Today this is a card that you could say….a card for many reasons…a card for many seasons…I say – one fun, versatile and special card that is truly SUPER easy to make!
Do you remember when I shared with you some swap cards from Atlanta …well this is where the inspiration came from, I just "changed it up" to make is a bit different! I call it a KEEPER!
Water Coloring…coloring….is so on trend and it is nothing short of sheer FUN….WHY? Easy = it shows an expression of you…it leaves a "feel good" of accomplishment and the lucky recipient will be smiling from ear to ear so I do hope that you "push out of your comfort zone" and give it a try!
Today I did use the Aqua Painters and it was super simple to use the lighter color first on the leaves (pear pizzazz) and then added the deeper shade (old olive)…it is so fun to do and then with the flowers…the same…first I used the Wisteria Wonder and then added the deeper shade of Perfect Plum!
To make this beautiful floral spray of flowers pop even more, I used the Sahara Sand ink with the Aqua Painter and did a quick swipe all around! This does the trick..I love Sahara Sand as it always seem to "do the job"
I chose to use the watercolor paper as the mat for the front of the card (usually I just use it for the image) as I like the texture is gives and then…here comes the true beauty of this card –
As the title of this posts says…a card for many reasons….the sentiment! I adore this font…and it is from the must have A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set but just think, you could easily use it with many different sentiments for many different themed cards.
I just could not resist, I needed to add these teeny tiny pearls – a fun touch that still is clean and classic. The other touch that I did was a simple scoring…just love that tough!
Well….thoughts??? I think that this is a great card and one that would be super fun to change up the colors but the thing that I think is the best is, it is super clean, classic and very simple to make!
I think that I am going to showcase this card in classes as I know that once people have an simple aqua painter in their hands…a paper towel handy to pick up extra moisture and I know that there will be some happy and proud faces!

I love each and every element of this card but I especially love how the pearls and the shading make the flowers pop. I agree, this is a keeper!
I do have one question…how do you mail a card like this…i.e., a card with pearls or rhinestones?
This has to be an all-time favorite for me. Absolutely STUNNING….I am in awe!
Stunning card!
Hi Susan, I agree… Such a beautiful card! I think there are a lot of us that would like to try this watercolor technique… Would you please make a video for us to follow? Thanks for your consideration.
Lovely!! I too would like to see a video on the water coloring. The addition of the Sahara Sand in the background really sets it off. Great job!
I love watercolorimg on the watercolor paper but sometimes find it difficult to stamp something like a sentiment and not have it appear “sketchy” due to the texture of the watercolor paper. What is your secret for getting an out,ine or sentiment stamp tomappear well on watercolor paper?
Beautiful, and I never would have thought to put the Sahara Sand around for some more shading/color. Really makes the flowers pop!
I love this card! So simple, but beautiful!
So beautiful. Looks “soft”. Your water coloring is great too!
Wow! It doesn’t look simple. This is a beautiful card and I’m not a watercolor pro but I’m going to give this one a try. The Sahara Sand shading is lovely. Thanks for sharing.
My first thoughts when I saw this card….It’s a keeper! Guess I was right! It is so soft and, simply put, pretty. Love to do watercoloring on canvas and the same goes for cards. Your colors add depth and the Sahara Sand was the perfect touch!
What a beautiful, classic card. I can see this as perfect to bundle up as a gift. May I ask, what color did you use to stamp the original image and sentiment? I might have overlooked it in the text.
Simple… classic… elegant!
Hi Susan, when I first looked at the card I thought you stamped on to Sahara Sand cardstock and fussy-cut around it. You are very brave to paint right on the layer. It does look fantastic.
🙂
I love this stamp set ,but have not gotten it yet. The biggie on this card is what everybody is buzzing about ….that Sahara Sand .
You added so much to the image by using it ! And who doesn`t love that sentiment? That font is special . My friend Suzie Cullen gave me this set of sentiments and I just love all of them !!
Pretty Card !!
Your card is beautiful as well as elegant! The pearls really step it up! I love it! 🙂
Good job, Susan.
Beautiful card, Susan! Love the colorsq–rich but soft and that you water colored the image is so nice. A card anyone would love to receive. Gotta love those Aqua painters!
Beautiful card. Hope Eddie is doing well.
Beautiful, stunning card! Again, the simple design says it all.
Love this stamp and have used it several times and it’s always different. Now I will have to try this one:)
Susan, my holiday card swap card has been mailed.
When I scrolled down your blog & got to the photo, my first words were “oh WOW”. the simplicity and watercoloring are super together. I need a thinking of you card that I am going to be making tomorrow night. guess what? I’m casing this baby! thanks Susan. ooohh I hope I have that stamp set. if not I’m sure I have something close enough.
and you’re right. it’s the sahara sand that makes that image pop. gives it a whole new dimension. great job!!!
Beautiful card, Susan. It has such a calming feel to it. you did a lovely job on the watercoloring.
Just beautiful! I love it.
This card is absolutely beautiful. TFS
Susan, the simplicity and beauty of this card is over the top! Love it!
Stunning………..
What gorgeous coloring. I had to scroll down and check out that set. I had glanced at that set but never really paid any attention to it. Boy, SU should showcase your card in the catalog next year if they hold this set over. It would sell this set out in no time! I gotta get me some sahara sand ink – this makes this card look even more amazing! The scoring is the best too. The envelope liner paper is perfect. That reminds me my demo still has my order from August with that paper in it!
Susan, The simple elegance of this card is breath taking. You’ve “hit it out of the ball park” again, dear friend!
I love the simplicity of this card!!
