that through and used the early espresso to match the paper. That baker’s twine bow is perfect on here. I saw someone put one of the new little wooden leaves on their bow with the acorn and that was a cute touch. I smiled when I saw this set-especially the dotted cap piece. Just a fun set to play with. I think I might have to splurge and buy it at card night next week. I hope some clever people come up with ideas of using the punch for other things to justify the expense of the punch. Cutting out all those acorns would be o.k. but the punch is so much fun and a lot faster too.
Have a safe trip on taking Hannah back to school. Did you make a bunch of the little boxes for her or will that be later and mail them to her?
Great effect embossing the corrugated paper.
Love the card! As soon as I saw it, before I read a word of your description, I thought, “She’s been watching Stamping School!” You mentioned that a long time ago, and I subscribed and have been glad I did!
You are going to be in my neck of the woods again, and I’m not! We are off to see our daughter in FL and then to my in-laws in AL while you are here in NC. Figures! Have safe travels and all the best to Hannah for her senior year!
Cyberhugs!
Love the embossed corrugated paper! I’m surprised you cam do that and not loose the corrugated texture. Great tip! (You have a million of them, I know!)
Safe travels to you and your family. Best of luck to Hannah too! Senior year in college, it doesn’t seem possible. She has had some amazing opportunities and here’s hoping there will be even more in her future.
Wow! That is so cool the way you embossed the corrugated paper. I will have to get some of that paper for sure. Cute card!!
Here is another reason that I love Caleb so much….I ADORED THAT LITTLE SQUIRREL TO! I can remember that last year I made a card with that and the acorn DSP….it was super cute and fun!
I’m with you about that paper….I thought that it was going to be very stiff and “industrial” looking but it makes a great effect!
As the commercial says….”Try it…you might like it!”
You made me smile and then laugh! What are we going to do with ourselves – sometimes this super cute stamp sets are like potato chips….you can’t stop with one or two!
Chris…being that I am NUTS about YOU….it would be a perfect card for YOU!
I was surprised that when you ran the embossing folder thru Mr. Big Shot that it wouldn’t hurt the effect of the paper but it didn’t!
LOVE that embossing folder! I am sure that it is going to be a hit……it looks great on spooky Halloween cards to!
Hugs!
Thanks Barbara and thanks for popping in!
I adore Stamping School and it is my Sunday morning coffee love!Boo that you will not be in town….this will be a fast trip but a fun one.
Have a blast with your travels and be safe!
I was equally as surprised as well…it is a great paper and becomes very soft to the touch! Remember, in the package you also get white paper…I need to blog about that one day! Have a great weekend my friend!
This is my thought about that paper…it is great to have a pack….it is something that you will not use often but when you are in a slump and want to try new things…this would be a great product to pull off the shelf and play with!
Thanks for popping in!
This corrugated paper!!!!! Oh my! Oh my!
Absolutely love this card. What an awesome job.
